  • Thanks, nice review, I was looking for such player details before buying it. But why on earth you didn't put the curtains on that window?? Backlight is terrible...

  • @dotto59 I completely agree with you. I was filming the review at work and not at home so curtains weren't an option. My latest reviews have improved though. I promise lol.

  • i invented this and got beat by big companies 6 month patent pending, 2 year manufacturing overall of 12500$ = profit!!

  • it would appear to support hot swapping now, i constantly do it.

  • does it have rar support?

  • @meastro2k no it doesnt although a rar file is a compressed file like zip. So you may have contents in that rar file which the neo tv could play, you would just need to unpack the rar file :)

  • I cant say that I have used those other products, I am hearing from others though that the best competitors to this product is the Apple TV and the Western Digital Live.

Let me know how you go with your decision. This product was a solid unit which I didnt want to give back!

  • Great review. Love the fact you can go forward and backward in a video. However, if you stop a film say halfway through can you pick up from where you stopped ? What webcam are you using to record this, holy moly it's great !?

  • @ImahGoer If you PAUSE video and go back to the menu etc no problem, however if you STOP a video then it goes back to the beginning, similar to the experience in Windows Media Player.

I use a Logitech 9000 webcam, I actually dont think its great at all and will be filming reviews on a Cisco Flip UltraHD.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • @gquattromani Thanks for the reply. Well compared to some videos on youtube it's positively cinematic :D. I am liking this product more and more. There are many media players on the market and it's a tough decision. I keep fluctuating between this and the Dune Max plus the AC Ryan Fluxx is going to be making an appearance......

  • Thanks for your reply.....that helps me in choosing a media player a great deal.

  • Thanks for the preview!

    Two questions -

    1. When you are playing music files in a folder, will the NEO550 play them in order automatically or do you have to click on each song?

    2. How did your AVI and WMV files look? I am wondering if standard def. videos look ok or if only HD files look good.

    Thanks.

  • @JoiseyRepresent Thanks for the feedback!

    1. The music can be played on shuffle or in order of track number. It does this automatically.

    2. Standard def videos didnt look too bad, I ran the Neo TV at home on a 50inch TV and while it was obviously not high def viewing it was still very viewable and in most movies it wont make a difference. The reason I demonstrated with HD files is just to show how fast they load.

Let me know if I can help further!
