  • So peaceful!

  • harry potter?

  • alot of awkward moments

  • awsome!!!!

  • ありがとう!

  • In the UK, you should take your shoes off in someone's house. If your in someone else's house, they would probably say "you can put your shoes over there" or something. I think it's the same in australia and new Zealand but I'm not sure

  • isn't it that mostly in the US ppl walk inside with their shoes on? do they do that in the UK? i doubt, but i dont know :D or australia?

  • Oh yeah, i need to go to japan. To take my shoes off in the house, put them at the front door, then get to walk about in socks. :)

HA GRANDMA YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO YELL AT ME NOW CAN YA'?!

  • Harry Potter!

  • Oh My Got ... So Cute ♥

  • Those two girls are SO precious. X)

  • i just cat immagine sitting on a toilet like that... :|

  • omg sooo kawaii!! cuutttteee little girls they say stuff so cute :D

  • I LOVE JAPAN

  • So many asian countries split their toilets and washrooms, I think its genius, someone can take a dump and someone can take a shower at once :O

  • @MrTims23 Split toilets and washrooms are common in Russia too, it was a shock for me to see that it's not when I came to Canada.

  • @MrTims23 I have the same at home... and I live in Switzerland. I thinks it's better too ;-)

  • @MrTims23 Our Bathroom and Toilet are like that and we're not from japan. XD

  • There's practically no difference from countries like the USA and Canada

  • Wow, they're so chubby

  • WHAHAHA THEY R SO CUTE

  • I think it would be so nice to have a Japanese-style bathing room. I really want one!

  • These two are soo cute I cant hold it! (^_^)

  • yay Harry Potter :3

  • @xMoac not everyone in America walks in a house with their shoes on. I don't.

  • Omg at the end was that Harry Potter XD

  • @croire63 do you have to learn japanesse to get a scholarship in japan?

  • OMG THE TOILET AND THE SINK HAVE SEVERL SEPERATE ROOMS!

  • SHE WALKS UP STAIRS JUST LIKE ME :D

  • lol when you say host it's like you're saying you're a parasite.

  • i think my queen size bed is bigger than their bedrooms

  • I have never seen such a clean house like this one. That's one thing I love about the Japanese people. They are very tidy.

  • In Europe, you ALWAYS take off your shoes when inside a house.

it seems to be only in American were people walk with shoes inside houses..

  • @xMoac i live in germany and when ma mum has customers at home they walk with shoes inside the house. just the family and friends take off their shoes

  • @87animegirl87 ok thanks for the info, did not know that.

But still someone walking with shoes inside a house is rare to say the least.

  • gosh those two are so cute^^

  • D'aaaaaaw kono kodomotachi ga hoonto kawaii yo xD its amazing how good their english is wow!

Why did you film this ?

    you're horrible.

  • you sold your host family on the internet.

    despicable.

( they look like adorable and nice persons though )

  • If it were me...I wouldn't even bother folding up the ttatami mats..I would just leave them there go to school come back home xD treat it like a real bed!

  • Question?? How do you wash your hands after you go to the toilet??? Do you go to the shower place next door??

  • @xXRakeruHaniiXx There is a sink connected to the toilet, actually! xD It saves water! If you look at the toilet again, you'll see it.

  • Aww they remind me so much of my host sister who were 8 and 10!!! :( I miss them do you miss you host sister?

    I'm honoustly pretty amazed

  • So since this video was from 2004 have you gone back to visit? This is something I really want to do. Was it just a semester or?.. and also those girls were so adorable. Their English is very good.

  • is it me or were, in the tv upstairs, they watching Harry Potter?

  • @rockleebroccoli01 Yes they are.

  • where are there beds?

  • japan is beautiful :D

  • Woah... you showed their house number and everything... what if someone goes and steals their shit... I would blurred the front of the house

  • 2004? Wow! Your host parents and sisters are six years older now! Are you ever curious on how they're doing?

  • I have a few questions.

    1. What is a "host" family?

    2. Did you learn Japanese before you went there?

Sounds like a lot of fun. Cute kids too. (:

  • The children were so very kawaii, you were a very lucky person to be in such beautiful country.^-^

  • The two girls are speaking english verry well! I didn`t expect that! I`m really surprised...:-)

Usualy the japanese folks don`t speak english that well...

    I learned something again...

    Thanks for Upload.

    mata ne!

  • how do u get a host family at japan?

  • you have to kill somebody in your own country then try to hide in a different country :D

    (sarcasm madness)

    For real i don't know :D

  • @merache hey~ a bit late~

But most people go with an exchange program and it depends on if you're in high school or in college. And I only know about High School Exchange so tha's all I can say anything about XP

But the three...sorta most popular programs are Rotary, AFS, and YFU~ You should research on your own though~XD

  • Thanks, heh. Have u been in japan before?

  • @merache hehe~ No actually XP I'm workin' real hard to study abroad there my Junior Year (HS) tha's why I know so much about it~ Even though I'm still in HS, I've researched on college S.A too XD

I'm gonna try and go through Rotary...I was converted from AFS XP

  • There's actually a school there called S.A.??!?!? o.O makes me want to study abroad too... T_T

  • @merache XD No~ sorry for being unclear~ S.A=Study Abroad/Studying Abroad XP I meant researching studying abroad in college~

Though if you looked...there'd probably be a college named S.A in Japan XP

  • XO oh haha. Is it really hard to be able to study abroad? what're the requirements?

  • special A class

    XD

  • you get a host family through student exchange programs other way is by searching (newspapers, web etc.) for families who are willing to host someone for a set amount of time and yen (way less then renting your own apartment)

  • These girls remind me of my nieces. :) So cute and sweet.

  • What are those feet up in the air at the end? LOL! Cute little girls act the same everywhere in the world.

  • Extremely good English spoken by the Japanese kids considering their age. Great pronunciation too! Thanks for the upload.

  • Wow. I like it there. Do the parents not sleep together? I want to go too!!! DX (( stupid time go faster!!! ))

  • thats a good sized house.. I like it. thanks for the vid <3

  • tk for the video !!!! you help my for my story manga xD !!!! really :)

  • its rare for japanese kids like that to speak english that goodt, and their accent was good compared to other japanese.

  • they got those awesome toilets which wash your arse for you :D i want 1 lol

  • LOL, the little girls are so cute! They seemed to enjoy showing their house. Nice vid and beautiful house too.

  • wow, thats a pretty nice house for a host family. Not everyone get a house like this. what organization did you travel with?

  • Cute video. Can't wait to see if I'll be going to Japan at the end of this school year. I've been waiting to go since I was a freshman in high school. :D

  • me too!

  • @drecorider

I know. I am a fresh now too and my parents want me to wait untill Jr. Year!! I want to go next year though...

  • Ah. I didn't know there was a Japan Trip until shortly after it happened my freshman year. Our school only goes every other year, since the school doesn't sponsor us, so everyone who goes has to get the money, plane tickets and everything ourselves. Because of that, there was no trip last year, but we've been saving so I can go this year. ^.^

I'm probably gonna upload a few videos I take while I'm there. Can't wait - it's the first two weeks of summer break for us.

  • So cuuute !

  • best real estate video ever! =)

  • you are sooooooooo lucky!!! how much japanese did you know when you were there?

  • i like the kids cuz they are so kawaii XD

i wish i could be an exchange student

  • you are sooooo lucky!

  • lol that girl is so cute!

"that is my grandfather and grandmother's へや です。"

    xD

  • omg. they are sooo cute!

  • Those two girls are very cute and full of life. It is funny how they climb on everything.

  • So cute. Big house too.

  • It isn't so odd to take shoes off at the door. We do that at our house. Keeps the floor clean and helps with my severe allergies. :P

  • @dracorider i live in finland and here no one is wearing shoes inside houses (except in public places of course) my mom always wonders how americans can keep their floors and carpets clean :D I also think it feels more comfortable not to walk with shoes all the time (:

  • @xxpinkstrawberriexxx lol not all americans walk with their shoes inside

  • @1loveandlife i know, not ALL americans, of course :D and i bet somewhere in the southern america they dont wear shoes at all lol

  • @xxpinkstrawberriexxx I'm American and only walk around with shoes when entering another persons home

  • @dracorider same goes to me :)

  • @dracorider my mom would kick my ass if i walked in the house with shoes on. im pretty sure like 70% of people take them off

  • @dracorider i think 90% of people on earth take their shoes off in the house. the odd ones might be the ones that don't?

  • @dracorider I know your comment is 2 years old, but I wanted to say that I do the same at my house. I always take off my shoes before I go in. No shoes allowed beyond the front door lol

  • @bloc22 Haha, almost forgot about this video. Went to Japan last year. If you ever get the chance, do it. :D

  • @dracorider Will do! Hope to go next summer. I'm working and saving money to go with my friend :)

  • that's a very nice house 0.0! those kids were so cute! where they twin? =O! cute matching outfits too lol

  • English is taught in all of the local Japanese Schools ranging from elementary up to university.

The frequency of usage of the English language is largely dependable on the family's influence , social or community association with foreigners and how they pick it up from the media.

But some ( like the French ) are quite arrogant or ignorant of the importance of English.

Oh well , thats homogenous societies for you . ( i am japanese so quite pointing fingers at me - laughs out loud )

  • How is that girls English so good?

  • Ummm....English IS tought in Japan's schools. >.>

  • French and Spanish are usually taught where i am but most people forget all of that because they don't use it. They just remember the basics. Another thing is that their pronounciation is actually pretty good which isn't common

  • they have a big house it seems other videos i seen of japanaesse homes are much smaller

  • they are so kawaii!!!

    i wanna go to japan!!!

  • Adooorable kids. Not their first time introducing their home I bet. Thanks for sharing.

I had a pleasure of experiencing it, it was comfortable.

  • OMG! かわいいいい~^ v ^!

  • That's a big house!

  • Nice Family.Cute Girls(KAWAII)!!!

  • KAWAII NE!!! are they twins?

  • At the end, I could hear Harry Potter in the background-haha

The girls' English is very good.

  • ok first, wow their english is good! to say they look so young! and second... i've noticed this a few times now... what is the cover thing on the bath and why does the shower come from the wall away from the bath? 0__o

  • The cover on the bath is to keep the water warm I believe. You shower (wash yourself) first, then get into the tub. That entire room is basically a shower, there's a drain in the floor so you just soap up and rinse. The tub is used only for soaking (i.e. relaxation)

  • oh ok thanks for the info =]

  • its a very nice toilet

  • nice host family you got there

  • I'll be living with a host family next year in Japan at Waseda, I hope I have little guides like that :)...they're so adorable.

  • your host family's house is BIG considered it in Japan! wow. Japanese's toilet is much more advance than US. I have stayed in 2 houses in Japan and their toilets smelled. I don't know why. I didn't ask quest. because I didn't want to be rude. Have a nice stay in Japan.

  • awsome..=]..

  • hahah they r adorable.

  • Well, that's just you and your brothers' opinion. Please don't make ignorant generalizations like that.

  • Wow from a man who has never even been there, I have been to japan many times and love it so much I am moving there very shortly, you will get out of anything what you put in.

  • good luck , you will need .

  • How do you sign up for exchange programs?

and they are so cute. i adore Japan ppl ;]

  • What a cute family! Especially the elder sister:)

I can't help laughing every time I see a Japanese toilet. Why do they need all those buttons and electronics? I expect them to connect the toilet to the Internet soon.

  • so host family's speak japanese and english

  • Ohh, so that's what a Japanese house is like. I've seen parts of them in animes and J-dramas, but I've never seen the whole thing before. And was that Harry Potter playing in the background at 4:27?
