I haven't done this in about 2 years, so my memory is hazy. There is a corpse where you need to stick a grenade and an item with a scent on it. When you do that, there is a cut scene where the rancor checks it out and eats what you put in there and the grenade kills it.

you only need 2 mines? OOHHHHH. well, just so people know, it also works if you use every mine you collected at Taris up to that point. BOOM-BOOM! heh. dead monster thingy itty bitty pieces. =D

You loot the corpse pile, place that stuff you get off of the severed arm and a grenade in the pile. He will eat it and explode and die. :D

wat i did was place a frag grenade in the corpse pile along with the synesthized odor and a cut scene begins with the rancor eating the frag grenade and his mouth lightin up like a christmas tree lmao.

First time I came against the rancor, I just tried shooting it. I lost Revan and Mission from the get-go, and had carth firing at it from a glitchy angle, so that I had a clear shot, but the rancor couldn't get to me.

I just had him stand there firing, and went into the other room, watched TV for half an hour, and noticed that the Rancor hadn't taken any damage, and carth was still shooting... And then I found out about the odor and the grenade. :P

Lawl... when I did this the first time I ran out of mines beforehand, I just had one poison grenade. I sent the other two out to distract it of course ^ ^ after I threw the grenade and led it to the tunnel where it couldnt get in, but was out of my line of sight. I waited seven minutes for the poison to kill it

i just bought a lot of grenades and threw them at the rancor, then ran back through the door when it noticed me. Of course, I found out later that all I needed to do was put that odour and a frag grenade in its "trough". I felt pretty stupid afterwards.

For some reason there is a glitch in the Super Skip Taris for me.

I installed it but I didnt use it but When I leave the ship and wake up in taris having that dream its just says error report.

Strange I should uninstall It, but it could not have merged right with my other 2.da files.

I 'naded the rancor too. I lucked out too, I started out with like 40 or so grenades of all types (don't remember how many exactly, it's been a while), and by the time it died, I had just 2 left.

Problem was: When it died, the corpse trapped me in the corner :/

Well, try smashing it and it suddenly disappears, =). It will eventually in the next 10 seconds or so. Oh, and there are guards guarding the Vulkar Entrance/door. So get yer Energy Shield out (because they will have it out too) and fight like the fire! (With an occasional type of sword.) Good luck, mate.

If anyone wants to instastly kill that rancor without any effort, here it is. Remember the synthesized odor you got from the arm? Well, go to the corpse pile, put a grenade in it if it is not in it already and then put the odor in the pile and watch the fireworks blow off.

Blasters don't hurt the Rancor. You have to either use grenades or mines.

The way he did it is pretty hard, you see he had deadly mines, not many of them are availible in Taris. Easiest way is to put the odor in the bone pile and put a mine there (YES I know I read the comments, im just saying)

The first time I saw that Rancor I got killed. The ensuing replay, I ran like hell around that room throwing grenades until I noticed they're missing the humongous monster. I ran to the door outside the Vulkar base and noticed the rancor couldn't move into that area. Then I just get lobbing grenades until they ran out. Then I used my blaster rifle. It died.

They were deadly. I had them item placed (modded) for gameplay in the Taris Undercity so I wouldn't need as many mines to do that part.

That's the easiest way, but not as fun. Plus you get more experience points doing it the way shown in the video because you also get experience points for killing the Rancor itself, not just the plot points.
