The Fair: Fast Rides! Woo Hoo! And Animals Too =)

My husband couldn't stand rides that went in a circle; so, at the local amusement park, we would ride every single roller coaster, then leave. (I'd have to take a Dramamine before riding the Vortex.)

He did let me go on the ferris wheel, my favorite ride. He waited while I rode it alone. I love it so much, I don't care when I have to go on it alone.

This video was awesome, I loved it.

I've always love roller coasters, but about 11 years ago, I was invited on a day trip on a sailboat. I had never had motion sickness before, so I eagerly accepted... I can't begin to tell you how miserable I felt! And ever since then, I'm sensitive to motion sickness. But I'm not going to let it stop my fun ;) So the day before any plans that might be a problem, I start taking the dramamine. Woo Hoo! :P

Me too! I even pick up and talk to frogs when I go for a walk. LOL! And an armadillo wandered into the street in front of me the other night. I was talking to it and shining the flashlight on it because I know they can't see very well, but I didn't know they couldn't hear either. He got about 2 feet in front of me before he even noticed me. He was so cute. He suddenly stopped and waddled off the other direction.

The Minnesota State Fair is the largest in the whole USA! Take that, sunshine state.

Oh, I forgot to say: if you have a lake or pond and raise wild ducks on it they'll stay as long as you feed them. Raise a couple of geese with them and the geese will adopt the ducks as their own and protect them from predators. We have Momma Goose and Goose Goose. They rush the ducks over for feeding and when they've had enough they herd the ducks back to the water. Geese will talk with you all day, but need to have the last word.

Looked like you certainly had a great time! I haven't been to a fair and rode the rides in ages. I need to do that. I love the rides, it's the long lines that kill me, not to mention my feet. I liked how you were all baby talk to the gerbils and immediately said "Dinner" when you went to that first chicken, LOL.

One time when I was young, younger then I am now I went in a glass house and I saw my mother and walked towards her and ran right in the see threw glass wall I had a big grape colored bruise on my head. And I love them rides were you go round and round real fast then get off and throw up :) ...MIKMA WAS HERE

Do you think any single person with no kids, parents, family, spouse should ever be left unasked to a Christian brother or sister's house for Christmas? To be asked to be involved with that family for the day?? I was not asked and 2 of my friends were not asked. Makes me thing Christians are just like the world--& made me pretty sad & mad.

I can't speak for anyone else. I don't know what their families had planned. We usually invite people, but they never come.

I'm not sure you can expect someone to invite you into their home, so the mad feeling may be misplaced -- but sad, for sure. There is always an extra present under the tree and place at our table. We've always invited those alone for the holidays to our house. We also adopt a child or this year a family and provide Christmas for them where they live.

That spinning rides used to be among my favorites as a kid, but at some point they started making me nauseus.

This was fun! And you paid the (most likely expensive) entrance fee so we wouldn't have to.

Actually, there are some other parks that have caught on, and are putting Disney to shame. And yes, I know MGM and Pleasure Island are owned by Disney. But not Universal :P And I honestly don't feel any "magic". I've been too many times. It's long gone. =/

When I go to Disney, I head straight for Space Mountain, then a quick run the the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, then the Haunted Mansion, then I'm outta there to Park Hop elsewhere =) I think the prices of everything inside the park may be part of my issue with it. Oh! And the long lines if you go at the wrong time of year, but I don't make that mistake.

That looks like a wicked time. It brings to mind my childhood and going to the annual fair our parish used to host. I always looked forward to that each year; some of my best memories come from that!

But I have a question. What is a Gravitron? Is it as obvious as it sounds: a machine that eliminates the effects of gravity? It looked like you were just floating!

You get in the Gravitron and it spins really fast until the sliding board you're leaning against, slides up to the ceiling. You can barely even turn your head to the side. I had to try really hard to get the camera on my daughter. =/

i love the fair this year was my first year to be able to go by myself...that didnt turn out so well. so lets just say that it was my last. lol

my best friend showed animals so i had to stay with the stupid cows most of the time

the gravitron is my favorate ride to. last year i was wearing my retainer and it went so fast that it cut my lip because it was pushed up agianst it so long....,it was awesome
