Just a quick note you mentioned that the white matter may contain myelinated or unmyelinated axons. Just to clarify the white matter contains myelinated axons while the grey matter contains dendrites and unmyelinated axons.
OH-EM-GHE, I wish you were my professor! The amount of time and precision you took in making these videos has paid off tremendously for me! I am a first year med student who was overwhelmed by my Neuro final in 2 days. I am currently going through all of your tutorials and I am understanding this info for the first time! I feel so empowered, thank you so much!
Yup.. action potentials are definitely trigered at the axon hillock... i think i said that in one of the tutorials where i explained neuronal structure.
No I just tryed to say that there are some doubts in it that means the opposite I misspelled a word I cannot find u a refference now because Im very tired but I promise that I will so u can chack your self. Greeting
Lanthanideatoms I thought it was hyperhigs I just noticed different name, thus no not at all ;)
@UrosPetrovicPSY All incoming action potentials through the dendrites are summated in the axon hillock. either in time (temporal summation) or in space (spatial summation) if all these summations reach above the cells resting membrane potential to threshold, then calcium ion channels are opened in the hillock, and thus begins the action potential propagation down the axon.
Dear hyperhighs impressive video and great job. You are the best! Just a correction for Walid that the grey matter (in addition to dendrides) even though mostly consists of cell bodies it does in fact have some axons mostly unmyelinated. White matter consists of mostly myelinated axons because it's involved in long distance communication. The axons in the grey matter are merely for local network communication. Cheers.
thank you for these videos, calm, concise, clear and patient. I'm ten years out of med school but it is a delight revisiting these topics, so well demonstrated. I appreciate the time they took to do.
Salam, great job.

However once again great work. Keep it up!!!

Wow! Terrific set of tutorials! I learned more from you in a 5 minute tutorial than I have in 3 hours of my college anatomy class! Thank you!
