I'm sure there are talented rap artists. The point us hair metal fans are trying to make is that guys in hair metal bands actually play instruments and have to be able to sing as well as write music. Hip hop guys don't have to sing or play an instrument. Talking in rhymes and grabbing your crotch is not nearly as talented as playing and singing. By the way, check out Heartbreak Station by Cinderella if you want to see just how talented the lead singer is. He plays only three instruments in the video and sings like nobody ever has but it's an amazing song that HE wrote and plays in. I've seen all the great lead singers in rock music and Cinderella's lead singer is by far the most talented I have ever seen. Whether or not you like this music you have to admit the lead singer is very good at what he does!

Tesla, Ratt and Scorpions are all included in that...according to you, "hair metal" is dead but, as those bands prove, they can still write music and release albums 20 years after that style started to die down.

First of all, not all the hair metal bands have cut their hair. Duh! Secondly, hair metal died out because music execs went with grunge and stabbed hair metal bands in the back. A big mistake. I'm sure there are talented rap artists. The point us hair metal fans are trying to make is that guys in hair metal bands actually play instruments and have to be able to sing as well as write music. Hip hop guys don't have to sing or play an instrument. Talking in rhymes and grabbing your crotch is not nearly as talented as playing and singing. The lead singer of Cinderella can play FIVE different instruments as well as sing his ass off! He is incredibly talented! More than most lead singers!

By the way, check out Heartbreak Station by Cinderella if you want to see just how talented the lead singer is. He plays only three instruments in the video and sings like nobody ever has but it's an amazing song that HE wrote and plays in. I've seen all the great lead singers in rock music and Cinderella's lead singer is by far the most talented I have ever seen. Whether or not you like this music you have to admit the lead singer is very good at what he does!

@jithe3rd You know, a number of bands who got popular in the 80's for that "hair metal" style (regardless of whether or not they always played that style of rock) have been releasing more material in recent years. Tesla, Ratt and Scorpions are all included in that...according to you, "hair metal" is dead but, as those bands prove, they can still write music and release albums 20 years after that style started to die down.

@jithe3rd you posted what you posted only 2 months ago and the band examples i said were for rock music in general over the last 20 years to you saying rock music hasn't had any hits in that time. it took me less than a minute to think of those bands who've all had many rock hits in the uk top 40 at least but most in the top 20 or even top 10. glam rock is still around though with motley crue still producing records and cinderella having been on tour with unsigned acts who still keep this going.
