Just finished playing a Hyper Realistic Strategy video game called Close Combat: The Longest Day. Wanted to 'see' the beaches and the horror of war for myself, headed over to youtube, and viola! found this. Great video, poignant....somber...
Herb, just wanted to say this is the best video of the area my WWII buddy went "within the first wave" as he says "nobody knew who was in the 1st wave, we were milling around like a bunch of cattle puking our guts out" "only by the grace of God did I survive Omaha" He went on to fight "engaged with the enemy" 222 days!! I thank you for the Chopin Nocturne how befitting, so much so than the usual rock I hear as music for Omaha videos!! It's the best, many thanks. Jack B. Warden is my WWII friend.
Also, great work annotating the videos properly, and not through Youtube's ugly red tint text boxes.
