How to fix Firefox's Newtabs from being hijacked by Yahoo.

You left a comment on one of my videos a few days ago (I have deleted said video after your comment), but I couldn't send you message through your channel because I keep getting the message "Channel not available" from Youttube; what is up with that?

Any way, the video was my thoughts on Wicca not being so much a created religion, as it has existed for thousands of years, and you said "You really show ignorence when you just disregard all historians who have done extensive research"....

@OneWiccanHighPriest I used to get about a thousand messages a week from people trying to get me to subscribe, so i set it to not allow people to view it, it was clogging my inbox bad. You can not just change history to fit your own wants. It didn't exist before the 1900's, No matter how much you wish it to be so. There are absolutely no records, or story's to support it being an ancient religion.

@2013Epsilon And I have been trying to say, and will say, and will continue to maintain that not all of our Wicca ancestral knowledge is in written form - anywhere - period. Much of that knowledge was handed down witch to witch, to be put into their Sacred Texts so that it could ever carry on; This is how I have been trained to believe, and it is what I know. If you cannot accept that, then obviously you aren't meant to see the larger picture here.

@OneWiccanHighPriest Your getting Druidism and wicca mixed up bud. There would have still been aincent roman records of it, or statues, or other artifacts of it. There is nothing before the 1900's. There isnt a larger picture in terms of history in wicca. What you have been taught simply has no place in what actually happened, If you try to change history to suite your own needs, it will be the downfall of it. You should teach what really happened, not fabricate your own stories.

@2013Epsilon Wicca is more likely to be a modern off shoot of the ancient druids, who passed down much of their knowledge from mouth to mouth. Who ever taught you may have meant that. If you cant accept real history, and teach others false versions of reality, You will undermine the new generation looking for spirituality and truth.

this is recomended as a solution if you use firefox 4 i use firefox 3.6 well this did not work for me and i found the same solution on another website , this is how i solved this issue , i opened firefox addons and i just disabled the lastest addon i downloaded for firefox for me it was ((Veehd plugin)) after i disabled this yahoo didnt appear anymore in new tab , hope this can help others , thank you

Thanks. I used your good advice, but my veehd was in fact the second to last, not the last, add-on. So it is veehd, and not its position in the list. No doubt thare are other sources too.

@palrobbie well its cool that you had veehd disabled , so at least people can know that a likely add on to disable can be veehd

This worked, then it came back (again)! Turns out it is sneaking in with Java! You have to also uninstall then reinstall Java, and watch for the check box asking if you want the Yahoo toolbar - un-check it. I think I am Yahoo-free now.

@kayeql There are multiple ways that Yahoo will hijack your computer. Java is one of them, but not just java.

Yes, once and a while it will come back. Unfortunately Yahoo thinks it has the rights to do this.
