Axl has way more charisma, a better voice, better songs (although I love both, November Rain trumps Always) and his look was better suited to rock. This is a no-contest. Jon Bon Jovi is a caring, charitable individual, who aspires to go into politics to make the world a better place. Axl Rose can't even get back the original line-up of the band that made him famous because of his plain ego and ignorance. Musically, Jovi sold more and even last year had the biggest selling live tour of all bands. He didn't do that by accident - Jon Bon is a God of the music world.

A lot to do with how bands do sales wise is their promoters and producers. Besides look at some bands like Lucifers Friend, Spooky Tooth, Atomic Rooster, pretty well obsolete but some of the greatest musicians of all time. And Guaranteed John Lawton has better range and versatility than either Axl or Bon. You need to grow up and learn a thing or too.

If you compare careers, bon jovi. If you compare record sales, bon jovi. I am a vocal major in college and i believe Jon has a much bigger and stronger range. Comparing band longevity, Bon jovi. Without the band jon wouldnt be much. They are great musicians. But jbj is a business man. Every tour he goes on makes 250,000,000 at least. Now that's saying something. plus Jon has a better character. His soul foundation helps countless people with no homes and jobs. Good man!
