  • i dont think it could be a good idea, you forgot the wet of the weather ,becuase the oh radicals attacks the -CH2- starting the rancid . its bad to stay your computer near from the light for the same previous reason, how do you clean all the oil, its disgusting.

its a diferent method to reduce heat but its not a good solution.

  • @superivansote just rinse it, make sure every thing is unplugged and rinse it and let it dry for two weeks, but im not sure if you might damage the system.

  • how do u keep the motherboard to stay put???

  • Your friends are idiots since when has oil conducted electricity lol.

  • are they okayyyy?like seriously

  • the girl... is your sister?

    ;9

  • This works with salt water too... but just for a few seconds...

  • AAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

  • How did you go about mounting the motherboard on the back of the tank?

  • this vid gave me a headaque....l

  • OMG I would hate to have to take the computer in for repair! What a mess that would be!

  • common sense should tell you that if you know enough to put a computer together, and perform this mod, its likely and repairs you would do yourself. but i can agree it would be a hassle

  • Does the HDD survives ? or is it airtight !? BTW... pls do this experiment in liquid nitrogen :))

  • ya wooohoo -180 pc everything 800% overclocked

you yust invented the next generation of pc's

  • Can u tell me if ur computer that's submerged... STILL works after 2 years??

  • we dropped it off a balcony but it still worked when we did it.

  • does it work with transmission oil, or 2-stroke oil?

  • It isn't oil cooled, to be oil cooled they would need a radiator as well. The oil just takes longer to heat up, and spreads the heat around more, meaning the computer heats up slower (but also cools slower). Good unless you are constantly using your computer

  • yea but what if you put this oil pc on a freezer at -18C??thats trully oil cooled!!and with the oil you dont have to worry about the humidity in air thats goes liquid!

  • how ur soppose to change the oil after?

  • I say we need a earthquake.

  • Please, everyone talking about the fans in every damn oil pc video.... the fans are BRUSHLESS..... BRUSHLESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

  • theres many risks by doing this

  • how fucking stupid are you people? That oil is NOT conductive or the fucking computer wouldn't work at all. You guys are idiots. "Ooooh! Going into the power supply! That cord goes directly into the wall!" Morons.

  • lol good call macgyver2210 they are also the idiots are sueposed to take the fans off and i heard vegatable oil rots after a while

  • another video said that the fan can stay to circulate the oil

  • Both of u Are idiot, The oil is not conductive, that's why we use it to cool the system. If not it will just cause a shot. I've tried this and i worked very well

  • Does it cool it or insulate it? Anyone got their CPU and GPU upto crazy Ghz with this type of cooling?

  • The idea is to cool without noise!!!! So take out the fans before you do this. Your PC will work perfect if you do it right. And one hundred percent silent if you disconnect all the fans. Otherwise they will burn out. Yeah loads of people o ti but so what?!? its cool! Nice job man

  • dude, someguys did it, leavin the fans in... they just move slowly, moving a bit of the oil... use mineral oil, it's cleaner and wont rot like the cooking oils, it's also as clear as water.

Those guys have been running it for 2 months solid, fans are still good., setting up an external radiaotor to cool the oil would drop temps even more.

  • Hell yeah ther beatles

  • Yawn ZZZzzzZZZzzz this idea is mega old iv seen it done 100times be for

  • Wow!

  • I really wanna try this :D

What happens to the fans though...I mean they're gonna have to exert a lot more effort to push through oil than air so surely they'll burn out pretty soon won't they?

If you want to plug in a set of head phones or stick in an iPod you're gonna have to stick on a pair of gloves too...that can't be fun.

How long have you had it running now anyway?

  • fans wont burn out (not THAT much sooner, maybe a year off their usually long lives(for good fans)).

as for adding stuff, just have extension cables outside the tank

  • it is sooooo weird seing that

so hypotheticaly, if i fill a swimming pool with vegetable oil, and trhow in a couple tvs, a laptop, and a lamp everything will work ok?

  • uhuh! think so! that too was i am thinking of..

  • should work, hypothetically... just 8000 gallons of mineral oil would cost a ton

  • will you be electricuted if u put yur hand in the oil?

  • no... no...

  • dude u noe u acn take the fans out..

  • is that vegetable oil? tell me how long before it turns rancid. motor oil is much better.

  • Vegetible oil can not go rancid, it is all carbons and no alchol groups or oxygen, which cause things to go rancid

  • dont the fans go like slower than usual

  • 3M makes a non conductive liquid that has good cooling properties, dont know what its called though

  • Dow Corning 200, or 3m Novec

  • I was talking about 3M™ Fluorinert™ Electronic Liquids. I didnt know Dow did stuff like that, thanx for your help.

  • the pc works with pouring oil in it?

  • Yes, Oil does not conduct electricity, so all it does is cool the computer. THe music in the background is from the oil computer.... it has worked for over 9 months now with no problems, soaked in oil the whole time

  • omg lol so the pc was on when u did it for the first time just trying it? doesnt it fuck it up and make all the wirs mess up and everything else, what about the fan and heatsink

  • Man are you fucking stuip IF oil WAS conductive you'd have the same outcome as pouring tap water over your PC BOOM.

  • MAN WTF were u doing that for lol

  • Becuase it works
