If she is playing violin on this, its a very nice piece of music. However her vocal's arent as moving as Bille Holidays version. Billie quite clearly felt the emotion in the melody and lyrics. EA seems to be singing it with no emotion and focuses more on the violin. Just my opinion. Not bashing EA....she is a talent.

It was writen by a hungarian composer and has always had urban miths surrousnding it about how it makes you want to commit suiside. Which obviously isnt true since it's been covered by everyone from Billie Holiday to Bjork.

I'm pretty sure Emilie Autumn can play both the violin and viola. From what I know, a violin can definitely not go this low... they can only go to around a G above middle C, and Violas can go all the way down to a middle C, which still being able to play the higher range, just not as easily.

Nah, it's a violin. It becomes expecially noticeable when notes are played on the E string. And none of the notes go lower than the G string. :) Pretty cool, though. Because the sound is kinda viola-ish in some places. But it's definitely a violin.

Between a violin and a viola? I'm not sure if that's what you were asking about (haha) but if so, then yeah. I play violin, and I CAN play viola adequately. The difference is that a viola is a bit bigger, and plays in a lower register. The strings for viola are A, D, G, C. Violin is E, A,D, G. :)
