The reason I did this is because I noticed these cops were harassing kids in the park for 3 straight day as a part of a training session. There was NO missing person report because we pulled the 911 calls....it was all a lie and the supervisor was there to watch the techniques of the new cops as they trained on teenagers who did NOTHING.

They receive an average of 8 calls for service per 12 our period. That seems a bit over kill? Half the officers do absolutely nothing during thier shift.

Well I guess I'm lucky that I don't live in the US then. The majority of the cops I have met (and I have met dozens, and worked with many of them) have been decent people who DO care about the public they serve. It is unfortunate that is apparently not the case where you live.

Equipment in car: $25,000
Officer: $130,000 (not just pay, medical costs and insurance included here).
That alone adds up to $180,000.00! That doesn't include the training and equipment the cops carry. So your little speeding ticket that set you back a couple hundred bucks,
you have know idea how prisons make money...if you want to get outside for a day and see some sky...you sign up for a detail...then what happens is that detail is farmed out to the highest bidder...which is some guy who has a farm that needs some maintenence or some junkyard that needs a days, or weeks worth of labor to clear up some junk to one side of the yard or to just scrap it. now normally the job goes to the lowest bidder..but when it comes to prison labor...the job is given to the highes
I don't know which jail or prison you're thinking of, but there are no prisons in the US that allow their inmates out to work anywhere! Once somebody goes to prison, they have been sentenced and being in prison is part of their punishment. Consequently, they DO NOT leave the compounds. If they've gotten to the point of being in a state prison, they are beyond the point where they would be allowed outside to work. You may have jails and prisons confused, but that just shows that you don't know

Whoever has the crime committed against them. If someone steals something from you, you were aggressed upon and are due restitution. If you beat someone up, you owe them restitution. Capital crimes such as murder would require time served, but at your own expense.

What criminals? I believe that we classify some people as criminals when they are not. Pretty much the only kind of criminals that I would think it necessary are violent criminals... murders, rapists, anyone that attacked someone and killed them. The burglars and arsonists would be forced to pay restitution. If they can't afford it or are unable to work, they will be put in a prison and made to work at a real wage to pay money. I don't think the State has a right to end anyone's life... ever.

To not elevate more violent criminals to higher security prisons (because they lose the money for a head count as well as look incapable) Often times it's not even the state that benefits the most off of privatized prisons. They design speed traps. The money from those fines often doesn't come back to benefit the taxpayers either. COPS should be writing less tickets as time goes by... otherwise why are we paying them? @Bigbird5553 I don't know where you live, but in CA speed traps are illegal. By definition, speed traps are very hard to create. Its not just some cop sitting where the speed limit changes writing speeding tickets. It actually pertains more to how often the roadway gets surveyed to determine a safe speed.
I kinda agree that the number of tickets should go down, but that's not reality. There is no such thing as a road that people will not break the law on. Remember, its not just speeders!
on a footnote...go to civil court any day of the week and total the amount of fines that are levied against ppl who violate civil traffic statute violations. tell me how much money they "make" in a day.
I do actually know how jails make money, and that's from the state budget. They do not make money.
As far as the civil court BS that you're claiming, I can gaurantee that the departments aren't making money on it. Remember, any given day in court there are several agencies represented there. Say the cost of the ticket was $500. That isn't all going to the dept, most goes to the court and state. Plus, you have to subtract the pay of the cop and the gas to get
them there. Now add in the fact that the department has to buy those vehicles and equip them, train the cop, let alone pay them an hourly wage to be at work. Suddenly, that money goes away. And that's for every cop that goes to court and every ticket that gets written.
You really should check the numbers and you will see that they don't add up to be the same.
The $500 was a high round number, but even still, that equates to 100 tickets (roughly) just to pay for 1 car.

The reason I did this is because I noticed these cops were harassing kids in the park for 3 straight day as a part of a training session. There was NO missing person report because we pulled the 911 calls....it was all a lie and the supervisor was there to watch the techniques of the new cops as they trained on teenagers who did NOTHING.

Sure it was harmless in the sense that these children are really no worse for wear, what it does however both to the image of authority in the eyes of the children, and what it says about the unquestionable power of the police . . . needs to be shown and said.

These videos are great. We need more people like this guy filming! Police misconduct might let up a little. Why would anybody ever give a cop their ID when asked? your car on the other hand all a police officer needs is probable cause. a k-9 sitting for your car = PC. a cops seeing paraphernalia = PC.

I filmed the police they took my camera and wont return it until I go to court for obstructing them in the line of their duty I was on the roof and they were on the ground but the courts will convict me and send me to jail because thats the way it goes we have no freedom to do anything any more.

@David7e1 I may be wrong, But aint that the point there genius? Cops out doing absolutely nothing. I live in a town of 25K there's 40 police officers with 15 on duty at any given time. They receive an average of 8 calls for service per 12 our period. That seems a bit over kill? Half the officers do absolutely nothing during thier shift.
One town to the south of me has a population of 2500 with 24 officers. $ well spent? Cops put in request to hire 4 more.

In Illinois and New jersey it is illegal to record the voice of a police officer or district attorneys. Who is this protecting exactly and why? Well I guess I'm lucky that I don't live in the US then. The majority of the cops I have met (and I have met dozens, and worked with many of them) have been decent people who DO care about the public they serve. It is unfortunate that is apparently not the case where you live.

Let me give you this scenario: A typical Ford Police Interceptor: $25,000
Equipment in car: $25,000
Officer: $130,000 (not just pay, medical costs and insurance included here).
That alone adds up to $180,000.00! That doesn't include the training and equipment the cops carry. So your little speeding ticket that set you back a couple hundred bucks,

you have know idea how prisons make money...if you want to get outside for a day and see some sky...you sign up for a detail...then what happens is that detail is farmed out to the highest bidder...which is some guy who has a farm that needs some maintenence or some junkyard that needs a days, or weeks worth of labor to clear up some junk to one side of the yard or to just scrap it. now normally the job goes to the lowest bidder..but when it comes to prison labor...the job is given to the highes

I don't know which jail or prison you're thinking of, but there are no prisons in the US that allow their inmates out to work anywhere! Once somebody goes to prison, they have been sentenced and being in prison is part of their punishment. Consequently, they DO NOT leave the compounds. If they've gotten to the point of being in a state prison, they are beyond the point where they would be allowed outside to work. You may have jails and prisons confused, but that just shows that you don't know

isn't gonna make the department money. Let alone, that stuff goes to the courts which is then given back to the state. Law enforcement agencies and fire departments are not around to make money and believe me, the cops themselves get nothing out of writing tickets.
However, studies have proven that tickets affect how a person drives and does reduce crashes and fatalities. So I'd argue the opposite, cops do care about the community they serve. Yes, some are jerks, but jerks are everywhere.

I'm sorry, I don't believe you. Yes, we have crime in the US, but there is crime EVERYWHERE!!! Like it or not, a big part of the crime is because of the freedoms people are allowed. For example, the UK do not allow private persons to own firearms, we do. Consequently, we have more gun related violence. According to you, we should take away that right (police state) to reduce crime.

Whoever has the crime committed against them. If someone steals something from you, you were aggressed upon and are due restitution. If you beat someone up, you owe them restitution. Capital crimes such as murder would require time served, but at your own expense.
I know, i know... we don't live in this type of society, but it would be ideal. I don't understand why WE have to pay for THEIR incarceration.

I don't think that the jails need to be privatized, but I do think they should have to pay restitution to the people they wronged and pay for their own incarceration.
I wish Sheriff Joe Arpaio ran the entire jail and prison system.
I gotta admit, I have trouble with the fact that these people get all their healthcare stuff (dental, medical, everything) taken care of on our dime.
We've done nothing wrong, but we're the ones stuck paying for them.

@lotekjunky Problem is, even private jails require government money. Jails are not in place to make money and most of the people in them don't have much money anyways. Consequently, the government then subsidizes what they can't cover.
As for Arpaio, I think hes doing a lot right, especially when he keeps getting re-elected.

NOT paying for their healthcare has as many consequences as paying for it. If we take your approach. no rehabilitation occurs because the environment will not allow. If we give them too much quality of life, people scream for punishment. Then they serve their sentence, and have a good chance of returning.

@Bigbird5553 I'm not saying to treat them like pigs. I think they still need to be treated as people, but they should have to pay for things that they would have to pay for in society. If you have a toothache, you don't get to go to the dentist to have it fixed without paying for it, but a prisoner (someone who broke the law, unlike a normal law abiding citizen) gets to have their teeth fixed on the states dime.
I think they should run all jails the way Sheriff Arpaio runs his, inexpensive

What criminals? I believe that we classify some people as criminals when they are not. Pretty much the only kind of criminals that I would think it necessary are violent criminals... murders, rapists, anyone that attacked someone and killed them. The burglars and arsonists would be forced to pay restitution. If they can't afford it or are unable to work, they will be put in a prison and made to work at a real wage to pay money. I don't think the State has a right to end anyone's life... ever.

To not elevate more violent criminals to higher security prisons (because they lose the money for a head count as well as look incapable) Often times it's not even the state that benefits the most off of privatized prisons. They have the prisoners make Box's sheet. or even work farms. Who makes all the profit from those manufacture items? Lots of the time a business. not the state.

No actually it's quite a lot of money. Red light cameras etc come out to be millions. The weird thing is .... somehow that money doesn't seem to be represented back into the traffic system in which it was derived. Why should traffic fines be going in the same pile as civil servant salaries? shouldn't you be using the fines to fix and improve the roadway system? Inmates at a private prison and their labor go to paying the corporation that runs the prison. Not to society.

@Bigbird5553 Actually, its not. Consider that a traffic ticket will be about $250 on average. The majority of that is court fines, many of the tickets themselves cost less than $100.
Besides that, I don't know where you're getting your info, because the money from those tickets do not go back to the LE agency. It goes to the court and then the city, so it does go into improving the road systems.
LE gets their money from property taxes. Otherwise LE agencies wouldn't slow down with the

I don't think your getting me.... I'm not syaing tickets are how cops cover their operating costs. I'm saying that some municipalities use their law enforce me for side revenue generation. They design speed traps. The money from those fines often doesn't come back to benefit the taxpayers either. COPS should be writing less tickets as time goes by... otherwise why are we paying them? Why doesn't the fine money go to creating roadways that a ticket wouldn't even occur?

@Bigbird5553 I don't know where you live, but in CA speed traps are illegal. By definition, speed traps are very hard to create. Its not just some cop sitting where the speed limit changes writing speeding tickets. It actually pertains more to how often the roadway gets surveyed to determine a safe speed.
I kinda agree that the number of tickets should go down, but that's not reality. There is no such thing as a road that people will not break the law on. Remember, its not just speeders!

As far as the civil court BS that you're claiming, I can gaurantee that the departments aren't making money on it. Remember, any given day in court there are several agencies represented there. Say the cost of the ticket was $500. That isn't all going to the dept, most goes to the court and state. Plus, you have to subtract the pay of the cop and the gas to get

You really should check the numbers and you will see that they don't add up to be the same.
The $500 was a high round number, but even still, that equates to 100 tickets (roughly) just to pay for 1 car.
