Andy Hung ,sin duda el mejor luchador que e visto ,me dolio mucho saber de su muerte , es una gran lastima ,nos regalo su ultimo combate y sus incomparables achas .que dios te tenga en su gloria .
it hurts me seeing his face 1,5 month before he died i am wondering what he was thinking back then.... he knew he was dying.... Huge respect 2 one the of the greatest martial artists ever R.I.P. Andy!!!
Living in North America and being born and growing up many years after Kickboxings primary run of popularity in the 60's-late 80's I never got much of a chance to view Kickboxing as a sport. Sad because I always found Boxing boring and too restricted as a full contact fighting sport. All I have to say is I'm pretty happy that atleast MMA became a sport, otherwise I wouldn't watch much of it at-all, but if Kickboxing ever managed a revival in NA, I'd support it 100%!
You can see that he has lost weight and he seems a little more tired, somehow. I'm glad that he went out fighting and that he took a victory before the end. Too bad nobody beats Death.
did andy know about his disease before doing this match????....some people tell he took leucemia for steroids...i don't know...he was a great champion and karateka..osssssss
@lorenz87shamrock Yeah he knew that he had leukemia, but he was still fit enough to perform, but he was already on the point that he went ''smaller and sicker'' due to the decease, but he was just that guy who loved the game so much, that he would keep fighting.
@robbertvanelferen In Google if you type how to treat leukemia there are pages that explain how can leukemia can be treated and why didnt Andry get treated?
Rest in peace, one of the greatest warriors of all time. Amazing, he went from life like a champion, "retirering" from life with a last KO win...amazingly sad he passed away this young....really makes me cry.
He had to have known something was wrong with him physically. The Andy Hug in this fight is nothing like the Andy Hug in his previous 47 fights. He looks slow, sluggish, ill. Dead 17 days later? Shocking. At least he went out a winner.
Wow, he dies two weeks later after this of leukemia that is one of the insane thing Ive seen an athlete do. His body is basically rotting from the inside and he still kicked ass.
@SoundwaveSuperior373 Honeslty my friend I think the biggest issue is here is japans often lax medical screening/testing which appears to be an ongoing issue & is also a major issue in all but the most professional promotions. I'd hazard a guess that if proper screening & medical testing was preformed that an ill feeling mr Hug may have recieved vital medical assiatance earlier. Prime example of this was the BJJ ace who was supposed to go on TUF 10 who was found to have a tumor!
Rest in peace Andy Hug. OSU!

@lorenz87shamrock Yeah. Andy died about 1.5 month after this fight, and he was ''sick'' for a very long time.
But he wanted to fight one last time, just to see, in what condition he still was one, even though he was seriously ill.
That's to show, what kind of sportsman and true sport loving men Andy was.
Respect!

What I think is really sad is that you can clearly see he is not feeling well at all if you watch his movements and expressions.
Considering he died 48 dies later, he found out really late he was seriously ill...
if only he found out sooner.

He was alive then, he died 2 weeks later so he couldn't have done it.
But even here he looks well, I wonder how good I look myself ( see if I check these comments in 2 week tome )
