@shanethemainman The point of open carry is to encourage all gun owners to do it. No one would try to take it off her if 15 other people at the restaurant are visibly armed. This movement is for the security of the nation, not the individual because the individual is already covered in most States and it only secures his/her safety even more if all gun owners work toward breaking the aversion people have when they see an armed citizen.

Awareness of your environment and those around you, your location(good neighborhood, bad?), how you're positioned in relation to others, even profiling. What's stupid is someone that makes an attempt to relieve you from your sidearm. I can't speak for everyone, but I don't think it's a stretch to say, "YOU WILL GET THUMPED!". Be safe folks.

theres nothing like seeing a beautiful woman open carrying a gun. in my opinion all woman should carry a gun, open or concealed, legal or illegal every woman should have a firearm on their person. but i also think anyone that is caught doing any kind of serious crime that hurts someone physically or financially should be killed on sight, so my opinion might not count lol.
Just an FYI guys here in Michigan the courts have upheld if your open carry and get into a vehicle that is considered concealing your firearm. If it has not happened where you live it is just a matter of time before they try it there. I would hate to see someone get a weapons charge for excersing their rights.

True, but i'm talking when off duty, all the LE i know prefer to hide as much about what they do as possible, and wont open carry.....its all good, i open carry on my property and at my place of business, and if given the choice tween open and and nothing, im sure id open carry. i guess i just warm up to the idea of knowing im prolly the only guy on the subway car that KNOWS im carrying......but both OC and CC should be our right here in illinois. alas, not yet. im jealous.

I open carry EVERY day of my life here in Las Vegas. I let my CCW lapse 10 years ago because I never use it. CCW does society a huge disservice in that it disconnects the general populous from the reality that people are carrying guns.

@SplitSecondTowing In Virginia, we have have both open and conceal carry. I like doing both depending on my attire. As for keeping the bad guys guessing, I partially agree. It's my opinion the armed populous should be mixed. The concealed...to keep em guessing. The open...to keep em friendly.

Do you guys get messed with by the cops a lot when you OC? I would say about 65% of the time the cops show up and mess with me. I did order myself a custom star badge that says CHL on it.... and now days when I OC I make sure the badge is visible so the sheep don't trip lol. As far as I know there is nothing illegal about the badge because it does not say police or sheriff or law enforcement or FBI or CIA lol anywhere on it. Just CHL and my county and my CHL number... meh :-P

I love your passion for our second amendment rights BUT... when cops open carry they do it in a level 2 or 3 retention holster and are well trained in weapon retention techniques and hand to hand combat. The main reason for this is the fact that 9 out of 10 officers that have their gun taken from them are immediately shot with it. So open carry if you want and more power to ya but watch each others backs and look out for people eyeballing your gun or getting too close.

I have mixed feelings on open carry. I'd prefer for people to not know what I have. I carry a weapon 8hrs a day on the job. When I'm off I prefer to keep things under wraps.
OH has open carry laws, but it causes more of a problem then it is worth. To many liberals freak out and call the police, then you get charged for inducing panic. Open carry is great but I would still carry concealed, just my thoughts. Glad you guys had a good time. Charlie Mike!

@MrSHIZZLE4u I am not going to fight over this with you or anyone else we can agree to disagree like grown up's or just do not watch open carry video's i conceal carry 98% of the time and if you watched the video of us going out you would see how wrong you are we had a GREAT night out with 100% positive feed back from everyone we talked to last night and folks even told us they where happy to see us and mroe people standing up for our rights. We broke no laws not 1 and did nothing wrong.

I love your passion for our second amendment rights BUT... when cops open carry they do it in a level 2 or 3 retention holster and are well trained in weapon retention techniques and hand to hand combat. The main reason for this is the fact that 9 out of 10 officers that have their gun taken from them are immediately shot with it. So open carry if you want and more power to ya but watch each others backs and look out for people eyeballing your gun or getting too close.

@MrKnox489 Yes we do all those things you have talked about and those 9 out of 10 officers you talk about could not even out shoot me or handle a fire arm as well. I am not going after crack heads and pulling people over so i am not worried about what cops do.With that said I/we are very very aware of what is going on around us I also only open carry 2% of the time and when i do its in a mostly controlled area as we called ahead of time spoke with the owner and went to dinner then home.

Situational awareness IS important, but that should be a way of life . NOT a option only in certain situations.Also the situation you advised on is what the Officers are trained to handle . Those unfortunate circumstances are from lack of familiarity. Thus by the family practicing Open Carry. They are in effect training.

Especially people of small stature like women. The act of open carrying is NOT training. You're either trained for the situation or you're not, and all your patriotism and confidence in your shooting ability won't save you from someone who gets their hand on your weapon. @MrKnox489 ive seen cops here in my hometown that are "well trained" carry their guns on duty shoved in their wateband i have also seen the same well trained cops that didnt know haw to take their glocks down.ill trust some one like the 556s over a cop anyday

I have mixed feelings on open carry. I'd prefer for people to not know what I have. I carry a weapon 8hrs a day on the job. When I'm off I prefer to keep things under wraps.

OH has open carry laws, but it causes more of a problem then it is worth. To many liberals freak out and call the police, then you get charged for inducing panic. Open carry is great but I would still carry concealed, just my thoughts. Glad you guys had a good time. Charlie Mike!
