This is a prop video. This jail has always abused the mentally ill and everyone for that matter and they still do to this day. That evil witch sheriff has NEVER been held accountable for the deplorable treatment of inmates. You cant choose your judge and this VERY short vid means nothing! @ThinkofKrishna Hey I appreciate your concern and I agree completely with you that this jail abuses its inmates after the few interviews I did get. The Dallas County police department is way understaffed for this jail and the crime we have. My uncle is a cop and he tells me about the millions of issues the dallas county justice system has. Unfortunately this video was made FOR the judge in support of the program. So there is very much a bias. I am very glad you are expressing your opinion
This is one judge! All mentally ill DO NOT get to her court. You DO NOT pick your judge! I am writing this June 29 ,2011 and my mentally ill freind just left this jail . Shes epileptic and was refused meds,her doctor faxed all medical info to jail and yet jailers told her she was lieing and faking seizures. She was locked in single cell for hours having seziures and hurting herself and at times she was put in restarint chair for 2 hours while having seizures.
My freind who is mentally ill and epileptic was just released from Lew Sterrett after 7 months..she was refused seizure medication and at times left for hours having seizures in single cell. After jailers got tired of it they put her in a restraint chair for hours while having seizures.This jail abuses,neglects and DOES NT give meds. They also LIE and tell you Terrell State hospital has no beds and my freind waited 5 months for a bed. Well Terrell has PLENTY of beds! This system is abusive!
I'm sure this was just an oversight, but "The Big 3" include: Major Depression, Bi Polar, and Schizophrenia. Manic Depression and Bi Polar Disorder are the same disorders. Very good documentary, though.
This is a program that helps mentally ill adults who do break the law be able to return to society as stable, high functioning individuals! I'm not saying that ALL of the mentally ill break the law, that is certianly NOT the case at all! This is helping those people who are repeat misdemeanor offenders be able to stay out of jail. These are good people who need extra help within the criminal justice system.
This gives people that do have mental illness a bad name. There are highly fuctional adults living with these mental illnesses who don't break the law. Having an mental illness isn't a crime but breaking the law is!
This judge don't care shes in it for the money ..How much you want to bet shes on the board of directors for one of the services offered. Thats how judges and Child protective services operate. They are a rackett. The judges get paid to send people to "services" or to adopt children out and places like CPS get federal funds for each child they adopt out from these people.

So if I were you, I would would do some research and work on my grammar before making any additional premature assumptions. Got it?
I didn't say she was a cps judge I just stated the facts that shes probably paid for the "services" shes offered or on the board of directors to one of the "services". That happens to be the case with most inusrance cases, cps cases, or cases involving services. This country is run by corrupt bankers, politicians, judges, and soulless lawyers.
