he winds up marrying someone else she stays but as something mediocre I saw it a long time ago. I remember also being VERY upset that it didn't have a happy ending. The anime doesn't go into his life with the other lady much they only mention it in the last episode

Sorry for ruining it for you but it's really a sweet story. Uh hm have you see Fushigi Yugi? It is one of my favs, it has everything romance, adventure, traveling between worlds and a happy ending. You'll never find a boring moment. Just when you think you have it figured they throw you a curve. this is one of the few anime I have seen I haven't read the manga...:D

honestly i love how the anime look here beautiful and handsome but i hate the love story ...shuurei in the end did not end up with ryuuki haizt it upset me ryuuki waited for shuurei but shuurei just want to serve the people ...and she can't give a love back to ryuuki............geeeeeeeeeee­z it pisses me off hoping in the end shuurei will at least be sweet with ryuuki geeeeeeeeez but still it ends up like a crap hate it!

@pirateZevelyn (SPOILER) the second season of the anime ends with Ryuuki telling Shuurei that he will spend a certain amount of time trying to get her to fall for him. If he can't get her to love him in that time frame, he'll give up and marry someone else. So I guess the scenario could go either way :P
