  • @romrom059, You don't need to throw it by hand. If you have a smoothe surface to take off from (such as a paved parking lot), you can take off from the ground. We normally launch it by hand because we usually fly in a field that has no runway.

  • HELLO ! I'm French : You are to oblige of throw(launch) it to the hand? Where it is you who prefer? Otherwise one can make him(it) unstuck normally?

  • Maybe I'll go brushless if the old system ids really worn out.

  • Anyone know of 'how to' aileron addition to this little plane? I bought one from a local hobby shop...for 10 bucks, and it needs work. The plastic gear in the motor had a couple of teeth missing. I ordered a replacement, and intend to fly it with a lipo, though I have the original nicad battery. Everything else seems fine. One wing has a slight crease in it, nothing major.

Thanks for info. if any forthcoming.

  • Yikes, work on the flyin a bit...

  • @Razorscooterpoo How 'bout that sweet landing though?

  • what up with the cartoonie thing

  • 2 min of flying broke 3 things > <

  • @peroxidal Don't let that discourage you. Invest in a roll of packing tape and glue. Try to do some cheap repairs wherever possible. It's very likely you'll crash it and break something again during your next flight or two also, so I would avoid buying new parts right now unless they're absolutely necessary. If they are necessary, don't worry, replacement parts usually just cost a few bucks. Repairs are just part of the hobby. My planes are under continual repair. Some look like Frankenstein.

  • @Schlermie no i wouldnt let a little bump in the sky discourage me :) Its repaired and im ready to do it again! so much fun

  • where was this video taken

  • is this plane pretty easy to fly compared to the j3 piper 4 channel?

  • @peroxidal Yes, it's fairly easy to fly. It makes a good beginner plane, although you should still be prepared for a few crash-and-repairs with this one. Try to get it high up into the air before trying any crazy maneuvers. Just fly some simple circles at first. When turning, just do some quick tap-tap-taps on the stick. Don't hold it to the extreme edge of the range or else you'll probably end up oversteering.

  • @Schlermie thanks! i could use all the tips i can get. im taking out today for the first flight

  • Yep. The plane only came with that lame charger that only plugs into your car. I can only imagine they provide that one, because it's cheaper to manufacture (doesn't need an AC to DC converter), and they probably rationalized that people would want it, so they can charge their batteries in the field. It's a bad charger though. It never fully charges my batteries. I bought a thirty dollar LiPo charger that plugs into the wall, and it works great. Can't think of the name right now though.

  • ..... do you have the charger that only like plugs into cars??? like wtf why not a reg charger i dont understand any idea why?

  • till it hit's the ground lol.

  • the soundtrack sounds like im watching an episode of a 1970's-80's show. CHiPs maybe.

  • Get the BL version... it RULES.

  • it's basically the same price and model as the hobbyzone supercub only with less accesories!!

    good vid 5/5

  • oh never mind, i just read it has 3 channels;)

  • Pretty cool! I might buy one of these;)

does this model have 3 or 4 channels? plz reply

  • I belive its a 4 channel

  • Have you guys tried this plane without the wheels? Its performance is sooooo much better without the landing gear.

Inverted flight is possible but not practical. It can't keep the altitude.

  • Inverted flight is possible with this plane, @ the top of your loop, just push all the way forward on the stick and away you go. You should definitely get a brushless motor for your cub if you still fly it, such a nice flyer.

  • how long does it fly for?

  • It depends on hard you're pushing the throttle during the flight, but typically we get around 10 minutes of flight time on a single battery. It's good to have 2 or 3 batteries available to have a few good flights.

  • can someone tell me the characteristics of this plane ?

  • Wing span=37.25"; Overall Length=26.75"; Weight=15oz; Motor size=370 power with gearbox; Radio=FM with 3 channels - elevator, rudder and throttle; Speed Control=proportional ESC receiver; Battery: 8.4V 600mAh Ni-MH; Flying Duration=13 minutes; Transmitter Range=2500ft; Frequency=27MHz; X-Port=No

  • Fly Robbie Fly Up Up Too the Sky.... I had that song stuck in my head for forever

  • You can't fight 70's disco.

  • Really cool looks like a real fun airplane.

  • It's pretty cool plane, but it's essentially a beginner's plane. I don't think most people fly it with all the acrobatics the way Chris (the pilot) does. Chris has flown this plane somewhere between 50 and 100 times. It's probably time for him to move up to more of an expert plane.

  • Well i think he flys it really well, this is what my son and i should be flying but have been flying the Pitts Biplane Parkflyers and seem to crash each time we fly them. But it's all fun and i think Chris Does a good job flying. Very good Movie.

  • No, it's not for a beginner. It's more like a intermediet plane. I had less trouble learning the Mustang. After one year of Mustang experience, I took the J3 out and almost crashed it. Learning to fly a J3 is not like learning to bike. You tend to forget after some time.
