  • OMG best trans missionever!!!

  • Which Lego technic sets are Usedom for this? How works the gear / transmission. Building instruction !!

  • Bust Lego to DUST!!!

  • where is one of the pistons

  • the power usally comes from the engine into a transmission not the other way around your drill is on the wrong side

  • im trying to figure out how a transmission works. what i notice is that the moving gear just shifts to a smaller diameter gear that allows for the wheel to move faster, right?

  • You dont need a transmission in planes all they usually have is planetary reduction gears to actually slow the prop down because if it spins faster then the speed of sound the prop will shatter and there was on one radial engine ever made with an even number of cylinders because you cant have 2 firing at the same time or else it runs very very rough and puts a lot of strain on the crank shaft

  • it took me a while to realize we were actually seeing stroboscopic effect and not just a standard turning speed on the motor o.O

    impressive.

  • this is from the box or your mind???

  • @DEMA95K this is all from his mind, but sadly my brother isn't in the lego business anymore

  • @MrNipanator you mean that he was employed there

  • @DEMA95K he owned the shop (aka his garage),his site was on ebay, but he went back to college and didnt have time for the lego buisness , so bricktechs is no more :(

  • U fucking genius

  • I used to build much bigger engines with the big sets back in the 80's Lego stuff today is nothing compared with what I had back then. The pistons were square and the engines were bigger and much more detailed. The cars I built were so detailed that they had full on running details including 4 speed tranny, clutch,brakes.steering.suspension and full interior all in the same vehicle that was over 3 ft. long and 16 inches wide. Sdly, none survived to today.

  • can you send me the link on how to build the transmission please

  • you should put the electric motor to the radial, connect the radial to the input, and propeller on the output

  • Love the gearshifting thing...

  • Cool

  • why cant we build real cars like this??

  • Nice dude!! Very nice!

  • you have to much time on your hands but aleast your not like a fatass you do some cool shit

  • can you please make gearbox instructions

  • what is controling the gearbox

  • please print gearbox instructions!!!!!!

  • legos are awsome

  • 4th gear is actually 1st, as the engine spins faster in 4th.

  • that cool

  • the links are down

  • very nice

  • the engine DOES run on air, what.you think it runs on gasoline? lmao

  • Very nice gear box idea! Not very compact but i haven't seen one like this before, again very nice and original idea

  • Which engine is better V or radial

  • @Zhack2000 i say a v engine.

  • @Zhack2000 *sigh* there isn't a better one, the radial engine is better for planes because it cranks out insane RPMS, The Mazda Rx8 has a radial engine and if you ask anyone who has driven it at high speeds, its pretty much doesn't redline, it just keeps spinning faster and faster.

  • @Revosgonewild actually the RX8 uses a wankel engine which doesnt use cylinders unlike the radials which have cylinders

  • @Revosgonewild

it has a ROTARY ENGINE! not a radial engine. look it up.

  • amazing dude

  • i made a device that made the pistons in the engine move so fast they popped out.

  • the engine is tiny and the transmission is huge

  • @damasta04 thats because he has the gears in an inline form. as opposed to the form their in in a car.

  • were did u get the pieces

  • why dont you just use the motor powered by air?

  • cool

  • one movie ther you bild the gearbox

  • Awesome model but does the 4 speeds work?

Because the gear thats shifting does have an input or ouput of power

  • @f0615388

You see the Y-plate that have the large gear , thee is a small gear that is hidden in that Y-plate.

The engine is powered by the electric motor that goes directly to the dual medium sized gears then to the hidden small gear that is connected to the larger gear placed on the Y-plate. That large gear then powers the stiff 4 gear axle that is connected to the radial engine through a medium-to-small gear.

  • @ecchibanzaii Oh my mistake i didnt see the gears

  • no, his gearing is correct. the fps on the camera makes it look like the propeller is spinning slower; instead look at the yellow piston

  • Could you make vid about that engina that has 4 gears? that would be awesome!

  • i find the way it shifts gears to be a brilliant idea

  • @Otaku35 i don't see any brilliant in this historic way of shifting ?

  • @bartdereu I meant that I found it impressive that it was implemented with legos.

  • i think you had you gears wrong cuz as you went up to fourth the motor got faster not slower

  • fourth is supposed to b faster isnt it?

  • fourth is supposed to be faster

  • This is pretty sweet, I program the NXT stuff, but can do anything this mechanically complicated.

  • @bsdpunk i'm kind of the opposite. i cant program worth beans
