  • In the night we wander under addition of the moon; "more," it cries as it sees the unit move, children of the eye, children of the thoughts that make the world bloom to superior. When we see from the moon, we win once but not twice until Mars' battle cry.

  • Was in the audience with my sister. Amazing night i will never forget :)

  • Absolutely mesmerizing. Her voice is like from another world. DCD, my love:)

  • What language is this?

  • I was there

  • I took some friends to see the gig in Kentish Town. Awesome!

  • Was there if this is Kentish Town. Most tremendous experience of my musical life. I do not want the memory to fade - is there a DVD of the London shows/this tour anyone?

  • @selsmeister There was only the cd you could get from the officially. They gave you a leaflet when you went in. I got one from that night.

  • does anyone has the lyrics? I reaaaally need it

  • @Sertrex93 are you new to DCD ? this is glossolalia.. no lyrics..

  • TY. I've come late to DCD, damn! What talent! What a voice!

What album is that form? The Serpent's Egg?

  • You know the truth is that WE - A R E - The Lotus Eaters.

    Think about it.

We arrive to this place, partake of the pleasures / sorrows , and forget who we are. Where we have come from.

This is a paean to our Journey of the Heros.

    Blessed Souls that we are!

  • You think they could not diverce the music? I think they did not choose to do so... Mesmerizing!!!

  • What are you people like? This is track is pure waffle! Time signature is an unambitious 4/4 or 'common time', the chord sequence repeats with two bars on each chord ad nauseam, it's in the key of 'C' i.e. 'all the white notes', it's tempo-mapped to a lifeless click-track, the two percussionists don't vary their safe accompaniment at all! And where are all those other sounds coming from - the musician's-union-paid geezers at the rear with their laptops and MIDI crutches?

    Tuneless rubbish!

  • This is sexy.

  • The most amazing artists EVER.

  • @rangumai troll harder next time lol

  • @rangumai you have the culture of a gnat...

  • @rangumai

"They aren't playing fast, so this surely can't be music" - rangumai

  • l'album c'est "wake"(2cd)

  • this song makes me want to shag

  • Don't you just feel transported to a time long ago?

  • This is great, but it's too fast in my opinion. I prefer the studio version.

  • I took some friends to this concert and it was awesome! Lisa Gerrard has the most incredible voice. They delivered a magnificent show.

  • This brings back great memories. Thanks Marina Berni for introducing me to DCD in 1988! Luv them!

  • Thats amazing... I wish I was alive when these guys were touring. Dam that would be cool!!! haha

  • They are on tour this year, man.

  • DCD in the city of Bordeaux end of 80's . One of the best moment i spent in my life... never felt the same.....

  • oh! moi aussi j'habite Bordeaux! J'aimerais qu'ils y repassent!

  • I would pay anything to see this live.. I would sell my soul to see them perform Cantara like they did on Towards the Within live again.

I can't believe I used to need drugs to be overcome emotionally with the beauty of their music.

  • Seriously? You needed drugs to listen to this? or was this a substitute?

  • i agree. you don't need a chemical to enjoy beautiful music, unless you are intimidated by it I guess.

  • And if you sell it, what good would do to you to see them anymore? Lighten up, be patient and the Univers itself will conspire in fulfilling your dreams.

  • i love it

  • ah!

  • Γεια χαρά!

i d love to give my own explanation.

    Lotus is connected with Purity.

    And of course ...

Once you get there (to purity) you don t want to return to elder life.

    Have a beautiful day.

  • In Greek mythology, the Lotophagi (Greek Λωτοφάγοι, lotus-eaters) were a race of people from an island near North Africa dominated by "lotus" plants. The lotus fruits and flowers were the primary food of the island and were narcotic and addictive, causing the people to sleep in peaceful apathy. Scholarly attempts to link the lotos with a known narcotic have never convinced a broad spectrum of readers

  • thanks for the info, ptolomej<3

  • I watched a prgramme many moons ago about the lotus eaters being egyptian the blue lotus being taken as a ritualistic aphrodisiac wish i could remember more about it.

  • This is from the Odyssey... Something about the sailors started eating these magic lotus blossoms and losing their desire to return home. An early reference to drug addiction maybe?

  • Love this piece - It is mantra!!!

  • Sounds like a track playing in Eyes Wide Shut, creepy/sexy.

  • what language is she singing in?

  • She uses glossolalia. There are no words. She makes up syllables with no meaning and her own language, if you will.

  • GOD, I LOVE IT. NOT ONLY THAT, I understand HER, EXACTLY WHAT SHE MEANS. DON'T YOU?

  • LIP SYNCING CUNEIFORM

  • hands down favorite DCD track.

  • Lisa Gerrard has a voice of an angel.

  • just hits the spot

  • Gayle Moran and Flora Purim also have the voice of an angel

  • i missed their concert when they came to mexico like 2 years ago T_T

  • Me too :( !!!! it is so sad, i would sell my live to the devil to see them !

  • I went to the concert in Mexico City in 2005. Great show but a little slow; they played all their slow songs.

  • Marvelouuuuuuuus !!!!!!!! I love dcd

  • The voice from heaven never fails to please. Unsurpassing Beauty!!!! Thank you for posting this.

  • a very good song hehe,I just love it always..

  • Thanks!!! this is one of my very very favorites of DCD!!!!

  • Wow, I am so pleased this is on here. I was there, feels like yesterday, and it's still one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

  • i f-ing love dcd... they can really take you somewhere far away. you can almost see the opiated harem in afghanastan...

  • i had only head the Imperia version until now. i love there sound, very trance like. will definatly be listening out for more

  • Неожиданная ситуация всегда приходит с мудростью!

  • I think I was at this gig! Didn't they play two venues in London 2005? I was definitely at one of them but I can't remember the name of the venue. Anyone want to remind me?

  • Yes they did. The original show at the Barbican on April 6th sold out before Christmas. That venue was not available for a second night so Brendan and Lisa performed instead at The Forum in Kentish Town on April 7th.

    Thanks for your interest!

  • Thanks for the info! I saw them at The Forum in Kentish town. Which one is this video from? It looks like the The Forum venue from what I can remember, but for all I know the Barbican could have looked very similar since I've never been there.

  • This was recorded on April 7, 2005 at The Forum in Kentish town so this is the exact concert you saw. All of my DCD videos that I have on youtube are from the same night. I have the professionally recorded, limited edition CDs from the same night and am working on marying the CD sound with the video for the entire concert. Hopefully I'll be done by the end of summer.

  • Sounds like quite a task! I wanted the official CD for that night but they had sold out. However, I did manage to get hold of the Madrid CD, and I subsequently purchased a copy of the European 2005 Selection Disc, which I believe is a compilation of Brendan and Lisa's favourite picks of tour for each song.

  • It was a really impressive gig. All my friends and I really enjoyed it. Although the European 2005 CD's are good quality sound, I didn't think that they captured the percussion as well as they did for the album 'Toward The Within'. But I surmise that it would have been different sound mixers.

  • That's a fantastic idea, I hope you're having luck with it. I'd be ecstatically happy to help out if you're not, though! I'm so jealous that you were able to get one of those limited edition CD's!

Video quality is really ancillary to capturing great audio quality when it comes to live music, in my opinion. What program are you using to combine the files?

  • GREAT SONG!!!!!!!!!!

  • man their sound is hypnotic this is real music ive been listening to them for years

praise to DCD for being true artists and developing their unique sound. for this they have immortalized themselves with their innovative music.fav albums serpents egg, toward the within,

another very intresting group to give a listen "The Cocteau Twins" albums: treasure, pink opauqe, moon and the melodies

lisa gerrard is truly a siren.

  • Ozric Tentacles, Gong, Melting Euphoria, Steve Tibbetts, Aphrodities Child(Vangelis was their keyboardist), Patrick Bernard, Eat Static, System 7 and Mother Gong are great holistic bands as well

  • yes you named all the right bands but u forgot the best

    van der graaf generator

  • there's also a poem, besides in The Odyssey, called "The Lotus Eaters".

  • by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

  • So beautiful...

Thnx for posting, I love this song!!!

  • So beautiful...

Thnx for posting, I love this song!!!

  • thank u 4 this song i hope if u have the clip of byler

  • Don't quote me on this but i think this has something to do with "The Odyssey"? Something about eating lotuses and never wanting to return home?

  • Yeah, in Greek mythology they're a race of people that live on an island where they feed on lotus and remain in a constant state of apathy.

  • This is one of their only songs that seems kind of sloppy when they perform it live. The CD version is still one of my favorite DCD songs

  • you know where I can get this CD you have of this song? I tried looking online for the album that has this song and I cant find it.

  • I personally got it as an mp3 from a friend of mine years ago. I think he'd just gotten it from some file-sharing program.

As far as I know, it appears

    - on the third disc of the "Dead Can Dance (1981-1998)" box set

    and

    - On the second disc of their Best of release, "Wake"

  • I found it! thank you!!!!

  • It is a bit fast, but that how they played it probably. There are not lyrics, On DCD as ths is not a formal language!!

  • isn't the song a bit faster here than on the cd? or just me?

  • brilliant song, but better on the cd, slower was slightly more epic lol

  • MARAVILLOSO!

  • I need the lyric!

  • Me too!!

  • simply amazing

  • looking for the video of "into the labyrinth"...does anyone has ?

  • There is no video of into the labyrinth, the only existing promo clips off that cd are yulunga and the carnival is over. perhaps you could be refering to the live dvd toward the within?

  • Where can I get a copy of this DVD-RW you have?
