Christ came to establish a church, not simply to leave us to our own devices. He established that church with a head, Peter, and authority to establish norms for it's governance. The Holy Catholic Church is Christ's, and through the Holy Spirit, a succession of leaders (popes) stretching back to Peter, and hence, to Christ, have been it's head over the millenia.
The magisterium predates the New Testament. On a certain level, it created it.

That was a beautiful talk. Pope john Paul II was a great speaker and a good example of how we should live.

but in ireland please we are a voilent people man. my dad was in the ira and supported them i every way. somethings words cant do. for freedom blood has to be spilt. so who is going to heaven. not the british soldiers nor the ira members that died. murder is murde. if i kill a murdered i am a murdered
