Okay, I'll give it a second listen tonight. I think I was in a bad mood when I posted that. You're right, by pre-Hex, I was referring to NMH and Plays that Good Old . . . , but I actually liked The Howling Hex better than those two, so I'm not sure where I was going with that comment. I think I just totally forgot about the Howling Hex CD.
I loved the last three Trux CDs, (four if you count Hang of Glory), so I'll listen to it with those CDs in mind.

Poor non-musical Jennifer's RTX is better than this. I don't get what Hagerty is trying to do here at all--this is just surfing music. I like some of his pre-Hex solo stuff, but he actually seems to be regressing.

Prog-regressing, maybe, but this is a dumb comment. 'Some his pre-Hex solo stuff'? There were only two releases. One of them? Both of them?
Anyway, at least three of the Royal Trux albums were in this vein. It's just sour grapes by married-couple fetishists that causes this kind of needless beef.
Start listening, stop mythologising.
