hi i have a step down transformer with various settings such as left and right polarity, and 12 to 0, as in pc engine gt is 7.5 to right, and snes is 9 to left, so this would probably be 7.5 to right? i used to have a lot of import consoles, years ago.I am trying to work out the setting to recharge this.

@squirm13 Hi, I charge the FC16 Go version 2 using an AC adaptor I got from B&Q. Set it to 5v and the tip as +. I've put a 2 part video on Youtube showing how to remove the tabs. There's a link to it below my original FC16 Go vid. Don't know anything about the Hyperboy I'm afraid.

how do you recharge the battery, as this is usa console, i read that if the tabs in the slot are removed it could be multi region? I have asked someone about this.

For the duration this comment remains on the first page (or if I'm lucky the highest rated comments), people will know if you can somehow cut these little tab thingies inside the slot off PAL games work perfectly fine. Not sure about the slowdown or borders though. If I can save up $55 without blowing it I'm going to get this thing for sure!

@GamerDudeish No, my adapter has 2 slots in it so it'll fit - I think most if not all adapters do.

@GamerDudeish It'll play NTSC fine but to play PAL and Japanese games you'll need an adaptor like I use in the vid cos of these carts not having 2 slots in the rear.

@GamerDudeish Yeah it'll play all NTSC games fine as far as I know - I think someone said it had trouble playing Mario RPG as far as I remember but every game I've tried works fine.

@P5ychoFox I've just ordered one. I hope i won't have to wait too long for it :) How bad are the PAL game borders on the mini LCD screen? Is it an issue?

@Leigho79 The borders aren't really an issue, I hardly notice them. To be honest I play more NTSC games on it than PAL. I always use the wireless pads cos the D-pad on the system is a bit stiff. The pads are great - just a shame the start button is higher up than on a SNES pad - I'm always pressing where I think it should be :)

Mine stopped working. it turns on and everything but the games don't start up. I let it charge for a whole day and it still didn't work. The screen lights up for a second but then it goes blank. Any idea what's wrong with it and how I can fix it?

@rootbeer543 That's odd. It may be some fault with the cartridge slot. You could try asking for help by putting a post on the Assembler games forum - there are loads of technically minded people on there who may be able to track down the fault.

I wonder why Yobo adds those tabs...There is really no reason to add those. I mean, really. Are they trying to make it feel more like the original console? Nintendo isn't going to sue you for letting others play Japanese games.

Either way, seems like a excellent clone console. They seem to be getting better and better! I hope in the future they make a portable N64 clone, sense I'm WAY to lazy to make my own and the custom made ones cost quite a bit if you're lucky enough to find one on Ebay.

@itouchwalkthroughs Because of the tabs inside the console. PAL SNES & Super Famicom carts will not fit - NTSC carts fit cos they have 2 slots in the back. Hope this helps.

With an adapter (or with tabs removed) it'll play any games from any region so there's lots to choose from. Personally I love, Super Mario Kart, Street Fighter 2, F-Zero, Super Probotector, Zelda, Super Mario All Stars, Super Mario World, Super Metroid...

@itouchwalkthroughs PAL games work fine through a converter so if the tabs were removed I see no reason why PAL games wouldn't play when slotted directly into the cart slot.

In version 1, you can apparently play Super Famicom games if you remove the tabs. So it wouldn't be any different with version 2 right?

@lordrath2000 Yes, Super Famicom games should work as it's only the tabs that stop the cart going in. There is no region protection chips in the console.

Yeah that's true - that mod has been done to my NTSC Super Nintendo. The NTSC SNES won't play PAL games without a converter - but FC-16 Go will (as demonstrated by not needing an NTSC cart in the converter).

On NTSC snes systems you only need to get rid of the tabs to play Super famicom games, no converter is needed.
