Well there is no programmer that will be easy on the tranny they all do their work to ruib them. The bullydog powerpup is ok but if you really want to play around the Smarty is the only way to go.

I'm a ford fan, but man I really love the old Dodges with the 5.9 Cummins (2002 and earlier). It's a shame what ALL diesels are comming to now, special fuel (low sulfur), noise limits. The reason I liked the cummins so much is because of the roar, doesn't have a lot of that now, it's not just dodges, I hate the new ford and chevy diesels too.

I hear ya man, EPA needs to turn around and stick this bullshit up their own ass. I heard rumor today that EPA is tryin to cut out downloaders...too much pollution. I went with the 5.9 because she's a proven engine. I'm workin on tunin her up real good so I can really smoke out the crunchies, thanks for the good comments man. Keep the smoke rollin.

It would be a shame if smoke were banned.

It is here, u just watch out for the police!

U still can get good power without smoke but u have to run even higher boost which obviously wears turbo out quicker etc.

They ruined truck racing with the smoke ban here too.

The rules used to be "driver behind must be able to see!"...thats more like it...he can if hes about a mile behind officer!

yeah the EPA is bullshit. I can't stand it. It's funny they are cramming down on our emissions standards but our oil burners have half the emissions that a regular unleaded car does. its bullshit. you can get any full sized diesel truck and it probably puts out less emissions than any four banger on the market. i have a 06 5.9 cummins sraight piped,k&n, and bully dog(pmt) and extreme mode is 140 hp gain and have 30,000 miles with pmt on truck and tranny is fine. my best pass on the track is a 14.3 with these mods

smarty is 170 hp chip. and chevy trannys will go out just as fast as dodge trannys when you start puttin that kind of power through them. And Cummins is still the fastest in the 1/4 mile buddy

The allisons are problem free for about 80 additional horses..after that you could limp or have tranny problems, although some get away with more

Get a manual buddy. They can take all the power u have unless ur a serous dragracer or truck puller.(will most likley need a new clutch startin 150+ hp)

Yea..a smarty box is the very best programmer for the cummins!! And it's a 160 hp chip i do believe! Oh and yea kiss that tranny goodbye..Had a friend buy one of them suckers and kissed his tranny goodbye in 2 days..lol it's not a chevy..you do the transmission before you can add power to a dodge! Love the 5.9 cummins though..Even if the fastest 1/4 mile diesel is a chevy

The 5.9L in 2007 is a 610 Cummins and not a 600. The 600 was replaced in 2004.5 / 2005 by the 610.

The "tow" program on the hypertec 2 wasted my tranny. I have 04 cummins quad cab dually. I was towing a two place aluminum snowmachine trailer when it happened. it wouldn't let it shift out of first under load. my whole tranny ended up trashed.

What kind of programmer is that? I heard any programer will F up your transmision and cause it to break apart or start slipping. Have you heard of such a thing?

It's a bullydog power pup, I have a custom setting for it that was not in the programmer when we shot this video. The transmissions are fine on the regular settings, they will start to slip when you go up in power
