  • george had 2 number 1 albums as a solo artist and was in travelling wilburys

  • My favourite Beatle album is Let it Be

  • Sgt. Pepper forever changed music. It single handedly made pop music into high art. Anyone who doesn't recognize the Beatles influence, innovation and genius is simply ignorant.

  • FrightWolf is a retarded troll, don't waste your time acknowledging his existence like I did

  • @elms91 I agree man, I make tht mistake w/ a lot of people on youtube!

  • I bet those kids back then regret burning those Beatles records. They would be worth so much today

  • I disagree, at his peak, George wrote many songs on par with John and Paul. True, he spent all his waking hours with the 2 best songwriters in history, but I doubt there was many others that could have done better, being in his shoes. And yes, George was the most accomplished of the three.

  • George was the most accomplished guitarist of the three. Ask Paul. Nuff' said.

  • @FrlghtWolf While my guitar gently weeps, Here comes the sun, Something....Seriously dude, GTFO !

  • Ugh! Why would they interview George Harrison about

Sgt. Pepper? I mean, I know he was there but so was

the janitor! George, in the end was no equal to Lennon

and McCartney. With his weak voice and his pedestrian

guitar playing, George was never comfortable with music.

It is a shame he tried so hard for most of his life trying to

BE something he WASN'T: a musician! I would feel sorry

for him except he referred to Sgt. Pepper as "boring".

Sour grapes never knew a more bitter man!

  • @FrlghtWolf You didn't really think before you commented did you? The Beatles wouldn't have been The Beatles without George Harrison.

  • @wgradcliffe - Exactly! George Harrison was replaceable whereas John and Paul were not. Glad to see someone has common sense!

  • @FrlghtWolf From the sounds of things your the only bitter person, George may not have been so sharp on lyric writing cause John and Paul had that covered so he never needed to, and what ARE you talking about saying anything about his guitar playing? I play guitar and have done for a long time, and he was a brilliant guitarist. Anyway, just enjoy things like this and keep your sour comments to yourself and have some respect for people who did what you never will. Prick.

  • @Vo0do0Lew - I'll tell you what: I will stop saying negative

things about George Harrison if you quit trying to make make

him into a SAINT. "Brilliant guitarist"? My god, have you ever

listened to "Here, There and Everywhere"? His shrill and

JANGLY guitar work makes me want to take his fucking guitar

and slam it against the wall in true "Animal House" fashion.

"Crackerbox Palace" and "All Those Years Ago" sound like

    shoes in a dryer! This rinky-dink quality...Ker-Plunk! Ker-Plunk!

  • @FrlghtWolf Well fair enough your entitled to your opinion. I guess there always has to be one person who puts down the skills of a dead man on videos people wanna watch to enjoy how good the beatles were, all four of them.

  • Comment removed

  • @FrlghtWolf those were effects he was using, he was something of a pioneer in that regard if you would care to read into it. you don't have to like his sounds, but you shouldn't think that reflects on his ability as a guitarist.

  • @elms91 - Oh my god..."effects"? You call what

George was doing were deliberate "effects"? My

friend, George struggled with music his whole life!

He was a very lucky man to be associated with

John and Paul. If he had "talent" it wasn't in that

awful guitar work. It was in his ability to see the

wisdom in hitching his wagon to John and Paul's

rising star. Without John and Paul, there'd be NO

Beatles. Without Ringo and George...you might

have even had a BETTER BEATLE BAND!

  • @FrlghtWolf First off, don't call me your friend; I have never met you before and judging by your other comments you sound like a total ass.

    .

Paul asked George to join the band based on his musical ability, that is a fact. I don't know why you seem to hate George so much but you really need to come off of it. He was an exceptional musician and a major part of an amazing band. It took all of them working together to form the beatles

  • @elms91 - If George's music was so "exceptional" there

wouldn't be any need to POST it. You know, like posting

that Mozart was "exceptional". So why the need to reinvent

Harrison's legacy? His new (only) documentary "Living In

A Material World" seems to suggest that George struggled

with MATERIALISM too. Who else but a terribly confused

person would need to live in a 120-room mansion? I think

George was the exact opposite of "exceptional". That's why

    you like him!

  • @FrlghtWolf So what you're saying is if an artist is good/talented, he deserves no praise nor recognition? Listen to yourself. I and millions of others like him and think he was "exceptional"; really not sure what your dig was aimed at.

And if you love commenting on how untalented and basically worthless he was, WHY DO YOU HAVE HIM ON YOUR PROFILE PICTURE?

  • @elms91 - NOBODY ever posts "he was exceptional" on

Lennon videos. Nor do they post things like "he was under-

rated". EVERYBODY already knows! Only Harrison gets this

kind of silly myth-making on his videos. Seems to me if George

was all THAT "great" he'd have a better quality fans.

A collection of teenagers and housewives is sort of

embarrassing! As for my channel and avatar, I HIJACKED

this from a Harrison fan who thought I had no right to

    criticize George!

  • people are so stupid. let's worry about making money with Vintage Beatles Records. Nobody ever questions why John lennon was in a war movie when he was for peace. You realize Elvis was in a War movie at one point too. The government controls you. & instead of crying why music today is so shitty could some other people start some bands beside me?

  • this album changed my life, I swear, this and the white album. I never been the same ever since. haha

  • tot listen to gang rap, kill people rape your mother, amd gag me lady gag ,me

  • total genius, ask any musician, such as myself

  • Thanks for the upload!

  • sgt. pepper was Elvis, no doubt, i got some clues

  • Comment removed

  • I've got this on VHS somewhere at my parents house, watched it so many times! Thanks for uploading.

  • this is the documentary that got me into the beatles when i was 10 years old, at that time i didnt know who the beatles were, what made me record it i honestly dont know BUT thank god i did because they are the greatest rock n roll band ever im now 30 and have all the cds and all but 1 album on vinyl

  • They should've laid those records at my parent's doorsteps. They'd be most useful right now.

  • 1:50 I take issue a bit here with Sir George. Not many albums that you remember after 25 years? the Beatles are amazing, but there are loads of classic albums that stay in my memory

  • George Martin... Straight up G-entlemen

  • Great drumming on a day in the life!

  • i was very sad when they said that their not gonna tour in the Philippines anymore :'(

  • @anonymousmessenger23 john called it a nuthouse country. has it improved ? lol

  • @yooanoozarrmay

I was just there for vacation. Answer: Yes

  • "although arguably true" ...haha amazing. good on ya George

  • WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU PEOPLE NOT ADDING WHITE ALBUM, ABBEY ROAD, OR LET IT BE. THOSE ALBUMS ARE AWESOME TOO!

  • @johnlennoncanimagine UGH... cause its a documentry about the making of SGT PEPPER. Thats WHY !!

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH

  • Gods !

  • There's more music in a 2 minute Beatles track than there is in a 15 minute extended remix of some of the crap around today.

  • @wahuk Right on, your comment about amount of music in beatles..hehe

  • @wahuk You're listening to the wrong stuff, man.

  • Why were the Abbey Road engineers wearing white coats? Funny now that its so far back in the past...hehe

  • @ellonysman Maybe because in those days computerized and digital recording equipment didn't exist. All their equipment was analog and mechanical. Lots of moving parts and audio tape which could be degraded by dirt and dust which would affect the recording itself. Of course there are moving parts in a computer but those that could affect the data (music), if compromised, (I.E. hard drives) are sealed from the elements.

  • Happy Birthday George!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Highest rated comment re: Rubber Soul or MMT? Maybe for the year they were made, only.. Give me a break, as much as I have always loved the Beatles, Dark Side of the Moon is LIGHT YEARS beyond the Beatles' finest work, with all due respect. Don't believe me? Just look at the numbers alone. DSOTM was the highest selling album, still being produced many years after its release, than ANY OTHER album in recording history! You really HAVE to be kidding, right???

  • @Xcitableboy ugh, you're disgusting.

  • Thank you for posting this video! In all honesty my first Beatle album was Sgt. Pepper. I grew up listening to it and love it to this day!!!

  • Surely the BEST film on Pepper you can find! Highly recommended---and THANKS for posting and sharing it!

  • my favourite is Paul's Fixing A Hole

  • my favourite is Paul's Fixing A Hole

  • nobody will ever make an album like this again it has everything right down to the note that never ends on a day in life superb

  • I hate pres. Marcos now for shooing away the beatles :(

  • "She Is Leaving" is one of the most painful tunes I've ever heard. Not that the song's message is painful; it's just painful to the ears to listen to.

  • 0:15 DADA DADA DADA DADA

  • This is about were Paul started getting cocky.

  • i'm so glad i'm jewish, because if the christians got so worked up over something so stupid...god people really can be ignorant sometimes.

  • k9forkids: Mozart wrote music down from scratch in one try, never had cross anything out or erase anything, like he would have been able to anyway..he had perfect pitch and wrote most of his music in 4/4, which is 4 beats per measure. whether it was 5 per or 7 per or 16 beats per measure, there was always a beat. he wrote melodies, harmonies, parts for violins, clarinets, oboes, rhythm section and every other member of a concert band. from scratch. go listen to house music fool.

  • LOL! The intro to that is funny, the part that starts at 0:15

  • Great documentary - I have this on VHS somewhere.

Revolver is their best though ;)

  • Took 5 months to make?

  • George Martin is the 5th Beatle.

  • George Martin is the British Clint Eastwood. Not in a literal sense.

  • @KillingFloor67 LOL my dad said the SAME Thing!!

  • Idiots, why are you throwing old vintage records of the Beatles into the fire pit. Do you know how much those are worth now?

  • @DAYD111 you mean Why Were, lol,

  • @DAYD111 of course they didnt know, they were in the past. at their time, they thought that the records were just trash, so they don't know the value

  • @bluemoon4111

Yes, I know that. I'm just making a funny.

  • @bluemoon4111 Who cares anything about 'time' they were in? The collection house today is an industry where they create scarcity by monopolising the theory of value.

  • @SlimeTron5000 I care about the "time" they were in and many others. When you watch Beatles videos, have you ever read peoples' comments, and they are complaining about the music in this generation. or how they state that music back in the 60s was great, compared to now? Apparently, a lot of people seem to care.

  • Ringo: 'Paul was the workaholic'

  • haha i love george

  • That's why John Lennon was shot, he said they were more popular than Jesus Christ, well that's, still, no reason to go off and shoot him, most people love the beatles, I wonder who shot him. By the way, why will only John and Paul be looked back at like Motzart and Beethoven?

  • thank you sooooooo much for loading this up - THAT'S my british "holy grail", forget about Sheik's Beer ! hehe

  • makes me kind of sad when john says to the journalist that they would continue writing music (together) forever. Just imagine what it would have been if they had really continued and never broken up... Music mourns them.

  • loved this

  • Amazing!!!!

    xoxo

    The Clarences

  • I Wonder If Any Of Those Idiot's Between (4:32 & 4:34) Is Still Living & Cursing Themselves Out For Burning Those Beatle Album's? Just Think .....HELLO E-BAY.,,,Oh Well Toooo Late After Burning Those Albums

  • "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" ? Reveluionary ? Give me a break. SPLHCB changed music - how we listened to it, how we produced it, etc. Pink Floyd did none of that.

  • Dude, really? Pink Floyd never changed music and how we listened to it? Piper at the Gates of Dawn is just as good, if not better than Sgt. Pepper's... and that's just the beginning. Dark Side and Wish You Were Here are better albums than anything The Beatles released.

  • That's just an opinion, but that doesn't make it so. People in the music industry, those that know what they are talking about, would disagree with you - not to mention millions of other people.

  • remember that what your saying is just an opinion also, everything you say doesnt have to be correct

  • Well, complexity and the skill needed to compose the songs can be analyzed and determined objectively. The fact that experts would disagree with nik, isn't 'opinion', it's a fact.

  • I've given you a thumbs up for stating the inventiveness of piper at the gates and your love of the floyd. But The Beatles were so revolutionary I don't think they can be compared to any other band, they were not only a band but a social phenomenon.

  • @nik3887 bollocks

  • ur shit

  • ur evil, but that goes without saying.

  • One thinks you dont know what your talkin about old been

  • @rebelbhoy1888 Learn English or quit posting stupid ass comments on this site. Thank you. Oh, btw, you have been blocked.

  • @dhucke4assembly

Who are you To tell me ??

    Ya silly cock

  • I have the New Remaster and it is great.

Try listening to it with your ipod white Headphones,it sounds Great and Trippy.

  • I can't believe I've never watched this before.

  • on my opinion its:

    MMT=SgtPepper=Revolver

  • i have to say mccartney kept the group for more years than they should have, john was just to stoned with yoko. go mccartney

  • i have to say MMT is my favourite Beatles album too. i didn't know it was Lennon's favourite, very interesting....

    MMT>Sgt Pepper>White Album

    in my opinion

  • I think that "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn" by Pink Floyd, which was recorded in the same place and a at the same time of Sgt. Pepper, is way more revolutionary than sgt pepper.

  • abbey road is the better album

  • the best album is magical mystery tour, it just flows perfect from song to song, masterpiece......

  • magical mystery? really? you find it better then revolver or abby road?

  • I love Abbey Road and Revolver, Rubber Soul more then Revolver but MMT i feel took the innovation of Sgt.Pepper and took it 10 times as far, and the transitions between the songs put it over the edge, but thats just me lol....

  • i actually agree with you that MMT seems more "trippier" then pepper but i guess ive always leaned more towards Abbey cause by then everyone was at their peak as a song writer

  • you are a novice fan.......you can not see the brillance of the appex......stop and understand the reason why the Beatles changed the world with Pepper...john said it was the best music ever made. period. stop sounding foolish

  • I'm not knocking Sgt.Pepper, like i said in my opinion i feel Magical Mystery Tour is a better album, and if u were a true fan you would know that Lennon said that MMT was his favorite album, so looks like your the fool on the hill lol

  • for me, rubber soul was their best, but there's almost no difference between that and revolver and pepper. the only run of albums that's even come close is radiohead with the bends, ok computer and kid a..... and they're still nowhere near as good. nothing ever will be

  • I agree. Rubber Soul was the moment when the 1960's turned from black & white into colour..

  • @dan564891 I agree with "Rubber Soul" and "Revolver" (as George put it, Vol. 1 and 2), but that's where it stops for me. "Pepper" Might have been a landmark album, but it's by far not their best. For me, it's between "Rubber Soul" and "Abbey Road".

  • @dan564891 dark side of the moon- pink floyd, led zeppelin I and IV, and sticky fingers-rolling stones.

  • @dan564891 Well again thats a matter of your opinion. I like the beatles as much as anybody but there are so many great bands. I dont believe in a GREATEST though. No such thing. I think Led Zeppelin 4, Houses of the Holy, and Physical Graffiti was also a terrific album run. I would also say the same thing about Bob Dylan's Bringing it all Back Home, Highway 61 Revisited, and Blonde on Blonde.

  • @dan564891 no there's the stones with let it bleed, sticky fingers, and their best album exile on main street

  • @dan564891

Radiohead...Are you joking? You must be. Come on, fess up.

  • @dan564891 Guided By Voices has conquered any Beatles album you care to mention. I know that's not popular opinion, but it's the truth from where I stand.

  • @dan564891 theres a few album songs on rubber soul even though i like it.sgt pepper has every song up there

  • @dan564891 I think Magical Mystery Tour could be added to the end of that list as well. Well, actually, I usually group Rubber Soul with Revolver, and Pepper with Magical Mystery Tour. The two latter are more psychedelic and all over the place than the two former.

  • Can anyone identify the record he's holding at 4:00? Lee Dorsey maybe?

  • I watched this at the time. The album shot back into the top 5 after this was shown

  • For me my fave is Sgt. Pepper.

Love the album cover, and songs.

  • Sgt Pepper is a great Beatles album. But Revolver is their greatest.

It was the last LP from the 1st half of their career, and links the moptop and studio years like no other.

There's a lot of different influences and original ideas on Revolver, and their individual personalities shine through, but it feels like a group effort, and there's little flab/ego on there. Unlike The White Album.

George is hardly on Pepper, and John's Walrus and Strawberry Fields should have been on it.

  • Abbey Road is better than Revolver. But, you are correct about Strawberry Fields.

  • Amazing!

  • Some people think that Abbey Road, or perhaps Let It Be is the best bealtes album, but NO NO NO It's SGT PEPPER! right?

  • i like the magic mystery tour.

  • MMT is the Beatles at their Psychedelic best

Pepper is a tad overrated me thinks

  • its revolver for me, im only sleeping., love yout o

  • Oh, hands down Revolver's my fave. If only 'Rain/Paperback Writer were thrown on it would've been even better !

  • im with you dude.

  • i like rubber soul.

  • Comment removed

  • Let It Be, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt. Pepper, and The White Album are all masterpieces.

But you really can't say which is the best, they went from early rock, pop, heavier rock, than they went back to the roots of early sounding rock.

  • Comment removed

  • In 200 years John and Paul will be looked back on the same way we look back on Mozart and Beethoven .

  • george harrison and ringo too

  • I prefer Bach - He's the best of them

  • @M3town3 ... we`ll look back on George the same way we look back on Bach

  • @sweetfly66 Never thought of it that way.... cool :D

  • @sweetfly66 And where will gaga, bieber and all the rest be? In oblivion.

  • @Dodo251 gaga who? I don't know her now!

  • @Dodo251 I don't know her now...gaga who?

  • @tonkehar lol exactly.

  • @Dodo251 ... It is a mistake to put Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber in the same catagory .... Lady Gaga , regardless of what you think of her image and music is unquestionably the most prolific songwriter of the 21st century . Even before we knew who she was we knew her music ...she wrote for everyone ...brittney spears , usher to name a few .... She went to Julliard ...she is brilliant .... also , her first record yielded 6 number one hits ...those are Beatle type numbers

  • @sweetfly66 you mean the Beatles consisted in John and Paul? oh, that seems to be a bit short sighted. George the genous is mostly underrated, no?

  • @Sonam121 ..... I do not think George is underrated . Most knowledgable fans understand how great a Beatle George was . They recognize his depth , musicality , and instantly recognizable guitar work . And they also recognize his songwriting skills . But in the history of pop music it will be all about John and Paul . It is their names on the vast majority of those songs . Still , I think George gets more popular by the day .... seriously .

  • @sweetfly66 yes sir!

  • @sweetfly66 True dat man, true dat.

  • @sweetfly66 No, because Beethoven and Mozart has no rhythm

  • @k9forkids What do you mean, "no rhythm"? No "beat" nor any hard and easy "tempo" to follow while stomping your foot. But rhythm? There was plenty. More than you can imagine.

    Keep listening to disco.

  • Ringo looks like GG Allen here.

  • @OasisJohnny .... hahahahaha ... that is one of the funniest things i have EVER heard man ..... GG ALLIN .... oh my god , i`m dying ....haha

  • i was thinking the man was going to say "they went on a safari trip and an elephant shouted "beatles! beatles" so they had to eat its poo. the elefant thort they were dung beatles"

  • John Lennon didn't mean to offend anyone.

  • Comment removed

  • wow.....Ringo looks juts like he did on the simpsons lol

  • Chotchas: Pink Floyds "Piper at the gates of dawn" was released after Sgt Pepper...so how could Syd Barrett inspire Beatles?...

  • Wow this is awesome!

  • I agree with you 100% and think many mmore would too. Both were light even weak pieces which did not chime well with the rest of the album.

  • I disagree ..i think when i`m 64 is a nice whimsical sort of back to reality song after the seriousness and musical daring do of within you without you

  • is this part of a whole documentary? or is it only the making of pepper?

  • I just got Sgt. Peppers for my Birthday and it is damn good (even thought I've heard it all before). When I listen to the music I try to forget everything about The Beatles and listen. I can't understand why "When I'm 64" comes after "Within You, Without You", but "Lovely Rita" is great. The backing vocals are amazing. I wonder where George Martin would've placed the two singles on the album.

  • Revolver or abbey road definitely - maybe revolver

  • thank you for posting this. i remember watching this first time round in 92. didn't think i'd ever get to see it again. as i recall it was before a screening of hard day's night that evening.

  • Wonderful documentary; but not the best Beatles album, which is 'Revolver'?

  • you mean the white album *

  • you both mean Rubber Soul

  • revolver is there best
