affirmative action just doesnt make any logical sense....they are admitting their own inferiority by saying they NEED preferential treatment to be accepted to universities and colleges...
I would say I'm surprised, but this is typical. When you have a bunch of ignorant neo-commi ultra-racists like these idiots forming the extremist terror group "BAMN" - coherence and cogent debate will always take a back seat to strange gyrating, violence and jumping around like monkeys. No class. No sense of decency or civilization. It's people like that which are the sole reason I carry a concealed pistol. They and their desire to destroy America are just down right scary sometimes.
you know they say ignorance is bliss and your are very blissful in your ignorance we are not a terroist group and to be called uncivillized somtimes you have to be uncivillized to get your point across terroist we are not but what we are is a youth led civil rights group who does the job tht people like you are to scared and jaded to do and to scared to stand up for
At a time segregation and racism has sophisticated itself that it's not in your face but in you old tattered school book, high school campus that looks like a primary school. It will be those who face the racism and segregation with the intellect and courage to stand up for them selves that will lead this nation into becoming the its wish of equality. I 'm 17, I am Black and I stand against racist, inequality, I stand as Bamn.
This is ridiculous. It's a very hostile way to protest and does nothing for their cause. But, I guess they want their demands met By Any Means Necessary... which is a very terroristic sounding name.
You know, the irony of all this is, Jim Crow laws are what they used to keep people from voting.
Now, people like this are attacking canvassers to keep people from getting their votes heard. If a bunch of skinheads did this at a voting place, I predict we'd never hear the end of it.
Turning over tables, though. I mean, that's a pretty smart thing to do. That's the kind of thing that will convince the powers-that-be that people like you should have more of a say in things.
you know what its very bold of you to actually say tht and im not even mad at you for saying it because people like you are the reason bamn was created to keep you from spreading that ignorance
By Any Means Necessary (BAMN) is a racist black organization that uses violence to accomplish it's racist wants. It's not only time for civil society to stand up these racist black and so called "minority" thugs that organized nothing more than gangs of thugs to try and give legitimacy to their criminal acts of extortion and violence to accomplish their ends. Police, and federal authorities must put these organized gangs out of action.

I seriously doubt half these protesters knew who "Jim Crow" was other than that his name rhymed with "Hell no."
An end to racial preferences = separate but equal? Please, not getting the admission because you didn't get the free bonus from your inherent race does not mean you are being segregated. I would love to hear some of these guys get into a civilized debate without shouting mindless rhetoric.
Although I don't agree with affirmative action, I find your comments totally racist and stupid. You're the reason why anti-affirmative action people are deemed racist in the first place.
What the hell are you talking about? What did I say that was racist? All I wrote was that their protest slogan didn't match their cause. What is racist about that? Perhaps you need to learn to read or look up what "racist" means.
I never mentioned even mentioned any race. The only words I used to describe BAMN were "these protesters" and "these guys." You're the one racializing my words and making connections that simply don't exist. I never said members of a race can't debate civilly, just this protesting group.
You doubted that the people protesting knew who Jim Crow was. You assume this with no proof that they don't know the historical context of JC Laws. You assume this based on nothing other than their style of protest and their race (the only two things evident in the video)?
Besides, it doesn't even matter if they don't know WHO JC was (a black face character) but that JC LAWS existed to the detriment of African Americans. Perhaps they were not right in evoking JC, but shame on you for questioning their knowledge. If you want the moral high ground in any argument (and wish to move beyond petty "rhetoric") you must not simply resort to baseless "they're dumb" arguments.
You doubted that the people protesting knew who Jim Crow was. "You assume this with no proof that they don't know the historical context of JC Laws. You assume this based on nothing other than their style of protest and their race (the only two things evident in the video)?"
-not true, I didn't assume anything based on their race. I assumed they were dumb because segregation doesn't equal anti-affirmative action.
Again, what does that have to do with their not knowing what Jim Crow laws were? You assume that they don't know because, to you, their logic is flawed. However, your logic is just as flawed.
To them, JC laws mean less blacks in public and high institutions. An end to affirmative action means to them... less blacks in public institutions of higher learning. Is it fair to say that just because their logic is different than yours that you're (as an individual) are stupid and don't know what JC laws were? No.
"If you want the moral high ground in any argument (and wish to move beyond petty "rhetoric") you must not simply resort to baseless "they're dumb" arguments."
You hypocrite. In case you don't remember, you're the one who called me "highly stupid." And mine are not baseless "they're dumb" arguments. The base is that racial segregation would not follow anti-affirmative action legislation; two things these people seem to think is true.
Have you interacted with those protesters? Did you personally ask them if they knew the history of Jim Crow laws? If not, then that constitutes your comments as stupid. Notice how I didn't question your knowledge, I questioned your comments.
"less blacks in public institutions" does not mean discrimination against blacks as was the nature of segregation. Not using race as a deciding factor in admissions is not segregation. Their is not logic- it is misinformation.
If you think their position is valid, then by all means- defend it. If you can't then, stop saying how it can be factually correct.
-Because their's is a position that is not supported. Those "they say Jim Crow, we say hell no" and "save Brown v. Board of Ed." catchphrases are sensationalist, not factual. If you can explain to me how ending racial preferences is the same thing as segregation, I'll respect their position.
NO, JC LAWS ARE IDIOCY! THE SEPARATION OF RACES IS THE MOST ASININE PRACTICE I HAVE EVER HEARD. OUR CONSTITUTION SAYS "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL," AND WE SHALL MAKE SURE IT'S ENFORCED! GAIN A BRAIN!
facts? you want facts?
have you learned your history?
do you not remember the CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENTIN THE 60'S? IF THE JC LAWS HAS BEEN SO GREAT, WHY WOULD THE MASSES MARCH TO ERADICATE THEM?!
Now the useless mayor of Grand Rapids is vowing to fight against what the voters of Michigan have enacted. What a dictator. Little by little we're all losing a great country.
It's not going to get overturned, the U of M AA cases just said that you COULD use AA, not that you HAVE to use AA. The MCRI is almost identical to California Prop 209, which has been held to be constitutional by the Federal Courts. It's law and it's not going to get overturned. A great victory has been struck in the fight against that institution of racism known as Affirmative Action.
These are the most outrageously racist comments I've seen posted to a video and, low and behold, they come from the supporters of the MCRI. Well, guess what, civil rights groups persist and cannot be downtrodden and the MCRI will be overturned as unconstitutional by the highest authority in the US, the Supreme Court.
(The much celebrated Boston Tea Party was actually a riot).I have a whole list of books written by esteemed scholars (white, black, and latino/a) employed by some of America's finest universities that corroborate the points I made. Thank you.
And BAMN's "uncivil" behavior is not something uncommon in the history of American protest--what about the "uncivil" beatings of African Americans during the draft riots in New York in 1863? Or the race riots after boxer Jack Johnson defeated Jim Jeffries? Violent protest (and BAMN's wasn't even violent...lol...it's just aggressive-it hasn't even touched what the weather underground of the SDS has done...) has always been a part of American history, including the founding of this "democracy."
El-Hajj Malik el-Shabbaz (Malcolm X), only advocated self-defense (and not offensive violence akin to a preemptive strike doctrine of you know who) and began to move away from such rhetoric after his conversion from Black Muslim to Orthodox Islam.
as far as the MLK and Malcolm X comparison, it's not that simple if you've read either of their autobiographies (or the writings by king he doesn't have an official autobiography) king was more radical than he has been portrayed in mainstream history and media and likewise (with his burgeoning emphasis on economic redistribution and his hypothesis regarding the "cost of change").
It is also the case with whites who associate aspects of African American culture in this case with membership and political action with BAMN (remember when whites used to call other white liberals "n***er lover and such?)
in defense of nordstrom, historically african american behavior has often been classified as "uncivilized," and we have often been described as "savage," "monkeys," and the like so he has a point in characterizing those assessments as racist. In other words, those descriptions are not as objective as they may seem to be-they come from deep rooted, historical, negative stereotypes of african americans from on the part of whites.
This is for the ignorant, simple minded individuals on this board who can't say anything educated about this situation that took place without stereotyping black people as a whole. You are the true reason why racism exist today, ergo, groups like these are created! Your racist comments are not making the problem better, your making it worse. I agree with "KiCreativeStudios", too bad there is not a way to separate the racist (of all ethnic backgrounds) from the rest of us.
why don't all the ignorant black people and the ignorant white people just kill each other and get it over with?? let the rest of us blacks and whites live in peace for a change without your race obsessed BS.
nordstrom, they made those comments because of BAMN's uncivil behavior, not because of their race...stop trying to call them as racist unless you have some clear-cut evidense.
The world would be a better place without radical groups like BAMN, regardless your stance on affirmative action. Who is viewed more faovrably today: Martin Luther King (who was very peaceful) or Malcom X (a violent radical)?
As one who can proudly say I have been called a racist in the past, I think I can speak to this. 'Savages' may be a bit too much. 'animals' I'm not sure, but 'monkeys' is way, way over the line.
It would actually help if this video hadn't been edited. Why was it? I would've like to have seen what was going on before and during without editing. As it is, it is suspect.
You're missing the point radmod. These comments were made because of BAMN's uncivilized behavior, not their race (and BAMN isn't made of just a single race, so your logic is flawed from the start).
BAMN is on the FBI's terrorist watch list, so I suspect the unedited version wouldn't be too different...it just would have been very repetative.
The only reason why these people are for affermative action in the first place is because they know they're not good enough to make it in to the colleges and high level jobs.
Well, let's see. So far, three racist assholes in this comment section have referred to these protesters as "savages," "monkeys" and "animals." And one ignorant bitch actually thinks that MLK "stole his name," apparently an idea MLK came up with straight out of the womb (please tell me that post is a put-on. Please). Assholes like these (and Bill O'Reilly, who's showing this video on his wretched show tonight) make the existence of a group like BAMN damn necessary. Fuck all y'all.
Let me get this straight: The black community want in colleges and the workplace only because of the color of their skin? HOW would I know if the black sergeon that's about to do open-heart surgery on me got his liscense only because he was black? Does this mean an end to "black colleges"?
Wow... The only reason these people are heard is because they are loud and violent. Just like their so called leader, 'martin luther' king who stole his name from Martin Luther, a German monk of the 1500's.
Last time I checked Martin Luther King Jr. was against violence (peace be upon him), and I strongly doubt that he'd condone this type on behavior if he were alive today...you may be confusiong him with Malcom X, who as we know was quite violent.
And which of the 2 does history judge more favorably today: the peaceful Dr. King, or the violent Malcom X?

A bunch of ignorant racist pigs trying to deny Michigan Residents their right to vote on a legally placed proposal.
Does the parasite ambulance chaser Mark Bernstein think they are in "the mainstream"?
