I can't believe the shit I read posted on here, this bit isn't bad at all, what a bunch of DECA trained pansies. This used to be the good section once upon a fuckin' time ladies.
@piratebrentos hear ya there man. first run down this bit of road was night in the flogging down rain in a double trying to keep up with another regular. the bit around macksville/clybucca/kempsey is pretty shithouse too.
I always travel through the night on the pacific highway, its my favourite roadtrip from sydney to the gold coast, the big rock, legends cafe, big banana, big prawn and a few beach stops add to the fun, wouldnt be much fun stuck on a plane the worst part of my trip from sydney to qld is pennant hills road before leaving sydney, from then on its all good. the trucks are no problem in the night unless you get a tailgater. my vehicle is a 51 year old station wagon supercharged offcourse.
I haven't done much of the old Pcfc Hwy up north, but there are some beautiful parts not too far from where i live. But I do hope they keep them. Our highways are pathetically slow for "highways" anyhow.. don't spoil the fun by eliminating the few good windy roads we have.
Besides, roads don't kill people... people kill people. And on roads, it tends to be idiots who can't drive that kill people. And to say "Speed Kills" is just futile. Of course it does. So we should all drive at 30km/h????
The Pacific Highway from July 2007 is 40% or 260 kms dual carriageway (DC) and a further 10% or 70 kms is under construction! In/by 2016 100% will be DC!!
YOUR NOT AUSSIE! if your bitching about roads....

Yes you are correct... dunno what I was thinking as I've been driving this road for over 40 years. Cheers

Try getting your night hours up when learning to drive on these roads. 80km/h with a line of trucks behind, gets pretty hectic.

@piratebrentos Tried Summerland Way? Shouldn't have, should be a continuous slow lane on the 4 lane dual carriageway we should have.
Why is the planned Grafton Bypass 7km longer than it has to be? Greenie rubbish changed it.
