  • Spektrum.....

  • Fantastic ! That's what i wanted to do. Damn, now i'll be the second to get to do that :(

  • @tacoman...doesnt look like he pulled of power (as in a mode 2)..so you probably right..and it usually helps a lot if you push inverted, not pull :)

  • the gear doesn't suck its just u!

  • Wow

  • To show a video of this quality to us all, of a very sad and expensive crash of a beloved model aircraft, is the mark of a classy guy. Thanks, Ali!

  • It's quite annoying to hear all these anti-Spektrum rants.Just stuff it. Spektrum gets a bad reputation started by a few rumors that get out of hand and snowball. Not a damn thing wrong with Spektrum.

  • oh shit - soviel arbeit steckt da drinne ! R.I.P

  • What is with putting the controller above his head? I'd be glued to the controls till that thing hits, not throwing up my controller to show everybody it's about to crash.

  • wait pause at 1:28 look at his right thumb!

  • Very nicely photographed and edited! I really appreciate the close-up freeze-frames of the impact, as well as the debris shots. What more can one ask from a model jet crash? 8-D

  • atleast you got it on video...to say the least...

  • Spektrum !!!!! Themselves to blame

  • What a shame to see a nice plane crashing, it's painful to watch!

  • Unlucky buddy lol expensive mistake !

  • Looks to me that he was using and work for spektrum.if that the cast o well maybe they pull the stuff of the market i lost 4 planes to spekturm one was a 50cc extra.

  • Did he cry like a little girl behind them dark shades?

  • @krico135 lmaoo i guess he lost control of the plane, he was in a reverse flight and at low altitude

    not problem of the radio

  • DSM2 = shit is gunna crash

  • aw, at least you got it on video

  • There was a suicide bomber who hijacked the plane

  • Footage looked very cool like an airshow clip, sorry about your crash those jets are expensive . Everybody crashes....not a case of if just a case of when and how bad its gonna be. bad luck chap.

  • this is SAD day!!!!

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Crashed my tricopter today...

  • Have you ever heard of this old saying: "There's just 2 kinds of rc planes: those that have already fallen and those that still have to fall."?

  • Thank god you filmed this...i would have hated to have missed it!

  • oh it's Ali - he can afford that! it's not really a loss for him!

  • Rather dramatic, nervous, stressful kind of music that's playing while the plane still flies and a rather great disater, death tragedy mourning kind of song that's playing in the end after the crash.

  • only the most expensive rc plane give the best crashes

  • What happened? Did it lose the signal? How many receivers did it have in it? What radio product was he flying with? I believe in Futaba. I have never had any losses of signal in all the years with Futaba, if loss of signal was the cause that is.

  • Best crash I've ever seen, I'm sorry for you and your beautiful plane !

thanks for sharing and don't dig this video !

  • Another "Spektrum" casualty

  • the song is making me cry :'(

  • shoulda gone with statefarm insurance.

  • what a nice jet fill sorry for the man

  • whats a sad loos?

  • Really Fabulous editing and excellent video-to-musical score! Top Notch. As for the actual loss; very sad and even more expensive. It was an excellent flying model and an interesting model choice.

  • Never mind !

  • Did the engine survive the crash?

  • Sucks man. Ive been there. This past summer i"ve had horrible luck with rc and lost over a grand on plane crashes. One lost signal and nosed dived into a field. one broke apart at over 100mph and spewed components across the field. Most were never found, and my last one, the elevon control horn broke off and went I went to pull out of a dive, it just rolled. Plowed into a corn field at over 160 mph about 15 feet from where I was standing. again most components, never found.

  • do you still feel like he came back

  • I know what a Crash means for a pilot hobbyist, only sad, I do fliying with helicopter and i did a lot of crash, but you fly good man.

  • Now I see why EDF jets are so popular

  • that was awsome

  • Comment removed

  • how sad...for the loss..

  • That really sucks!!! I know, I've crashed some nice planes because of glitches! Nothing you can do about that! I wish they made parts that worked perfect all the time.

  • Man that sucks. I feel for the owner. I know how much these things cost and how much time, energy & love goes into building them. I could clearly see the pilot knew what he was doing, the plane wasn't doing what his fingers were telling it to do. It's one thing to crash because of pilot error, it's even worse when parts malfunction and the aircraft grows a mind of it's own and is uncontrollable. Was a nice looking jet.

  • 1:25 best part

  • I would have to agree on servo failure. That sucks. It looked great while it lasted.

  • that had to hurt i saw it

  • wud be funny if sum one laughed in his face straight after

  • AAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.....................BAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA..............HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, BAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. AWWWW TO BAD YOUR SAD LOL

  • JR/Siniestrum?

  • Was the pilots wallet found thrown from the crash no worse for wear?

  • The Pilots name is Ali Machinchy, he is one of the worlds best and well known RC pilots. This plane is one of his Hawker Hunters, his first actually. Unlike the discription the cause of this crash was never determined. If you know anything about turbine RC jets there are thousands of things that could go wrong. However those of us in this hobby can narrow it down to a few things possible.

  • lol i see the turbine at 1:50

  • PWNED!

  • another Spektrum radio, another pile of parts..

  • At least best RC crash on youtube

  • The feeling of utter & total despair woven with a helplessness & emptiness indescribable . I feel your pain

  • I think it was pilot failure, look at when the plane was on inverted position before crash,. and the throttle stick was pulled down which is make the plane pointed down and crashed.

    CMIIW

  • @aeromodeling LOL you are a dumbass, do you know anything about rc planes or jets or anything. Ali Machinchy flies on a mode 1 transmitter witch means his throttle is on the right and elevator on the left. "Freedom of speech is not all its hyped to be" or maybe he just got a bad one from Wal-Mart!!!

  • @vizzuleyes so in this video he was using mode 2? yes im newbie for this hobby. that was my opinon, sorry for that. i knew there are some mode for tx. and i got some basic technical knowledge for some 3D movement.

  • @aeromodeling No man opinion are how people learn. That comment was a dick move on my half, I sat here and read like two pages of comments of shit talkers got pissed. Ali Machinchy is an awsome pilot and a very kind guy. I think yours was the most intelegent questions there so I had to be a smartass to someone. Sorry man. But yes he is from and lives in the UK. The standard there is mode 1 like 2 is in the States. I forgot when they interviewed him for this crash but he flies both. vid is 2

  • @aeromodeling Pause and look again he is half to one quarter throttle full up elevator which makes a plane go nose down since he is inverted it should make the jet do an inverted bank straight up, He flies both modes 1 and 2 this is a two, throttle left, elevator right. I have seen him fly in person I would bet my whole hanger of jets that it was mechanical. An inverted pass is pretty simple for someone of his skill. Copy and paste his name and watch some of his flights then u may change opinion

  • Stupid

  • song name?

  • I see the problem, it's printed on that guy's shirt.....

Pity it didn't burn off that shitty paint job.

  • Nnnoooooooooooooooooooooooo! Do these guys insure their models? I mean the time and cash can get into the tens of thousands, and since the risk of fire/explosion is so much higher than piston engined models it can be a complete loss whereas with piston engined planes you can at least savage servos, electronics, engine(s) etc.

  • @gaff2006 these pilots are good enough for the crashes to happen very rarely (if ever). there is no RC pilot alive with a perfect flight record, but the more you fly, the less likely the chances are that its going to happen.

    cheers!

  • @gaff2006 No there is no insurance to cover the cost of the jet which this Hawker Hunter was around $18,000.00

  • totally owned!

  • hey is that ali machiny i dont know how to really spell his last name but that gives you an idea

  • How to lose 10,000$ in 1.5 minutes!!!

  • RIP

  • Cover me porkins!

  • I like the big fireball the best. Do it again with your next expensive toy.

  • Spectacular!!!

The best airstrip I have see.

  • Great series of stills! Bummer about the jet but at least you have a great recording to cherish.

  • Amazing stills!!

  • *cries*

  • PS. His helmet was on sale in Change Alley the next day.

  • Ahhh, remeniscent. Tengah, around 1965. 20 sqn Hunter flown by a Fg. Off Martin. Problem downwind over the bomb dump. He pointed it away and ejected. It came down just like that - BOOM ! - followed by Martin in his chute to land right beside it.

  • Oops

  • wow....good footage...well edited....

  • As for this, the damage of the heart is big!

  • It wasn't loss of radio. The single battery failed. As it was being test flown, only one large main battery was fitted. Once that failed, that was it.

Normally Ali fits a battery backer in all his models, but this was a new aircraft.

  • @workonesabs Actually workonesabs Ali was interviewed about this crash and the reason was never determined, I will post the interview. He actually stated a servo failure was his first thought.

  • I think it lost its aerodynamics due to the paint job...

  • That is the exact reason that I as well as alot of modelers I know will not use spektrum systems. I have lost more planes due to spektrum systems than I have ever owned at one time. This is the reason that spektrum is coming out with the DSX system to replace the older DSM 2 and I hope they fix the problem with lockouts. That is why I stick with Futaba 2.4G and have bever had one problem.I fly FPV and have put just under a mile on my futaba 10CAG in a radio wave cluttered city safely.

  • NOOO!!!! the agony 10 to 15K yea that would be a day for a few cold ones

  • i cant put my finger on its name...what is it?

  • @GoEflight the jet name is:Airworld hawker hunter

  • Outch.....

  • damnnnn no repairing that!

  • Wow! Very sad ! Hope you recover.

  • we will be landing immediately

  • Only fly these things if you have the balls to lose 10k in 3 seconds.

  • he was raising the TX...Did he have the infamous brownout with spektrum?

  • @rcAllDayLong I see he was wearing a Spektrum teeshirt. Time to go DSMX me thinks!

  • @xjet oh well...I guess every vendor has a little MS Vista in them. Joking aside, specktrum brownouts has caused many folks to lose many planes. I know the argument/blame of low power, but hey, if I've ran my 72mhz for the last 5 yrs and it's ok, and all of a sudden my planes are dropping from the sky with specktrum,...something's going on.

  • :'( At least no one was hurt.

  • sad, i have lost a plane recently, its not only the money, its the time and effort you have given on a model.....

  • that sucks! how much money did u lose there?

  • @tylerwalker2 it is no my loos but the owner loos 10 to 15 K on thes crash

  • @tylerwalker2 : The plane belonged to Ali Machinchy, one of the worlds finest RC jet pilots
