  • Great you can bang out chords... how about something with feeling???

  • @PF1964 The DT25 is a great guitar amp. But different from the Tweaker. Cannot go wrong with either.

  • @MrBombhouserec yea cause i want like the EARLY black keys stuff, or the sheep dogs stuff! i dig that kinda stuff! oh yea and im 17 and i like thst music, just wana throw that out there! instead of the kids my age liking deathcore metal with screams! sounds like crap to me!

  • Man thats fat. I have a tweaker 15. Ive been thinking of getting a lp classic but not sure if I wanted the ceramic pickups, this sounds great to me though. Although I love classic achtung baby u2 tones as well.

  • @zinku2 The ceramic pick ups are loud and ROCK. It almost feels like to much at times but the rock tones are KILLER

  • im trying to decide between this or the jet city amplifiers JCA 20 half stack? what do you guys think?

  • @wedontknowone1 Depends on what tones you are going for. This amp leads towards the classic tones.

  • @wedontknowone1 if you get a jca 20, you'll most likely need to change the tubes, and the stock speaker sucks!

  • Is this the Tweaker 40? I am dying to try that and the 88. Do either have a solo boost function?

  • @richedie The 40 is a 2 channel version of the tweaker 15. So you can have one channel set as you main sound and the 2nd as a boost if you please. The 88 has a DEDICATED solo boost switch..ALSO the one in this video is a original Tweaker 15 watt version

  • Dude is this amp enought to play a Gig???? o a good reharsal

  • @FpChristos Yes I think so. Use it all the time for gigs. Small and large.

  • Have you changed the tubes in this? I heard you can change them without having to change the bias - is that right? This sounds amazing & great demo btw.

  • @JamiesHereNow Hey man. I have put El34's in it and I LOVED IT. You can also put 6L6's in them as well. They are fixed bias. Happy Holidays!

  • Foot switch available?

  • @MrDimebuck The Tweaker 40 has a footswitchable. Not the 15

  • I will receive this amp this week, can't wait ! it sounds great !

  • @ericmusic13 awesome! Good Luck

  • Egnater should be paying you, dude...

  • @doucette um Thank you sir....

  • Is the tweaker giggable unplugged?

  • It's got too much gain because the pickups are sooo hot. Anyone who's owned lots of pickups knows what I mean. You have the gain nearly full with a '57 classic, then when using a 496R you can run the gain at about 11 oclock and get the same break up.

  • These amps are really great sounding. I have a rebel 20 I really like. They saturate really nicely. Great Marshall grunt at less than ear shattering volume.

  • Great demo! Its rare to see a demo where the person plays more strummed out things. A lot of demos are STRAIGHT shredding, which is cool, but not helpful..

Are you using the 44 watt head or the 88? (If those are the right numbers..)

  • @Dillonraffaele hes using the original tweaker, which is 15 watts.

  • @jaijun21 Thanks man. The rebel does have more gain. The Rebel 30 seems to have the most gain available. If you are relying on gain from your amp go with the 30. You got 2 channels that are solid. The Tweaker will go in the high gain territory but it depends on what guitar you are using. With the Les Paul is just rocks. But the Tweaker to me works better for cleaner tones.

  • It's surprising that the AC seems to have the best metal tone (to my ears anyway).... Like a 'pocket' version of a Diezel or Fryette or something similarly well balanced.

  • @rrippp

Yep, agreed! Imagine a pedal in front of this bad boy!

  • You know the secret - nothing shows off the harmonic richness of a driven amp like a healthy dose of Add9s. I just put in an order for one of these bad boys... Can't f-in wait to play with it!

  • wow. That's amazing.

  • What are your favorite eq/toggle settings in "Hot Mode?"

  • @DSilvergun In hot mode I trend to turn on the deep switch and the bright switch when using anything humbuckker

  • You must work for Egnater...because that is how this thing is SUPPOSED to sound. I am so tired of cool gear being demoed by awful players. You sir, have kick ass tone and I will now purchase this amplifier. THANKYOU! (Also, demo more stuff so I can know if it's actually good or not)

  • @mainstayrock dude! I wished I worked for Egnater! Thanks for the props man. I will be doing some more demos later this summer. My studio schedule is packed. But I have picked up some cool pieces to review.

  • Nice demo. Contrary to your comment, the sound actually is good. Can this head actually get CLEAN .... and sound GOOD? Or is it basically just a "dirt box"?

    rgds

  • @abradfordajb hey man. This head can get GREAT clean tones. It's my favorite feature about this amp. it can do the U2 cleans or the John Mayer cleans....

  • nice tone! keep it up greaaat!

  • @ElDiabloHuma ..thanks man.

  • Dude you just made me buy the tweaker! And I was not supposed to buy any more gear for 6 months :). Great job with the review.

  • @axedoc2010 ..:)

  • Can it get loud enough for me to gig? If not, is there I way I can get it to?

  • @FootsyFootage it can handle pretty much any gig. for my loud rock gigs I use an orange 2 x 12 cab with it and it does fine. However the Tweaker 40 comes out later this summer. That thing will be plenty loud. I have an acquaintance that has spent time with the amp and said it's amazing.

  • @MrBombhouserec my crate palomino 15 watt through a 212 cab gets louder than my fender fm 212 solid state...and sounds freakin' awesome!!!

  • @MrBombhouserec hey man, is it not a pain having only one channel? or do these clean up nicely turning down the volume knob? it sounds awesome but other than using it at home, i cant see it being a great one to use live without a pedal board because you cant change your sound on the fly. know what i mean?

  • @racerx3065 Hey man...I mainly use a Pedal Board...however the 2 channel tweakers will solve your issues. A dude I know has the Tweaker 88 already and it smokes.

  • @MrBombhouserec thanks for the reply! :) i use a pedal board too but i want an amp that can do both clean and dity if i fancy using it on its own, im looking at the tweaker 40 or rebel 30! just hope the tweaker 40 isnt too big or heavy!

  • Damn i dig the tone of the Tweaker most versital amp in the price range for a 15 watter thanks for the demo it really heleped me out!

  • Thumbs up if you clicked on this vid because it looked like Tom Morello!

  • *Watch him change the settings* =O!

    WITCH! WITCH! WITCH!

  • This thing sounds like it ha a lot of gain, do you think it could do "metal" with an OD in front of it? I've heard all the scooped stuff on the AC setting, but can you get alot of gain on the American and British settings as well?

  • I have a question maybe you could answer...I have a tweaker head and 1x12" cab. I also use a Gibby, but mine's a LP Standard Traditional. It's got '57 Classics. I'm having a hell of a problem getting a good crunch with articulate mids and highs. Do you think a hotter pickup would help? I was thinking of a Duncan JB or Sh-6 Distortion. I was going to sell the Tweaker, but I'd rather not, since I just got it. What bridge pickup are you using in this vid? Is it the stock 500T? Thank you much!

  • @DisasterBlaster500 ...hmm? What voicing are you using? Also are you used to more Vox style amps? As far as the high end and mids on crunch tones you should not have a problem with the Tweaker. A suggestion would be to flip the bright and tight switches up and try the AC tone with the vintage switch on. The amp should get you there but may not get that chime a Vox can . My guitar pick ups are stock. Btw I love your lp.

  • @MrBombhouserec I tried a few settings on each voicing. I think the problem is my pickups. They're Gibson '57 Classics, and they have a sort of mellow sound. they're not bad, they're just not my cup of tea. I'm gonna try swapping them for a JB/Jazz set. I sold that guitar a few weeks ago, but thanks for the compliment! I'll post a vid with my new guitar soon!

  • @MrBombhouserec hey i have a lp standard and i want to trade it for a classic would you say its good for higain stuff and did i here interstate love song at 4:28 stp ?

  • just ordered this!!! cant fucking wait!!!

  • I noticed that one of the 6v6 tubes in my tweaker is no longer glowing orange. I am wondering if it may be blown....and can this damage my amp. However the confusing part is that although it's not glowing....i still get sound from the amp. Can you giv me advice possibly....thanx.... and gr8 vid again!!

  • @sonyplusgigabyte ..I would for sure replace the tubes just in case and be careful doing so! I have a funny story about that. Remember you do have some tube options with the amp. El34's and 6l6's. I love my amp with the EL34's in it. Good Luck.

  • @MrBombhouserec thanx alot for the response. I ordered some electro harmonix 6l6's from musicians friend. In the egnater tweaker all you have to do is remove th old tube and put in the new pair...not so??

    No need for biasing?

  • @sonyplusgigabyte ..There is no biasing needed. The amp is fixed bias according to Egnater. Also yes the amp does take 6l6's,El34's and 6V6's. You should be able to (carefully) pull out the tubes and replace them. If you google 6L6 and Egnater Tweaker there are some good forums that discuss the tones and ect. check out the gear page.

  • Did I hear "Dropping Anchor" in there from Jimmies Chicken Shack? If so, ROCK!

  • thanks for replying back (: just go another question to ask you if I get a different cabinet will a orange 2x12 and 4x12 cab work with it ?

  • @mrjones8893 ...You want to run the cabs at the same time? I think it will work. Make sure to check the ohms but you would run it out of the 8ohm output for the speakers if they are 16 ohms.

  • helloz there I just like to know that is it like on volume ?

will it be power full for band practise and gigs ?

i love sound of them but just worried if they will be to weak for stage performance

  • @mrjones8893 ..I have used it in a full band situation and it did great. I used a 2 x 12 cab to help push more air. It did the trick! Good luck!

  • @mrjones8893 I use mine on stage all the time & I get compliments all the time! It's definitely loud enough & packed with tone! In fact, I don't even run mine at full volume & it screams!

  • is the master high enough to get any breakup from the power tubes or is all that distortion just from the preamp?

  • @peeblesj1131 ..hey man. The sound on my mac book pro is very sensitive. So the Master volume for this vid was VERY LOW. The distortion is from the pre amp side. When I put the Master at 1 o'clock or more the amp gets magical in my opinion.

  • He's actually an Egnater giant. This user is borrowing his V currently. Look up MeAndTheV

  • That amp looks 3 meters away from you. eye illusions... lol

  • @ddos411 It's the camera on the Mac Book Pro...you are right...too funny

  • @ddos411 It is that far away. His arm is nine feet long ;)

  • @ddos411 i noticed that about half way through....lol it looks like its 5 or 6 feet behind him

  • @ddos411 hahahahah thats fuckin weird :S lol

  • @ddos411

lol thats what i thought until i saw he was changing the settings

  • Hey what are the settings in the amp?

  • @SuperFatboy777 ..If I remember correctly I did go thru many different settings. My faves with the Les Paul are with the Bright Switch on and the low cut on using the Vintage,British and Hot settings with the gain up to about 1 or 2 o'clock. The Vox side with these settings are fun to.

  • @MrBombhouserec Do you remember what settings you put on the Bass, Mids and Treble.

  • Thanks for taking the time to post this great demo- is there a reason you chose the head/amp vs. the combo? I'm looking at one of the and the combo seems a lot easier package to deal with - but is a separate head going to sound better?

  • @blaze591 ..hey man. I have played the combo version and it is a little bassier/bigger sounding than the head and cab version. I mostly use my amps in the studio so having the head and cab just works for me. I use the Tweaker with different cabs all the time in the studio. Live I use it with the matching cabs. I will say the combo is pretty heavy compared to the head and cab. Sound wise they are a bit different bass wise.Search "dognmoon" on youtube he did a comparison of the 2.

  • Really cool vid! I was about to buy a blackstar ht-5 when I got to try one of these...Instantly sold on it! The versatility of tone is amazing. I'll be buying one VERY soon. Through a 412 these things are absolute monsters.

  • Thank so much for you quick answer, I'm sold, let's find a dealer!

Enjoy music and your gear!, happy new year ( to come )

  • Hello, what a tone. Thanks for posting this, I think it's a fair review, at least is the one that convince myselft to take this amps over blackstar, blackheart or fender blues junior. Just two questions: what do you think about the built quality?, and, really that amp give that great at low - bedrom -apartment volume and then is good for small bar-venues ( 100 - 800 people )

Thank you very much and happy holidays, keep rocking!

  • @fuzzatface ..The build quality I think is solid and simple ( I changed the tubes and the inside looks solid). The bedroom tone is great. For this video I had to put the amp at a really low volume for it to sound good on my video camera. Finally, I do use it for big gigs and bar gigs no problem. If you need louder stage volume I would use a 2 x 12 with the amp head. Most of my gigs are volume controlled and we use in ears . Happy Holidays! It's a great amp!

  • would this head sound good with a mesa 2x12 cab or would the rebel 30 sound better ?

  • @chazatkinz1...I own a 2 x 12 mesa cab and 2 x12 orange cab both with vintage 30's in them. The head sounds great thru these cabs. The rebel 30's dirty channel is going to have more gain than the Tweaker. If thats your thing I will say the 30 would win out. However the amps are very similar but with the Tweaker having an edge in the clean tone dept.

  • would this head sound good with a mesa boogie 2x12 cab

  • I appreciate the demo and all, but you should play a variety of things in a demo in my opinion. I like to see the higher frets, scale works, clean sounds, hot sounds, etc. You did a fine job and I still like the video, but that's food for thought. Still, nice video. :)

  • @ChyronIsChillin ..thanks for the critique. I may not be the best guitar player to do scales and high fret stuff. But I appreciate the time you took to let me know. Merry Christmas.

  • It's the matching Tweaker cab. It's a celestion 30. Which is a 30 watt speaker.

  • Hi, which cab are you using? What is the speaker's power?

  • LOve it!

I see you also have MarshallClass5. Whats you opinion?

    I think Tweaker nails it!

  • @picajoool ..The Class 5 is great as well. I really like that amp. The Tweaker just feels like a boutique style amp and it is so versatile.

  • Hi, nice demo! I ordered one today (long run from USA to Brazil) so pls let me ask: how were the tubes packed? Did they arrive all in perfect condition? THX!

  • Too much talking dude!!!! just play the damn thing!!

  • if you shaved and you wore some shades then you'd look like joe satriani

  • Hi, good demo!!, but i have one question, is there a real difference between the USA and Brit Mode? I heard the difference is not that much, and that the Blackstar has a better simulation with the ISF control... have you tried the Blackstar HT series? I´m in between both amps and need to make a decision

  • what color les paul is that?

  • @poopilentes54 ..it's the tobacco burst I believe. I bought it from a friend of mine years ago.

  • Nice demo - some good sounds. However, one of my pet peeves is when an amp is demo'd with the Master so low that you can hear the string strums coming through. Amps, especially lower watt sound great with the master all the way up, but I know its hard to crank it without the camera mic clipping :(

  • @djtrouserfunk ..hey man...there is just no way to get an amp cranked for a video. I've tried 3 different cameras. I will say sonically the difference is the highs come out a bit when you crank the Tweaker. Otherwise EQ wise not a lot changes. The Amp gets loud and sounds good cranked. Also the clean tones with the master cranked sound great as well.

  • Great sound! How do you think this amp would hold up as a home metal amp? Maybe with a boost? I don´t gig so I thought this might be a reasonable sized amp for me.

  • @henkeH2 ..it's not gonna do metal if you want a high gain tone like a dual rec. It will do classic metal may be.

  • @MrBombhouserec I guess it depends on what kind of pedal you stick in front of it. I would rather have a boosted smaller amp for home use than a 100 W amp running on master volume 1. Dontcha think? : )

  • It would be nice to see how single notes separate /sustain,and articulate.Cannot hear any note definition. Definitely does the crunch rhythm with ease. Sounds like the Tourmasters crunch channel

  • Hey man, people have already asked if little this guy was loud enough to play out. 2 questions regarding this issue;

    1. Is it loud enough to hear onstage at a bar with a full band by itself, or do you need it mic'd coming back through your monitor to hear it?

    2. can it drive a 4x12?

Thanks, good playing in your videos btw.

  • @holzymrt ...It will drive a 4 x 12 and yes I have used it in a full band situation and cranked it on the stage in a bar situation and it was good for me (I prefer amp volume behind me instead of it coming from a monitor). Egnater will be putting a 40 watt version of the Tweaker next year. Thanks for the props...I'm a big believer in this amp.

  • Man that little thing kicks ass, huh?

  • @Craigman65..This amp is special for sure.

  • I've got to say...Modern/Brit/Gain up sounds insanely good on this video. Really sick man. Stock tubes?

  • @TheUnclesidandthegay ...yeah man using the stock tubes. But it's time for a change.

  • @MrBombhouserec Heard good things about Tung Sol 12ax7s in those tweakers (as well as a lot of other amps). Also heard that el34s in the power sound great with brit mode...which makes sense.

  • @MrBombhouserec

I replaced mine with JJ tubes from Eurotubes. Not a huge difference, but definitely sweeter cleans at lower gain, and better note definition at higher gain settings.

  • Do you have the Egnater Renegade or played through one? What is your opinion?

I bought a Blackstar Venue 100 W head and run it through an Egnater 2X12 cab. My next head may well be the Renegade.

  • @hawg427 ..I do not have a Renegade..that amp is little to big for my gigs. I need something portable and full of tone at the same time. I did spend sometime with one and I thought it sounded great. It's different than the Rebel or Tweaker. To me it has a killer Marshall time tone going but in the Egnater way.

  • what settings do you use? And what switches? Whats your favorite setting? I just got one about a month ago, and im still searching for THE tone...help would be appreciated, yours sounds great, i have the combo version, and a Gibson 60's Deluxe

  • @chase1410 ...hmmm..using a Gibson deluxe guitar I would start by using the Brit side, switched to vintage and the eq flat. Typically I use the bass cut with my gibsons on this amp. Try the cleans and the hot settings and play around with the gain a bit. I usually never let the gain get passsed 1 or 2 o'clock normally. Do you use pedals?

  • ha it looks like its across the room because this head is TINY! i ran into it at guitar center and i was like REALLY? but its amazing for the price!

  • @vetmanmarcus ..yeah man it's a great amp...however it seems a 40 watt version and a full sized head version are coming out next year. Exciting stuff.

  • I love how it looks like the amp is way across the room, and then you reach over and adjust the knobs. Cool optical illusion. Sounds pretty good too!

  • @slowpokerhino ...I just purched my Mac book pro up for the video...not the best quality but it does the trick.

  • sweet! how loud is this thing when turned all the way up? loud enough for a gig in a say high school auditorium? or a noisy outdoor festival stage?

  • @Holykatzbob ..hey man just got through using the Tweaker the past 2 nights at a 3000 plus people gig. I was fine with it....of course the PA system was off the hook huge...:)

  • @MrBombhouserec Sounds good, Thanks!

I had reservations about the whole 15 watts thing, I thought I would get a peavy valveking 100 W for the loudness, but now I'll definitey get this one!

  • @MrBombhouserec on clean setting it's loud enougth too??? I'm trying to decide between this and blackstar venue 20w or bugera v55, I really liked clean tones, and I'm looking for an "all terrain" amp, that could be mi amp for everithing, jamming, club gigs.......

  • @welfo..hey man..the amp does get LOUD with its clean tone..however Egnater is putting out a 40 watt version of the head next year. This will allow for just MORE volume period.

  • Does it clean up well with the guitar volume knob?

  • @pedecamp Yes it does

  • @pedecamp Yes it does

  • @MrBombhouserec.. have you played a Blackstar HT20 in comparison?

  • just got the tweaker and i love it!!!

You think you could give me some of your setting that you use for blues

  • @TheGuitareater they have a bunch off settings on their website

  • This amp is amazing. I bought the combo version and I can't stop playing.

  • Sounds very good! I might sell my Blackstar HT 20H for this one. The Ht 20 sounds too modern and has bit too much gain (It sounds really nice with the gain set low, though), So this head seems pretty much perfect for me.

  • have you been able to play with the effects loop yet? opinion of it?

  • Ricky? Dude, it's Casey Eanes' old roommate, Jared! Sounds great - you doing well?

  • @itsjerod ..dude! I remember you...things are great. Got 2 studios now....and the family is great....how are you?

  • @MrBombhouserec

Doin' well! Got married, working for a pharmaceutical company....things are blessed. I'm going crazy for one of those Tweaker setups.....trying to sell the Jet City JCA20H rig I picked up after playing the Egnater!

  • Amp is a killer!

  • nice amp ,,you sure love that dissonant e-chord don't you...lol

  • @HackerGuitarist ...lol...yeah man...been a riff I'm working on..it will end up on a tune soon...ha

  • @MrBombhouserec ..well I couldn't take it any more ..ordered a tweaker head, plan to get the cabinet also but have a 16 ohm 1 x 12 to tweak with for now..can't wait !!! for the price.. I would love to get 2 of these to A/B with !!

  • it would really rock if those settings were footswitchable! Would love to see demos that are on the 'no dirt' side. :D

  • Is this loud enough for gigs ?

  • @gazzaboy2531977 ...I think so...I used it a few weeks a ago in a loud band situation and it did fine. However I used it with a 2 12 orange cab. I normally play places where sound control is a must (churches, ect). But it gets loud...and still sounds good turned up.

  • @MrBombhouserec o you would def need the x2 cabs then. cool bud

  • @MrBombhouserec Hey I've got an Orange 2x12 and was thinking about just buying the head,...does the amp sound better through the Orange or the stock cab in your opinion?

  • @MrOpinionNation ...that Orange 2x12 cab is killer. The tweaker sounds great thru it. The speakers in the orange and the egnater tweaker cab are very similar sounding. If you need more volume go with the Orange...if you need portability go with the tweaker cab...That Orange cab is such a beast...

  • How does it respond with an OD and a Dist box? does it have a bias trim pot or it's fixed bias? awesome demo btw!

  • @Zhorellski ..it is great with stomp boxes....I believe it is fixed bias...you can tube swap..6L6's,EL34's and ect....:)

  • @MrBombhouserec Good to know it's fixed bias!! I bought one yesterday at GC and it rocks! tubes runs a little hotter though?

  • @Zhorellski my rebel and tweaker both seem to run hot...

  • How is the matching cabinet? I use my custom 1x12"s with vintage alnico speakers. I also use a 1x15 bass cabinet with a cheap eminence pro sound speaker, believe it or not it sounds pretty good, quite unique. I like the fender mode in clean with the master cranked. Pretty loud. The only feature I think they should have fit in is a 5 watt mode for lower volume levels. 15 class A tube watts is really loud unless you outside or in a warehouse. -Pk

  • @pastorkev777 ..I prefer it with the Matching Cab for MOST gigs...When I need more volume (which is rare these days) I use a Orange 2/12 cab with the Vintage 30's in it. I am a fan of the Tweaker cab and use the head mostly with that cab.

  • Funny, until you reached over and tweaked it the vid made it look like it was further away in respect to the other egger. What long arms you must have! Anyway, great demo!

  • thank you soooo much!! finally a demo with a sense of a lil rock playing..all the other stuff is just boring blues and jazz..nothing wrong with it, it just gets very monotonous...im looking to buy this amp very soon and i play rock, at least, all the way up to metal..and some powerpop i guess....my brother has one, and he can shred with it...and ive been trying to find more of that on youtube, but so far ur the closest :) thanks a bunch

  • the Fender tone sounds crunchier!

  • I went immediately to Guitar Center and got one after hearing this and it is The Real Deal! so versatile and many many tones can be had with this one. Also, you can change tubes without having to bias. Just pop em in and out and your ready to RAWK!

  • Been recording with it this week...it's the real deal....

  • nice grit! that little things sounds mean.
