Landrovers are one of the best off road, only problem is it will break down on the way home.....I've had 3 of em, everyone gave me grief at some point early on... so I gave up, now I buy Cruisers, might not be as good off road but least it'll get me home every-time!

Land Cruiser is sold in 188 countries and is used by 121 militarial services and is the worlds best selling 4x4 with over 5 million, there hasnt been a single country in the entire world that hasnt seen a Land Cruiser. And Toyota had a 4x4 out in 1942 that became the Land Cruiser, rover was made in 1948, so who came first???

Land Cruiser is FAR superior in every aspect of capability including build quality and factory options and ofcourse reliability

I'll be the first to admit, the land cruiser is a good machine, nice car, has some of the creature comforts as you'll find in the more refined Land Rovers, Jeeps, Mitsubishi's etc. but if you want to go the extra mile, drive where others fear and have a good ol' work horse, I would only ever trust my Landy!

I enjoy having Land Cruisers, I have a home in Oz and South Africa and a home in the US and I have a few cruisers at each house, different specs and models that I cant get other places, I run a small Safari(touring) buisness in my free time just for fun so a few are used for that. I have been off roading for 40+ years and had alot of differnt brands and the only ones I trust is the Toyota Land Cruiser and a Nissian partol or two

You're right a PROTOTYPE was made in 1941.

But production of the BJ did not start till 1951.

AND there is no mechanical relationship between the AK10 (the prototype) and the postwar Toyota "Jeep" BJ.
