I always wondered why double dragon had to end with the two brothers fighting each other for the damsel in distress. Why couldn't they just share her? They saved her from being made a sex slave for all the bad guys to have their way with so for her to allow a 3 way with her saviours shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

What people don't understand is that this is truly the final boss fight of the entire game, if you play co op through out the entire game, you'll fight for the girl. Literally the other player dies and the other one makes off with the girl!

Its funny how the true plot of that game is even more fucked up then that. Marion was really Billy girlfriend but Jimmy was also in love with her and he is the one who ordered the thug to capture her. All this time, he was just hoping the thugs would murder Billy like he ordered them too and then he would go save Marion alone and 'confort' her. Thats why, at the end of the game, the two brothers fight to death, because at this point, Billy had no more thugs to throw at Jimmy.

When I was a little kid, there was a Double Dragon Arcade machine in the hotel where i was on vacation. I spent hours watching older kids playing that game.

Finally two teenagers, who were really good at the game, beat the last boss. They had fought very, very good together, a really good team. They just looked at each other, and then synchronously jumped into the spike pit, killing both their characters.

That really impressed me, they would rather "lose" both, than fight each other.

Just a story, as a kid when I first played Double Dragon for Sega, me and my older brother reached the final level and cleared all enemies, we literally wasted 10 mins without knowing what to do, he then punched me, I told him "Stop, lets try and figure this out", he attacked me again, before I knew it he accumulated so much that damage that when I finally decided to fight back I was dead.

He then walked up to the girl and took her, can't express how angry I was as a kid, I even cried.
