@TheSamiryoussef Hmm....... Probably, Ozymandias would be dead or in prison, and the President would've launched nuclear missiles, resulting total nuclear chaos. In truth, I was rooting for Ozymandias!
Eh, I hated the addition of that "It's a joke, it's all a joke" line to the film. It subtracts from the sense that he's being beaten to death that he can manage to spout a nice punchline, when the comic just emphasises how, after he discovers Veidt's plot, he lives the remainder of his life in terror and depression.
@dROUFrank While I agree with you on your comment, personally I liked that added line. His world view lived on despite his death. Besides Veidt said later in the comic that he understood before the end.
Lower the sound of this video not all they way down but almost there. then play another video "MAd World" by gary jules and play this video with the song over it.
@ryann45 Nathan King Cole music will live on forever. I'm sorry but i've watched too many good music tracks being completly destroyed by emo fans who feels they have to put mad world or Requiem For A Dream. How I loathe the overusage of Requiem for a dream. This is how the director wanted to scene to play out, visually and musical. I'm not saying this is your intention :)
this song makes it so perfect. the song alone is amazing but when paired with this scene, it's utterly heavenly to me. the soundtrack for this movie was just amazing♥
you can be as strong as you want, but if you can't land a hit in the most efficient place to bring something down, be it with a weapon, fist, or if you're Macguyver, a piece of blue tack and 1/2 cm of shoe lace, then you may as well be a big oversized sack of muscle wrapped up in skin. Always was a fan of Ozymandeus in this movie.
@Me6847 Yeah you lift weights, so you're a fucking expert on the physical capabilities of the human form. Anyway, a primary point of this fight scene, and the later one where Veidt fights Rorschach and Nite Owl simultaneously, is that they emphasise Veidts massive martial superiority to the other heroes. This is because although it isn't explicitly mentioned in the graphic novel, it's heavily implied that he's genetically enhanced himself.
@foXhoWnDeR Sir, I'm from the Department of Redundancy Department and i'd like to applaud you for your comment. In all seriousness though, this really was a beautiful scene.
@foXhoWnDeR Sir, I'm from the Department of Redundancy Department and i'd like to applaud you for your comment. In all seriousness though, this really was a beautiful scene.
@Me6847 Ozymandias is the strongest mask of them all, Comedian certainly is damn good, stronger than most other masks, except for a few that didn't survive to this time period, but no one was a match for Ozymandias.
i hat that they changed this. In the book the comedian didnt fight back because of his deep depression from adirian's plot. I didnt like that they tried to take a book like watchmen which was philosophy book and turn it into an action movie.
While I love this movie and everything about it, I have to admit that "V for Vendetta" speaks to me just that much more. Thumbs up if you agree. And Thank you for the upload, it's greatly appreciated.
Hmmi dont understand this character. Comedian actually murdered a woman who was pregnant by him....did he regret the murders? because in one scene he says he regrets the murders but then he justifies it saying that he 'was in war'...how was that an act of war? Also, why did Manhattan stand by when he shot the pregnant lady and why was Manhattan killing innocent vietnamese if he was such a humnaitarian? I dont get it.
Read the graphic novel. It goes much deeper. The movie does extremely well for only having 2 and half hours, but it just doesnt have the depth that the comic does.
@skeetnskidaddle true that but still the scene where hes in the new watchmen and discussed with ozymandias the rest including him look exactly the same thats confusing and silk spectre isnt she like 24 years old what the hell was she doing in that scene then, also i think if the comedian was his young self in his scene ozymandias wouldnt be able to kill him that easily
@BoONeo well, yeah he did look young in the scene of their first meet but he was still aout 15 years older than the group and remember, he's Silk Spectre's father. That scene was also before the government outlawed caped, masked heroes. Since then , a lot of time had past. Remember when Comedian and Nite Owl had crowd control duty? You can see him aging in that scene. So by the time he and Ozy were into it, he's much older.
Anyone else noticed tht in this scene, Ozy looks quite taller than the comedian but in the watchmen photo they dont have tht much difference in height?
i hate this scene because they kill off the comedian in such a pussy way and make him look weak in the process, i mean for a badass character he shouldve gotten a few punches in there,
@nucleardmon Well in case you care: Adrian and the comedian actually fought once and Blake actually one and when Adrain decided to kill him he studied every possible move the comedian could use and that's why he was so easily defeated. Adrain Veidt after is the "smartest man alive"
Absolutely nothing against Jeffrey Dean Morgan and the legacy-worthy performance he did, but as movies go on through the years and people look back, people begin to wonder how else it could have been. I loved the Comedian (tied with Rorschach as my favorite character), but there's one person and one person alone whom I think could have done a better performance as the Comedian; Adam Carolla, especially after his work in 'The Hammer'
@Battleschnodder No, it should be anal-lized; I'm just requesting that you watch the movie for enjoyment first. Then, go back and fine-tooth-comb-it. XD
They should have done it like in the novel; The Comedian didn't fight back because he was too depressed and didn't understand the world anymore.
I know you'll say ''Well gee, hes the Comedian, he surely put up somekind of a fight'' But when you read the novel, thats what the detectives are implying and they were wrong about everything.
@aquanaut145 The way I see it, if they make an adaption of anything, be it comic, book or game, they should make it true to the original work but give it enough originality so people won't say "I've already seen/read that, what's so good about seeing it like this?"
Yeah this and Hollis Mason's Death. The cool thing about this movie is that, it isn't the average children's superhero film. Everything in the movie is the way it's supposed to be.
