  • I think you did a great job, don't listen to the smart asses trying to insult your project...

  • @TheIzzlyBear thank you

  • @404aqua that's offensive..

  • photoshop much? shit

  • @DBMunplugged seriously? its not photo-shopped, these are pictures of real people...

  • @nohomo29 actually in my research i found that in other countries they love models this thin, so they are real not photoshopped photos of models from other countries. and is not a lie, believe what you must, this is all from a well researched project.

  • what grade did you receive??

  • @RedwineSuccess116 it was a pass fail and i passed

  • @RedwineSuccess116 it was also a project that was not just a video. I was in a school for youth ministry and we were to choose a topic and come up with a way to start the discussion with teens, so for this project this video would be shown and a discussion about it and what it means by does thin = beautiful would follow and then the girls in the class that i would theoretically present this to would have to come up with their own video on the topic.

  • Okay people. This is to show the "idealistic" body form and face yada yada... but they're also showing that, in strive to become that "perfect" person people develop serious eating disorders and result in disease like anorexia. It's saying be comfortable with yourself. It's saying don't take the way you want to look to extremes... to be content in who you are and that you don't Have to look like these models. There are people who are not this thin but are not fat and they Are beautiful.

  • @spaceispointless thank you for your comment and for understanding where this is going!

  • @sjoyf

well, i mean, it is their bodies and their choices, and if that's the path they want to take, it should be respected as they have chosen being skinny as their priority... i know it is not easy, and i know it is a struggle (well, i have a slight issue with depression if it is not body dismorphia syndrome) but there is nothing worse than being seen as most people look at them...you can even look at some of the hateful comments some have written....

    either way skinny is beautiful.

    xx

  • OMG i cant believe people critic anorexia SO much! it is a valid lifestyle....i mean, around many many more people are overweight which is just as unhealthy...but you dont see people critizicing them for that...instead, just a little percent of population is skinny, and all the jealous people critizice it because they cant be so perfect...dont take it wrong, you dont have to be thin to be beautiful, but people should have less prejudices and be a little more open-minded

  • @TheSkyTheMoonAndMe Its not about being skinny. Anorexia is a serious mental illness, completely different from being just skinny

  • People who become anorexic are phonies. They want to become thin in the worst way possible because they can't exercise. And to me, only phonies do that shit.

  • @Dgamer21 anorexia is a serious mental disorder in which no matter how thin they actually are the believe they are fat and overweight. They are not phonies, they are ill and need help.

  • @Dgamer21 well....u are erring there....most anorexics do exercise and a lot...a little research might show you that :p (over-exercising and doing tons of cardio is even one of the normal symptoms...) and they are not phonies... btw hate takes nowhere so dont lose your track doing hateful critics and judgements...

    xx

  • There's such a thing as being physically fit and "trim". Then there is anorexic and "gaunt". All I can think of is the way those holocaust survivors looked when the concentration camps were liberated. It's too bad young girls are taunted so much for being a little bit "plump".

  • I'm not fully understanding this video.. there are some images showing how people have a disorder, that i understand, other parts are showing images of people profiting off of that with model shoots... i'm not sure which makes me more upset..

  • @rspikowski i showed models because thats what girls look up to, their idea of "a perfect body"

does that clear it up a little for you?

  • @rspikowski also the sound was removed and the music adds to the message of the video alot! in the beginning of the video i posted a link were you can see it with sound!

  • i think alot of them girls look stuning :) some were too thin but if they choose too be that waaay then 8-)

  • Great video. Too bad they disabled the music. Is there a way to play it with the song. I had anorexia / bulemia. It is such a horrible trap to be in.

  • you aren't using the right terminology. By asking the question "Do you think thin=beautiful" and showing images of anorexic women, you are assuming that people who think thin=beautiful have the mental disorder of anorexia. I do not have anorexia and I think thin= beautiful. What you mean to say in the first slide is "do you think anorexia=beautiful." Thin and anorexic mean two completely different things, one is a description of physique, and the other is a DISORDER.

  • i think you miss the meaning of the question... those who have anorexia believe that being that thin is the only way to be beautiful. and there are millions of girls out there who think that they arent beautiful because they are not thin...

  • this video was simply made for awareness, and to let girls know that they are beautiful just the way that they are, and they should starve themselves or make themselves throw up in order to become what the world says is beautiful. i hope i cleared up the point of my movie.also, the sound was taken off and the words of the music are a very big part of the message of this video.

  • sorry, its suppose to say should not...

  • Being thin is not a bad thing

  • but being thin to the pont where we can see your bones, where your body starts disappearing.... and you are dying because of it... that is bad.

  • @sjoyf Then your title is misleading. Change it to, "Do you think Anorexia is beautiful" NOT THIN!

  • @Haseeebo I dont believe my title is misleading. its simply a question, do you think you have to be thin in order to be beautiful. in todays society a lot of girls believe that they need to be model thin or unrealistically thin to be beautiful. The point of the movie is that they are beautiful the way they are.

I dont think do you think anorexia is beautiful would be an appropriate title.

  • @sjoyf well all the images you are showing are of anorexic individuals. So your title is extremely misleading. Why not show regular thin girls? Not the extreme cases of those skeletons you'd like to call models. There are tons of models out there that are fairly normal, and besides that...most girls just don't want to be fat OR anorexic.

Seems like you're just hating on people with beautiful slim figures.

  • @Haseeebo I don't get why your mentioning that they're anorexic. they may be they may not be, but all i'm trying to say is that bulimia and anorexia both have the same goal, to get skinnier. Both damage the body, so why does it matter which one it is? It's not like someone will get on here to do a project.. i mean seriously? Calm yourself.

  • @isthatthedoorbell They may or may not be? Are you blind or retarded? Yes the goal for Bulimia and Anorexia is the same, to get skinnier, and both damage the body BUT both of those do not equate to THIN. It's not about someone obtaining misinformation. This video propogates hatred towards people who are thin, and discourages a beautiful slim figure, by feeding them something completely different.

Just because you're fat and ugly, doesn't mean you can crap on people who are thin and beautiful.

  • @Haseeebo ACTUALLY.. im not fat. I weigh just over 101 pounds and im 15 years old, and im 5 feet 6 inches. yeah i wouldnt call that fat. I'm not bashing skinny people, i'm just saying that it may not be anorexic. they could be BULIMIC. That was my only point so.. no im not blind OR retarted. Thanks.

  • @isthatthedoorbell You're point was idiotic. Thus so are you.

  • @Haseeebo whats with u calling other people idiots all the time?? Get over it!!

  • @Haseeebo

No, the point wasn't idiotic, the ARGUMENT was.

  • @isthatthedoorbell Nope. You're idiotic.

  • @Haseeebo It's dumb that the only comeback that you have is saying that someone or something is idiotic. MAYBE one day you'll get over yourself and realize that i'm not the idiotic one.

  • @isthatthedoorbell Cool story. Keep bitching cuz your fat, and way to respond to a comment posted a month ago. Maybe you outta get over yourself before telling others to.

  • @Haseeebo I'm done with this pointless conversation.

  • @Haseeebo These are true people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know it may look very far fetched, but i know people who have had eating disorders... some of them look exactly like the girls in this video. Its scary and its REAL!!!!!!!!! Even though you might not know someone with an eating disorder doesn't mean its not true!!

  • @bsmith32ify You are an idiot.

Never did I say these people did not exist. I'm a Kinesiology and Health Science student. I had an entire unit on eating disorders and never have I suggested in any of my comments that these people dont' have eating disorders or that the images are fake. For you to assume that makes you an ignorant moron.

The issue is with the title. Thin is beautiful, anorexis isn't. It's misleading.

  • @Haseeebo you still are not understanding where i was going with the title and video, either that or you just love arguing and playing devils advocate. but either way, you arent getting the point of the title. i have said it before, and do not need to repeat, you can look back and see my previous response.

  • @sjoyf The title does not reflect the meaning. Once again, that's like me sayin "So you think Muslims are peaceful?" and putting up terrorist videos. I could do the same for Christians, Americans, Chinese w/e. You're generalizing with extreme situations. People who watch this will associate thin with bulemic/anorexic. You're propogating the issue rather than helping it. You can intend to make whatever point you like, but if the point does ot reflect the title, it's useless. Anyways, I'm done.

  • @bsmith32ify What would you say If I made a video, where the title said "Do you think Muslims are good" and showed you pictures of terrorists?

Or "Are Americans smart" and showed you pictures of stupid rednecks and other moronic individuals like yourself?

Don't be so stupid next time you try to rant about something you clearly do not understand.

  • @Haseeebo WOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!! What the heck r u tlking about???!!!! Clearly ur the 1 who doesn't understand it!!!!!!!

  • being thin isn't a bad thing, its just a bad thing a lot of people try to keep themselves as thin as possible just because photographers want them that way.

  • those girls need to put some meat on there bones i would rather have a little junk in the trunk than be that!

  • My Grandmother is anorexic, and she is disgusting to look at...instead of legs, she has stilts.

  • thin is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L.

  • Even if i TRIED Id never be anorexic or bulimic.

I love food too much! Food is to CHERISH!

  • i had an eating disorder for a while. thank God i got help b4 i looked like that. thanks u for making this vid and raising awareness. the reason a lot of ppl dont get help is cuz their scared and feel alone.

  • Thin IS Beutiful.

Would you rather be 90 lbs or 300 lbs?

  • i would rather be 130 lbs, a healthy weight for my age and height.

  • Yea

  • Voice of reason, sjoyf, so what are you doing on a message board?

  • gotta start somewhere

  • Love Thyself!
