most people are retarded.....he`s just playing with this guitar to find the brown sound.....and he`s finding out that it`s just not the frankenstrat and that his new equipment can only go so far...I have played one of those and they are o.k. but not a strat...check out the solo 2 months later in madison square garden on you tube...things got better

WTF! Am I the only one who thinks that this is better guitar playing than his studeo stuff? Let me put it this way, musicians get tired of playing the same old stuff, Led Zeppelin was the same way. Also if one takes a closer look he doesn't miss a single fret or cover a mistake up. This means he isn't BSing anything. And by the way ninergl, he was playing some damn fine blues!

Wow how sad! funny its like hes trying to do jimmy page? at one point before cathedral. This just makes me sad, considering this sounds like me when I was trying to learn van halen! now its like I hear this and I get zero inspiration. with todays new music being digitized , the last of the warn tube sound guitarists may be coming to an end. along with our memories of youth and uphoria, of seeing van halen perform.

Eddie was totally sober. I only saw him smoke like 2 cigs the entire show. He missed a BUNCH of notes on solos and 316 and this entire solo was god awful. I think its just his age catching up with him. I think Wolfgang may play better than him. He still rocks though. Most impressed with Alex who was SPOT on and did NOT miss a beat. DLR was also on the money. This solo is sickening!

not true , he he still the best - the solos in this tour is more improv- he sound really good one night better than other - listen atlanta or jacksonville etc... wolfie play betterthan him ????? -come on!!!

100% agree. I've seen Ed in 86, 91, 95 and i drove from Tallahassee to see this show in Orlando. Ed's playing seems uninspired. Its like he just doesn't quite know what to do next in his solos. If you disagree, go watch Ed's playing on all the stuff out there on youtube...from 84- 98 (yes on VHIII Ed's playing was clean and mistake free) and compare it to his playing today. Its like 2 different people.

this is terrible. fuck. compare this to any of the 82 youtubes and you will see what i mean. i love his playing, but no matter how many amps and compressers you hide behind, you cant hide behind the face that his fingers have lost it. hagar and booze, maybe. but fuck it - if you dont believe me look at largo 82.

his trem picking style has changed completely, he can't do little guitars (intro) anymore. maybe thats why the old solo got "boring" (read too difficult)
