@49divan The Chief, Linda and James are trying to destroy a data chip above Reach on a space station durring the events of the game. The Chief and his fellow spartans are Spartan II's. Five of the six members of nobel team are Spartan III's. Meaning they came after The Chief and company. Jorge is also a Spartan II. Not sure where you got the idea that the Chief was trained there after Reach was mostly glassed.

I just finished Reach on Legendary last night and was slightly disapointed until I reaslized. That isn't the Master Chief, it is Linda. She was mortaly wounded before The Pillar of Autumn jumped from Reach. The Chief was with her and put her in cryo until some one could fix her. And if you have played the Anniversary of Halo CE you get an easter egg of Linda still in cryo. I don't know if anyone has pointed this out before, but I'm a lore whore and felt it needed to be said. :)
