  • if ur keeping ur chest up and ur back off the mat! that is correct form for benching because its mostly all in ur chest yes it does work out all/most of the upper part of the body but you want your chest to be bigger so if ur back is off the mat then it is correct form idk what these guys r saying about keeping ur back on the mat those guys apararently have never worked out before if they have they really need to do some research on how to bench! no offense! but goodjob!

  • Yo man, sick shit. I remember benching. lol. Back in high school, my senior year, I was maxing at 275. Wanted to try for at least 285, but never hit the weight room after that.lol. Miss them good old weightlifting days. but yeah. keep it up, I feel you on this one.

  • I feel ya, but idk, it seems that even when i go low, it's just as bad, look at the 185, its really bad, but when i went to 205, it seem more straight, i guess that i am more scared of my left arm giving up on me so i push it harder.

  • no, go even lower, Im mean go even to 155 or even 135 and just doing more reps in but focus everything on your balance not on mass or even  burns.

  • If your upper back and butt is sitting on the bench set then your fine. Plus who ever said just using your chest is a bench press? It consists of your chest, tricep, shoulders, and back, thats why when you see people bench press 400+, most are wearing a belt, because they use their back. So i am benching right even if i am using my back.

  • When you said not everyone bench the same you should have took your own advice and not judge the way i bench, if i stressed out my muscle i think i would have changed the way i benched 4 years ago, also if i am not mistaked, Body builders bench w/o arc. Olympic Style benchers arc their back before they bench and they aren't on steriods. If i saw someone with 11 inches high on their back but their butt and SHoulder blades are on the ground It's fair game.

    If correct form means your back must be 99% flat on the bench then I've been benching wrong for the past 5 years! But I'm pretty sure as long as your buttock and shoulders are on the bench and your heels are on the floor, it's legit. Oh and the bar has to touch your chest of course, halfway doesn't count as one rep to me. Honestly, my lower back can't even touch the bench when I'm laying down because my legs are pulling on my body when laying down with legs bent.

  • My left arm is a bit longer than my right, so i can't really fix it. but a bench is a bench so it doesn't matter.
