@SuperTinkerhell I know it! It was fun to get something substantial and tangible with your purchase. Like how Ultima VI came with a sweet cloth map and an actual moonstone like the one in the game (I think it was just polished obsidian). And the LucasArts adventures came with newspapers. Now it's all digital downloads for 50 bucks, or mayyyybe you get like 1 dvd and a single piece of paper...
@janmansde3dede I'm pretty sure he said, "hand painted". You may have seen people painting with physical brushes and media earlier in the video. You know, by *hand*.
@janmansde3dede It's a form of emphasis. Since we can't make text here bold, italic, or underlined, we have to use the characters available, and this is meant to be more polite than ALL CAPS, which is often perceived as shouting (with the exception of obvious acronyms and initialisms, of course).
@bloodrunsclear That's not really true. A ton of successful indie games were made by a handful of folks on the dev team: World of Goo, Dwarf Fortress, Minecraft all come to mind. Now it's easier than ever to make a game, because all the SDKs and engines and stuff are out there, what stops most people from realising their game ideas artwork: ur typical programmer ain't the best at the art. Anyway, Roberta says in this video: 500 people or something were employed there...
i loved sierra's space quest games alot those were hilarious. Phantasmagoria was cool to. I remember being 16 when i bought the phantasmagoria and my jaw dropped when I found out the game had 7cd's
@noaheugene20 no shit, Phantasmagoria was the craziest game in almost every way imaginable! The crazy gore (for a video game), the adult subjects... and yeah... 7 CDs was bloody insane!
I think I still have an unopened copy of that game... :)
King's Quest VI was awsome! The only problem with it, and most Sierra adventure games, was how easy it was to die and how you'd get tricked into dying a lot. LucasArts really had a better handle on that problem than Sierra ever did. I think I actually had the original floppy disc version of this game from 1992, the CD version came out a year later. Lol, I miss the floppy disc. How many megabytes was that thing? Was it 2.88 or 21 MB by 1992?
Aw, I remember watching this on my huge, old school 1992 computer! Kinda makes me sad. :,) Good ol' Roberta Williams. What's not to love about King's Quest?
This, and several other videos, used to be on the old King's Quest VI disk! I burned them all to DVD, but the quality was poor. King's Quest games are so underrated, and I can't imagine where the industry would be today if it weren't for them!
this is AMAZING! I love it....you know King's Quest does seem to have a huge fandom...I dont understand why we cant get something more...like a remake of the games where we could play them on either newer computers....or a video game system...I miss them so much....
I didnt know they used video of actors for some of the scenes...
@Haids1987 ha ha we quote so many random things from KQ. Like "Well if she doesn't want it" when King Graham picks up the harp. "Most people try to avoid they say their are bandits out there!"
King's Quest 6 is the best of all of the games I watched my dad play it when I was only 5 and still remember how much fun I had watching him. When I think of epic adventure I think of this Quest. The King's Quest crew seems like genuinely cool people.
Was a 500 million dollar industry sady companies dont seem to care when comes to
making games like kings quest anymore.

Yeah! and when are the people going to go back to making quest games like this? I'm dying for another one.

It would be so cool to just put together a game with a small crew again.
It just doesn't seem to happen anymore.
