  • Paul Sidney was the best employer, coach and debate opponent. There were times when he and i (after my night shift) would kick it back and fourth till the wee small hours. He told it like he saw it. And when it came to local radio, his vision was 20/20.

He was a man of vision who would not sell out.

He did it his way. If you listen to Paul on these youtube posts, and if you pay attention, you will hear an entertainer who went out on the limb and worked without a net. God Rest you Paul

  • Paul was actually born in 1939 and would have been 70 this past summer. He was my friend for 50 years. He is very much missed, but did get to live his dream!

    Roy Whitfield

  • While we shall all miss "The Captain"..Mr. Sidney..his crew Gary Sapiane..Rusty Potts and all keep his legacy of "live and local" on the airwaves..providing good radio for everyone who can appreciate it!

    RIP Mr. Sidney.

  • RIP Paul Sidney.

Long Island Radio and THe East End Wil Miss you.

    1600 (1963-1997) and 92.1 WLNG.

The Best and- Sadly- the last Locally Owned and operated Radio Station on The East End with a truly dediacted man like Paul Sidney who knew how to please the pepole of the East End of Long Island. With the old Jingles and remotes, WLNG was and still is a great station. WLNG and The East End is now poorer because Paul Sidney died on the 92nd day of 2009 at 1 AM...How Ironic.

    RIP Paul
