  • Hello! Have you tried the X7 Guitar Mind Implant (do a search on google)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate learned to jam with it.

  • This is really very helpful for a beginner. I am 59 years old and just started to learn. Thanks Cliff and God Bless.

  • Thanks a lot.

  • thank you mate great

  • I learned to play guitar with 2DAYGUITARCOURSE(DOT)INFO. Great course for busy people.

  • And you got me back on 5.50

  • I lost you on 2.50

  • nice

  • I think I have looked at all these guitar videos, but this is good a good one. The concept is a learning tool. Any fool can learn a chord but controling them when there are more than one is another story. This concept will take you there and make you feel good about yourself.

  • which song is that in the intro of the video????

  • Nice suggestions! Will try them...

  • YOU sir, are awesome! Great concept!

  • "Mommy, what's a toneslinger?"

  • gee-fucking wiz. y'all just bitch, bitch, bitch. it's a damn YouTube video, it's not always everything you expect when you click on it. the title was fitting. and even though it wasn't exactly what I was looking for, at least I can admit it was HELPFUL.

  • Says the guy who's name is "@bozo5116."

  • Tyvm cliff this technique seems cool

  • you could use this for ear training... it could help you recognize the "center of the universe" chord comparing it with the other chords.

  • Nice telecaster in the background

  • THANKS WORKED ALOT

  • thats stupid! your just memorizing !!! why did this take you so long ? man!! thats fucked up

  • This is awful. I was expecting to learn chords, you know, the title.

  • @Spoonifulable This is just some useful information, if you want to learn chords, google it. Theres a database full of every single chord you could ever dream of.

  • This video is called "Learn guitar cords once and for all". I wasted my time watching it as a beginner guitarist because it should have been titled "Learn NEW cords once and for all". As someone who has only recently held a guitar for the first time, this video is mis-titled.

  • can you tell me wich guitar you are playing plaese??

  • The first 29 seconds makes me not want to recommend this otherwise quality pedagogical tool. Credits drive me nuts on instructional vids. Sorry for the rant, but it's how I feel.

  • @disneypassholder you should have written "not want to recommend" in there.

  • Thank you!

  • great idea "center of the universe"

  • which breedlove is that? Sounds really nice ;)

  • I'm a new at guitar I have a lot a trouble with frets and chords this is very helpful for chords but I can't do the frets with messing up the strings .Do you have any tips on how to do the frets ?

  • Holy cow, repeating things into muscle memory is exactly what I need. This is an awesome technique! Thanks TSC!

  • This makes sense man. I've got all the basic chords including the proper bared f but the other friggin bar chord are a pain. I'll try ur method :D

  • Really nice video this way I easily learned those friggin C7 and all those hard ones

  • 15 people play bass

  • @BALEnaVICO whats wrong with that?

  • its a very nice trick......thanks cliff it helped me a lot

  • remember when you go to your youtube page and there wasn't an advertisement at the top of the page?

Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO

Remember when there wasn't advertisements that never go away?

Remember you couldn't have a limit to favorites?

Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?

    WE MISS THE OLD YOUTUBE

Post this in every video and lets start a youtube riot!

  • Hey Cliff! A bit off topic - but that guitar you're playing sounds awesome (the tone). What make/model is it?

  • Now thats the way to go. thank you so much Cliff.

drummer to guitar. Really helping me understand.

  • Hey Cliff, your technique in combination with the metronome brings me in a trance, it's just like I'm in space ... (Lol the center of the universe). ;-)

  • is about patience, discipline, ear, and practice! Thank you.

  • nice not bad

  • im just starting to play and its just the right time that i found this video

    really help full

    thanks

  • this helps alot even though i dont know how to play D but ill learn=)

  • I just found your video after searching endlessly for ways to improve my muscle memory. Any suggestions from a seasoned vet like yourself? I just can't seem to switch fingerings from a C AGED. Then there's the Barre chords like that dreaded F. My forearms kill me after trying. WTF am I doing wrong?

  • @railfreek Bar chords... hmm it's probably just something you have to get used to. However, properly supporting with your thumb can do the trick.

  • its fantastic

  • Thanks for taking the time to put this together for us :)

  • Wow man thanks. Very good technique!

But one question. How or where do I learn advanced chords?

  • You're a nice guy by the way :)) Thanks for the video.

  • i think this is a great idea!

  • simple. great :))

  • hey stupid question, they notes for guitar are not DO RE Mi ? ect?

  • @loubita yes, they are, but they have another name

A is LA, B is SI, C is DO, D is RE, E is MI... and the same until you arrievto G that is SOL... you know?

  • wow... thanks so much!!! ur awesome!!! :) :) :) u play so well.. thanks for sharin ur knowledge... :)

  • This center of the universe formula is really really working for me. I really appreciate y'all puttin this vid for us beginners. Thanks guys

  • can i know what brand this guitar is plzzzz...thxx=)

  • Thank you kind sir. :)

  • Nice , good trick to have fun and sound practicing ,thx

  • I love my drums and transitioning from my kit to my guitar is a really tough one. This video is really helping me to understand new ways to learn chord progressions. Until i get good ill just keep rocking out on my kit XD

  • This is very useful to me, especially since I'm a beginner myself, thanks for the tip.

  • I am just about as newbie as they get but this method of learning new chords makes the most sense out of any video I have seen on youtube. Can someone here explain to me what a "thumb mute" is? Someone told me that I should be thumb muting certain chords and I am not sure what they meant.

  • dear i m also newbie..bt as i thnk in switching chords the position of thumb bhind the fret is very imprtant...try placing thumb as supporting fretboard ...ur thumb shud nt touch low E strng ...as i thnk..

  • good way of learning ,cheers man !

  • toneslinger, thanks a ton for showing this to me! I already knew a couple chords, but never thought how to link them to learn more without struggling through songs that have them.

This makes learning a whole lot easier. Thanks!

  • Very nice, thanks a lot!

  • ooo, i like that E B D A progression

and the rest is a nice idea on way to practice chords - rock on mr. toneslinger!

  • It's seems to be the best techniqe I had seen so far. Thanks alot I will try your method.

  • hey toneslinger, i have problems playing b chord and the chords where we have to bar or prtially bar. can u suggest anything to help me??

  • @besurasinger Keep practicing.. everyone who just start playing guitar always first struggle through these bar chord..

Pressuring your thumb from behind with your index while playing the b chord may help get you start..

  • well done bro. now set that Roland cube on death metal and show us all whats up

  • I practice with a similar method, though I will change to this, as it is easier to add the chords you have learnt to 1 piece of paper.

    Thanks

  • good tutorial man 5 star rep!!1

  • hope it helps. let me know how it goes for you.

  • thanks. will give it a try

  • good luck. Let me know how it goes for ya.

  • never thought of it that way.. pretty good.

  • thanks, give it a try and let me know how it works.

I've got a template for it I use with my students, i'll work at getting it on my website soon.

  • thx cliff, good approach. now back to that damn F#7...or is that a Gb7? lol

  • good one. thats funny.

  • you are the shit man

  • @toneslingercliff I'm probably missing something...but ma momma said that if the song's in a major key, use sharps, and if it's minor, use flats.

Concur with the good effort vibe!

  • @ultrakool I think this is Bbdim/Gb :)

  • Cliff, simple but superb. Keep posting such techniques.

  • thanks for the kudos. subscribe to my vids and you should get notified when I post new stuff.

  • Thank you Cliff. That video was really helpful because i'm just starting out and learning new chords using your method is really helping me. Thanks again for this great, helpful video.

  • this is a great technique for beginners. It helps you get your chords organized and makes sure you practice all your changes.

  • DUDE! YOUR MY SAVIOUR! I have never been able to transition to C from a G or anything else and this helped so much! Thank you!

  • what?

  • what what?

  • I think that your video and method is the best I've found on YouTube for learning chord transition. Anything else you could post for beginning acoustic learners would be greatly appreciated!

  • thats a really good method of teaching, i't will help alot thanks, appreciated.

    now wheres my guitar ..............

  • this is so smart...as a newbie..i thik this would help

  • glad it helps. let me know how it goes! :) Cliff

  • Thanks Cliff. I'm helping my 6 year old learn and this helps a lot.

  • I've found that my younger students really latch onto the COU concept in the video. When I teach them, I point them to my website toneslinger and there is an article on it. It has the video there too.

  • It was exactly what I was looking for!!!!

    Thanks for the advice!

  • give me a shout and lemme know how it works for you.

  • good stuff man. you are a really good pedagogue.

just got an acoustic from cuba and I am really enjoying this..

    thanks!

  • First time I've ever been called a 'pedagogue'. I had to look it up and once I did, thanks!!! :)
