I tried.. I mean REAAAALY tried to like this game over the last week. The UI Is not good I get eye strain trying to read the text unless I really lower the resolution which blows.

The movement is sluggish then WOOSH, its hard to get used to straffing etc. If they wanted to be successful they wouldn't force players to relearn thinking. RTS games dont do it... FPS games dont change. MMO's shouldn't either.

Also this isnt a MMO its a single player RPG game online with other people around

The straffing is the same as other mmo's. And there are many fellowship quests that require at least 3 people, and they have huge raids as well, with as many asf 10 to 20 players. What game were you playing? In low levels no one parties together unless they are being helped by a high level. I do agree with the UI, I can see them fine, but they look bland and uninteresting. @Paperclown You couldnt be more wrong. First off, the UI is adjustable. 2nd if your having problems with slowdown and lag, thats not LOTRO's fault, its yours. The game is more social than any other MMO I've played. The people are friendlier, far more helpful, and you usually dont have to much trouble pulling together a group to do any of the fellowship instances that are there through the entire game as you level up. Of course you can group up to do regular quests too, people do all the time.

@DrRockso99: my comment was old. I got into this for a small bit, age of conan was fun. DDO lasted about a week for me before I got bored and has the most potential for free to play games to kill time before Cataclysm comes out.

I wouldn't recommend ddo or lotro unless you have IRL friends to play with. Solo'ing that junk gets old fast.

Is LotR easy to get back into if you have not played for a long time? Are there still people who can form fellowships or is everyone waaay ahead now. Also, is it possible to get back your old character or is it deleted when the contract expires?

Yes, I stopped playing for about half a year and thengot back into it, I dont know what you mean about the fellowship thing. And when your contract expires, you dont loose your character instantly, however, your characters do get deleted after 6 months or longer, as mine were :(

I got both lm and hunter at 50 and must say.. was way easier to quickly lvl up the hunter. Lms are powerful yes.. but hunters are easy to play solo.. easy and fast.

hunter is the easiest to lvl char . its teleporting abilities, along with its speed buff and crazy-ass dps make it the second easiest class to play, and thats the reason its the second most played class (losing only to champion) lm and burglar are "advanced" classes, which means they are the hardest to play good. have a burg, a lm, a cap and a hunter. burg is the hardest to play good, lm was the hardest to lvl. hunters are simple. end of story

WOW is just nothing if you look at the story and the graphics in Lotro. the graphics in Lotro are on very low even better then the very high graphics in WOW
