A friend of mine's uncle was given a job at the end if the war. Dump the contents of a landing ship into the mediterrainian sea. Hundreds of brand new, crated Napier Sabres!
When will a Napier Sabre like this one be restored to pristine "ground run" condition? Unfortunately the only sounds from a Sabre out there on the web are a few badly sounding files on a Tempest site.
Collector Kermit Weeks has a Sabre-powered Tempest project. I read some comments he made that the airplane is being finished for display and one day he hopes to make it airworthy. He also stated that to his knowledge, there are only 10 Napier Sabre engines in world and they are all in museums except for the 2 that he owns. I suspect getting a complex engine like the Sabre to running or airworthy condition will be more difficult than the rare German motors being restored today.
There is to my knowlegde, a Napier Sabre engine owned by the Fighter Collection at Duxford UK. The painstaking efford was made to get it running reliable enough in order to get an approval by the Civil Aviation Authority so it could be joined to the Tempest V airframe that is currenly restored to fly sometime in the future. Unfortunately enginetests pointed out that problems with the sleevevalves made the CAA to decide otherwise. Now the idea of using a Centaurus is seen as the alternative.

Will they ever be able to restore one at all?
Nice footage by the way and thanks for posting!

Zeer goed gemaakt, zonder "freelance cineasten" gaat het ook, je ziet wel.
