  • I dont know why but i just didnt like this movie. I didnt like characters either, i just didnt think it deserved that oscar. But it didget my heart pumping at some points at other points i was like get the fuck outa here.

  • I understand that people can have opinons, but in the end there is black, and white. This is not a good movie.

After seeing how well praised this movie is I was very disappointed. It's an okay movie, and I see the message...sorta that they were trying to convey, but not really?

Basically this douce bags disable bombs, chases Iraqis, shoots people and does it all again the next day...how in anyway does that make it a good movie?

It;s not realistic, has no depth, no POINT, and it's boring.

  • I thought The Hurt Locker was a very good film but it wasn't the best film in 2009. District 9 or Inglorious Bastards, in my opinion, should have won at the Oscars

  • i guess its a love it or hate it movie. i loved it, because despite knowingly there wasnt much character development, i could project myself inside james in the movie. i could feel his frustration, his confusion and nihilism. and the movie was TEEEENNSEE!

  • what the hell? this movie had a hell of a story; it shows the addiction of war, and the consequences that come with it. this is clearly illustrated through will's character. and really? no storyline? no meaning? get your eyes checked people.

  • I can understand the film having no story or very little being the reason people do not like but I feel this film was made to show off and glorify war not for the story and it worked as I wanted to join the army for a while after. in my opinion

  • This movie was excellent, there were things that annoyed me, like the sniper scene... But all in all it was a good film. BUT when it came to the oscars, it should of been Inglorious Bastards or District 9. They were much better.

  • This film was crap;

see Generation Kill for a film that shows the same situation...but is well done.

Hurt Locker is filled with cliches, and the main character, who we NEVER get to know in any depth, is an asshole who thinks it's cute to not speak with the men guarding him. In the desert there's a shootout with another sniper where the Americans just act like fools... Of course all the Arabs in the film are evil or suspicious. It's a badly made cartoon.

District 9 got cheated out of the Oscar.

  • @Rexicano District 9 was a piece of crap.

  • @darklingdear

The shittty smell you are whiffing is coming from your own mouth, asshole.

  • @Rexicano I'm sorry were you the director? you don't take criticism too well. I was criticizing the film - not you; however, I can see why you like District 9 however, it's juvenile. Now THAT is criticizing YOU. Get it?

  • @darklingdear I'm sorry, but you're an idiot if you seriously think District 9 is a piece of crap.

  • i was soo under pressure watching this movie, breathing together with these awesome characters, and holding my breath back for so long, that i actually fell asleep:)

  • One of the best movies of the decade!

  • That was one lame review. "Bomb after bomb, crisis after crisis"--that's basically it? No discussion of plot or character development, cinematography, etc.? Dumb.

  • Am I the only one who thinks this movie has no plot, interesting characters, good dialogue, and no message since it's utterly unrealistic of how bomb squads work in Iraq? Besides the fact that it's well played and well filmed, it's just bad and boring.

  • @harrymcfly56

    Agree.

  • Jesus people, not every film needs a cookie cutter story line. (They fall in love with someone, they dump them, get back together, happy ending). Can you not appreciate something different? Something fresh?

  • @HarryPotterLovee I didn't hate the movie because it had a bad storyline, I hated it because it was boring.

  • @harrymcfly56 True say. I guess we all have different tastes in movies then.

  • @HarryPotterLovee True, but, I do love Harry Potter

  • @harrymcfly56 You, my friend, are awesome.

  • @HarryPotterLovee Thank you

  • @HarryPotterLovee

Thank you. I totally agree. I know its not totally realistic in its depictions of war, but in war, there's probably a different format than just 1 big problem that the characters solve at the end. It's about the character's lives, not some crazy mastermind plot that they must stop.

  • worst movie ever total trash

  • District 9 was the 2009 best picture, runner up was The Road (which wasnt even nominated, idiots) everything else can go fuck itself. except Up. You know the oscars are shit when Pixar hasnt won a best picture award yet.

  • What I dont get about bomb defusal is that why can they just find the bomb, and shoot a rifle grenade onto it?

  • @xaxie1 They put too many people at risk if they just blow it up. Plus, which is better, finishing the terrorists work by blowing it up anyway? Or, stopping them in their tracks by defusing the bombs and avoiding damage to the area?

  • I just finished this movie and i have just 1 question...

HOW THE HELL DID THIS WIN THE OSCAR?

The whole movie is trying to disarm like 3 bombs with a little bit of sniper action thrown in. Tada. The End. I just saved you all a couple hours of your lives that ill never get back. I think the Academy just wanted its first female winner, and the ones who voted her in probably never saw the movie. No one even heard of it before Oscar night and now i know why. Its because it sucked.

  • It's so boring

  • basura de pelicula quien les cree que en estos tiempos de tanta tecnologia uno desactiva una bomba de esa forma....gringos imbeciles

  • How the hell is this a review? You say like 4-5 things about the movie, and that is it.

BTW, the movie is dumb as fuck. Aparently, you can drive a lone Humvee around in Iraq without any problems...

  • It was a good movie. It was a like a documentary about a bomb disposal team in Iraq. If they followed a real bomb disposal team it would be similar and have genuine tension. Now that would deserve Oscars for the director and camerman filming the sergent as he disarmed the bombs. Is this the best film of the year ? Surely not.

  • Its a great film but very hard to understand at first.

  • One of the best films I have seen in a long time! To the people who hate this film you have no taste! go watch snakes on a plane or some other B-grade shit film this film was Aweseome!! 10/10.

  • @MrNoskire dude this movie was shittty iraq is nothing like what movies make it out to be

  • man you look like Nicholas cage :D

  • this movie rapes avatar in the ass

it deserved the SEVEN academy awards

remind me how many did avatar get oh ya 3

  • This movie SUCKED!!!! What a waste!!!

  • @chem6afreak It was good. You probably just werent paying attention.

  • great movie, but it didn´t deserve the academy award for best movie. Just saying.

  • this movie decimates avatar

  • This movie was boring.

  • this movie is awesome!

  • i didn´t like it, its unrealistic it doesnt have any good dialogue its almost as if they took a high budget movie and filmd it as an indi film youst for the sake make in it look like indi.... come on INGLORIOUS, AVATAR this films have way more substance in all aspects, this was youst a very strange ride i must say i mean DAVID MORSE, RALPH FIENNES, GUY PIERCE apearences what is this a publiciy stunt ....

  • BAD MOVIE.

  • I enjoyed this movie more then I did Avatar. I didn't like the main character at first, but by the end of the movie I felt it ended well. I liked the overall direction and tension action scenes, although some of the character development could of been done a bit better. I still think it deserves its 4 star rating.

  • Not only does The Hurt Locker have nothing new to offer on the subject of men at war, but it does not even fully realize the cliches it clings onto.

  • Saw this movie today and I thought it was intense and compelling.

It had a few flaws, and yes Jake's character could've been a bit better, but I'm surprised so many people hate it. Many people complain that's there's no set plot, but I found that to be good for this movie. If you are in Iraq, you don't know what's going to happen to you, shit happens. Following their experience in Iraq day to day and making it intense as hell seemed like a good movie to me.

  • lol, this was an average movie at best 5 stars out of 10, completely unbelievable, disjointed no coherent story or plot but WORST OF ALL, IT WAS COMPLETELY UNREALISTIC>... I want two hours back of my life!

  • @FreakyMango

you mean two hours and a half, right??? 8)

  • I don't get how no one saw the plot... the plot wasn't the series of bomb defusions, but the character development inside of the team. You're supposed to look at the big picture, and the inside thoughts of the characters, and once you look at it the right way you'll appreciate the great writing and directing.

The Oscars are fixed? They've been the most important and recognized film awards for over 80 years.

  • fantastic movie. saw it a few weeks ago and it is absolutely my favorite movie of all time.

  • By the end of the movie all I thought was...so the guy was like Rambo..To some war is hell to him it's home. <<that is all I got from this. And that the main character was like Riggs from Lethal Weapon. Inglorious Basterds was my favorite movie out of all the nominee's

  • I love how there was such an amazing story and how the plot was so recognizable. sarcasm... I don't get why this won any awards at all? I only watched it because I heard one of my friends talking about it. FYI, he's not my friend anymore...

  • This Film was great... I do not see how you didn't like it.

  • Oscars are fixed.

  • didn't like this film.

it was filmed beautifully but there was absolutely no story line and no meaning either.

i cant understand why only some people can see that. :/

it's been pieced together like a toddler doing a 5000 piece puzzle, just makes not a lot of sense.

people are only talking about how much they love this film because it won an oscar. come on! shakespeare in love won a fucking oscar and there are tonnes of people that hate that film.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 , If you paid attention, In the Grocery Scene at the end, It made (If you had some sense) you think about what it is like here, They are going through Hell Over there, and we are sitting at the Comforts of our Own Home, while they are in a realm of the Unknown.... Alright? It was a good movie, your just trying to be a critic..

  • @CGSOfficial i wasn't critisizing the grocery scene, i was saying it was completely out of place putting it towards the end. the whole structure of the film was a shambles. yes the scenes were beautiful, but in order for it to have an effect on the audience it needed to have a point, which it lacked considerably. I'm fully entitled to my own opinion and just because i dont agree with the over-the-top reviews saying it was a bloody masterpiece doesn't prove i'm TRYING to be a critic.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 ... I'm not a very educated guy and I can't write very well and read even less. But much of my education comes from watching movies. This movie spoke to me. It says that Warmongers will keep on creating and fighting wars and there isn't much you can do about it. All you can do as an Artist or as a Humanitarian is to diffuse as many bombs as possible. You will lose people you like/love and your inner life will be HELL (grocery scene represents regular life) but KEEP GOING...

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 , I give it two stars out of four because the story was bland, the acting was ok, and it was Boring. It was good with direction, but it takes more then direction to make a good film. Just because you were married to James Cameron, douse not make you as good as him.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 The point of the film was the addiction of war. And it was a good film in my opinion. Fun, intense, I enjoyed my time watching it. before i clicked on this link I knew id see a ton of people bashing it lol.

Your not my superhero, hookers are.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 It had great reviews before it won the oscar.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 Oliver Stone saw that. Oh and that Michael whats his name.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 Pardon me for speaking, but you sound like you know nothing about the film, and how it was developed. This film was created to show just how gruesome the war in Iraq was, because there are many different stereotypes about the war. This movie was developed with this in mind first, and then there was some attempt to add depth and story to the story line. This had worked out very well in my opinion.

  • @ImYourSuperhero01 Do I have to spell it out for you? It's about a U.S. Army bomb squad fireteam. Do... You... Under... Stand? Why does it need a plot? I'd like to see you make a movie so I can talk shit about it. Go fuck yourself, prick.

  • @FunVanDriver That's the subject, not the plot, mate. No need to get so defensive about the film, I'm just stating my opinion.

  • NONE Of You Actually Understand That This Is BASED on IRAQ EOD TEAMS. They ARE NOT going to be in constant combat. They ARE NOT expected to BE FIGHTING insurgents or taliban who planted the IEDs. They ARE EXPECTED to detonate those bombs safely. THIS IS NOT supposed to be Black Hawk Down, or Saving Pvt. Ryan. If you watch shows on the Military Channel, about Soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. They are patrolling 3/4 of the time they are there. This movie accurately portrayed their day to day life

  • how the hell did they get a 360 in 04 with gears of war besides that it was extremely boring but nice sound effects

  • How did this get an Oscar and something like The Kingdom hardly got a mention? This was, for me, a complete non event. Fine if you want to say war can be like that but a lot happened in terms of action..there just didn't appear to be any plot or emotion. Perhaps Bigelow and gang meant it to be that way, portraying the denuding effects of conflict on our humanity but I'm not so sure that was the intention, I really think that we just have a seriously bad case of The Emperor's New Clothes here.

  • @JamesPatrickmenzies I totally agree, I really went in thinking this would be a decent movie but the whole time it was all build up which lead to nothing. Plus the main character was a spaz and I couldn't connect with him at all on any level. I was pretty unhappy with the movie as you can expect.

  • Lots of hater in here.

  • There is no Story!!!

No villain, no goal, no obstacle to overcome (They are just doing their regular job).

Even in the overly poetic "The Thin Red Line", which can be watched out of order, there was an overall plot. First they come to the island, in the end they have taken it.

    Here? Nothing!!!!!

  • @BleakVision are you retarted by any chance. "No Villain" you say. You... are... an Idiot. Period.

  • Avatar was shit, it was the same story as Pocahontas or Dances with Wolves, only with blue people.

This movie deserved and earned the Oscar and is far superior to Avatar in nearly every way.

  • I thought it was quite entertaining but nowhere near what people hyped it out to be, I mean sure it's good with movies showing realism and all that but for it to be a movie, it gotta have a decent plot and we've already seen this "realism" 100 times before (Black Half Down for example)

first it seemed like they were building up a story which they later just dumped...

  • i agree with you (R2R3L4), watched it last night and i was expecting somthing special, after it taking the awards out of avatars hands, (as avatar has a more widspread appeal i though it would do better) i really fail to see the appeal of hurt locker, it was more of a propaganda or anti war film rather than a genuine piece of film after seeing it i would say avatar was better but even thats not great!, conclusion? 2009 bad year for film

  • This movie looks like it was filmed by a 8 year old with a gimp hand and an affinity for the zoom button. I was really disappointed with this film, there was a few times where real tension would start to build but then they would just lose it. Also, it was realistic in the action, but then the story would kick in and lose all credibility. By the way, this "review" was terrible. I haven't seen a decent Hurt Locker review anywhere.

  • Well said.

After Avatar lost the Oscar to this movie... I lost any doubt about how meaningless the Oscars really is.

  • @doublesguy Yeah... i guess you were disappointed to hear about all those nominations and awards it recieved. please go back to watching quentin tarintino movies, since, if i guess thats what you find as a good movie.

  • @ARomanianKid14

Sounds like the seven noms and one win pulp fiction got. Tarantino makes great movies. I didn't like this movie, it felt contrived. It was all build up, no payoff. I don't mean balls out action scenes, I mean justification for the tension. I couldn't connect to James, because he was a psycho that constantly put his team in danger. It never gave me a reason to forgive or trust him. You like the movie? Fine. Go on loving it. But I don't like it.

  • Hes trying to be like elias from Platoon, he just seems to be way to over cocky, and in real life, especially in modern day war, soldiers arent like that, or they arent allowed to operate

  • @doublesguy yup agreed, i didnt like how they portrayed everything aswell, oscar shud of went to avatar.

  • @doublesguy i respect your opinion and everything but ATOs (like james) often do it for the adrenaline rush its almost addicting they say thats why he was doing that

  • i hated the direction: zoom in zoom out, she tried to be spielberg BUT is more like a music video feeling the beat.

  • So unrealistic. The movie was crap. Our soldiers do not behave in this manner. If you're going to make a war movie, have the decency to go research it and have the balls to make a movie about what is really happening over there.

  • thank you!finnaly someone with brains.THANK YOU

  • Most people whining about this film are the same idiots that are butthurt because avatar didn't win. How can you give an oscar to a movie just for the graphics?? don't trying to bring the quality of movie making with graphics. Avatar was impressive graphically, but story wise it was cliche to all hell. The acting was decent at best. You don't give oscars for graphical thrillers.

  • I know that you are probably frustrated because of the fact that you are still a virgin, but that`s no reason to call me a retard and stuff.I started a debate and all you can come up with is you are a retard and so one?pathetic.why don`t you go back and watch your mom taking a shower.and by the way avatar is a even bigger pile of shit than this pile of shit.

  • This is not a review, it is a summary with an opinion and a little bit of movie footage, 1 star rating.

  • This is not a review. This is a summary and an opinion.

  • @zephiriusjixx Oh, you mean like.... A REVIEW??

  • @CMyersFilms

No a review should be talking about the different aspects of the movie, what he says in this "review" comes down to 'I thought it was good'. I can get as much from any person who has watched the movie, yet this person is a professional, he should be able to enlighten us more. Whereas this just seems like someone who jumped on the Best Picture wagon to get some more views.

  • guys! dont be such haters!

this movie won because of the editing, the sound and the writing!

    no actors won

  • This steaming, smelly turd of a film won all those Oscars? I can't believe it! My opinion of the Oscar has diminished.

'The Hurt Locker' was easily the worst film I have seen for years. In fact, I can't remember seeing a worse film. I searched for something impressive about it, but found nothing. I give it 0/10.

How could this lame excuse for a film beat 'Avatar'? The idiots who voted don't seem to know anything. And it's not even my opinion that this film is crap; it's a fact.

  • Elaborate on why you thought it was bad, you argument is quite interesting.

  • Because they would have all been dead, about fifty times over in that movie. Each bomb is unrealisticly set up, unrealisticly wired, the switch is always about 5 minutes away from the person who wants to detonate it.

It was a mix of behaving as if the enemy was stupid and smart all at the same time.

It looks like they researched this movie on a training course in the US, and didn't even bother to visit the country they were writing about. Filmed in Jordan. Hmmm

  • in ten years is avatar going to be remembered or hurt locker

  • Oh, my god.... This movie sucks. How could it beat Avatar or Inglorious Basterds in the Academy awards? It's beyond reason. The movie is filled with flaws, and shallow characters and it's nothing special. The movie has a decent beginning, but then it falls flat. Ther's no development and no ending, stuff just kind of happen. It's a bad stinker.

Worst part is when the GI takes out a running man with a sniper rifle. Believe me, a sniper rifle is not just pick up and fire, its not a game

  • There was a ending to it, you just didn't get it...

  • i don't think its that bad but yeah that shot made no sense

  • Fans of call of duty will hate it but mature people that want to know what goes on in the world will like it.

  • well i love call of duty 4,5,6 and i thought this movie was incredible. Alot better than jarhead

  • Call of Duty 2 is what really should be compared if you must compare a game's story to a film.

  • @NielsShoe I like both, though I prefer Halo over CoD.

  • im a fan of call of duty but i loved this movie

  • I like Call of Duty but really understand what real warfare is like. It's not all run and gun pew pew pew.

  • this got oscar for best picture people sayin it sucks makes me not want to see it

  • Lots of people say every film that gets nominated, or wins an academy award sucks. This is because most films winning such a difficult reward is what films are truly about, and sometimes visual effects isn't what a film is...

Avatar was good, and I admit that, but for it be win best picture at this award show against Hurt Locker, Up in the Air, Precious, and some other I just forgot just now. NO.

    Avatar = Dancin with Wolves.

  • For heroic acts : sure, some soldiers are heroes when defusing bombs. But when a guy plays james bond in the middle of the night in Baghdad and alone, that's not heroic. It's called stupidity and unrealism ! "I was in a whorehouse" : what an answer...is he talking about Abu Ghraib ? Anyway, I'm gonna flush that piece of crap down the toilet.

  • Watched the movie and I can't say it's a masterpiece...but a turkey. Some compared it to "Platoon" and that's bullshit. No storyline, insipid dialogues (unless soldiers are all fucktards ?), to sum it up : a script poorly written (oscar for best screenplay, Jesus...). The author even made that mistake : when the EOD guy is sold a DVD, he pays with dirhams...Sorry, in iraq dinar is the currency. The worst mistake I've ever seen. Okay, the movie will please "those who've never opened a book".

  • ya just watch the trailers, the rest of the movie sucks

  • i am sorry to disagree but this movie sux ballz!

  • Finished watching this movie a little bit ago and well, I really don't see what's so special about it. It wasn't a bad movie, it was alright. But I don't get why it would win Best Picture. It's just your average soldier movie. It was really kinda boring too on quite a few areas. But whatever. I guess critic opinions just mean less and less over the years.

  • This is no fucking review this is just telling what it says on the back of the goddamn box!

  • What does hurt locker mean?

  • @Kawakara it's GI slang for severe injury. It fits this movie perfectly cause these EODs were being basically "sent" to the hurt locker as in sent to their deaths by trying to defuse IEDs.

  • AUBBA=fucking rim job giving fuck fag

  • american propaganda

  • @aubba propaganda from wat my pops says this is the most accurate war film about iraq their is. i think you need to stp believing liberals like Code pink and get you head out your ass.

  • several mistakes in this movie... movie was set in baghdad 2004....

    1. soldier playing GEAR OF WAR.. game didn't came out till 2006.

    2. US ARMY wearing the digital BDU'S ... they were wearing the light brown not the the didgital uniform. the digital uniform gradually came out in 2005.

    3. Gun Turret on the the HUMMVEE... no protection during that time period 2004...

if you've never been in the military.... you would never notice the mistakes

  • @Rey5593 i dont think you are military why/ their is no such thing as digital BDU. its all ACU you faggot. and in the movie its not light brown but ACU which has some light brown in it but most tan and light OD

  • great movie.

  • What the FUCK does Kathryn Bigelow know about Iraq!? She's made US soldiers out to be morons! This film is like Jarhead, it's not entertaining and it doesn't have a message to convey, not a clear or relevant one anyway. Why doesn't the baftas and oscars listen to the public - THIS FILM IS WANK!!!

  • @MrAnywhatever

did you watch the movie. i didnt see a single man who looked like a moron.

the message is war has changed alot over the years.

its clear to me, maybe you are just Retarded or something.

  • Is this a fucking review ? you show 10 seconds of his views on the film and the rest of the fucking review is filled with actual scenes from the movies, like guess what - a trailer. Someone is doing meth again haan.

  • ok i just wacthed this movie couse everybody was talking about and i got very coriuos and.... i didnt like it, it wasnt that good, pretty realistic though and i guees the cool thing about it its that shows how can some people are willing to risk everything for some acction, and like that quote from the beginning wag is a drug.... 6.5/10 :/

  • overratted for sure...

  • This was a decent enough movie but was way overrated.

  • i`m really sorry, but this movie was a steaming pile of shit that had nothing to do with reality(given the fact that it is a reality based movie). What is up with the jason caracter?what`s his deal?is he some kind of crossover betwen chuck norris, steven seagal and james bond?i`m sorry people but nobody does those plain stupid "heroic" acts in reality for no reason what so ever!!!the smoke grenade in his first mission??????!!!!!WTF?WHY?and why did the first guy die anyway?did he scrape his knees?

  • um...to answer your post:

    a) the first guy was killed because the shockwave from the bomb blew his brains out. shockwaves are quite powerful. even the backblast from can kill you if you shoot it from inside a building.

b)heroic acts? yes, actually there are soldiers that live off the adrenaline of danger. so his personality is nothing new.

    c) smoke grenade? i haven't yet seen the movie ;p

  • this movie doesn`t make them justice.thank you!

  • @kawazuki13 Jason character - nothing like any of those, he is not 'superhuman'.

Heroic acts - what are you on about yes people do, hence the existance of bomb disposal teams and anyway he doesnt do it "for no reason" he is hooked on the adrenaline rush.

And the shockwave killed the first guy, this isnt call of duty. Moron

  • Listen asswipe!i didn`t insult any of the guys on the forum. If your tiny brain is entertained by this kids kids war movie fine!I`m just sayng it`s not REALITY!But then again you probably have a huge RAMBO poster in your room.If you think that this reflects reality, call a shrink. And please,no namecalling. We`re not ten.OPSSS!Or are you?maybe that`s why you like this movie. You will grow up to understand my criticism towards this movie.WANKER

  • how old ARE you? He threw the smoke grenade so that noone could see what he was doing, and detonate the bomb. Its common sense, albeit a bit reckless.

and I would believe if your an EOD youd need to think highly of yourself, think you can do everything, or youll pussy out halfway through a mission.

And for why the guy died, you sit that close to an explosion and then get back to me.

  • @kawazuki13 You're the most retarded kid I've heard in a long time. You have no understanding of anything, especially about the effects of explosives. The only explosive is your retarded mouth. Go re-watch Avatar, because that YOUR reality.

  • Rofl you are the biggest idiot, 1. jason does it because he just wants action and hes too cocky, 2. he threw the smoke because he wanted to create a diversion so they couldnt see anything and that he was trying to defuse the bomb, and 3. the reason why your an idiot- thompson (first guy died because he was too close and the concussion killed him. Idiot.

  • I love the fact that over the internet all of you are tough guys. This is the last comment that i will leave because most of you are morons that can only solve a debate by swearing the guy that doesn`t agree with you.maybe you should watch pokemon instead because that`s more suited for your intelect. If you are so stupid to think that this stuff happens in real life,i`m really really sorry for you.

  • ....

Have you no idea as to how war can affect a man?

    You insensitive prick.

  • YR A FAG , dont watch the review if you didnt like it.

lol ok im joking. but its ok man. not every movie is for every one. i cant stand twilight but my friends all love. it. any case.

    stay safe.

  • thanks for not freakin out on me.

  • ahha yeah man its cool. people who freak the fuck out remind me of ... ok well they remind me of the westboro baptist church. the more we start to identify with the people we consider an enemy the more we start to realize we have more in common with them that we think. so i approach every argument with that idea. have you seen the movie called " the kingdom"? its actually ... decent i guess is the word i would use.

  • @Vegeta954 Well, what you thought and what the academy thinks are two entirely different things. Don't be surprised when it wins Best Picture and Best Director at the Oscars next month!

  • It really did. She is now the first woman director to receive the award.

  • Come on man, my cousin had a less stressful job than these guys in Iraq (mechanical repairman instead bomb squad), and one of his jobs was too pick up giblets from the battlefield.

  • I just couldn't get over the lack of realism in nearly every aspect.

    Though in scenery definitely A+

Do not join EOD expecting to do any of this, you'll use a little robot put some c4 ontop of some 155 rounds hit a button, and then it goes boom while your safely in a vehicle.

I'd love to see a movie that actually used high explosives, i've never seen a movie do that they always use low grade explosives every movie, I know they look more dramatic but its not real.

  • whats the difference? Is there just more flame/bang with the low stuff?

  • @ucd77 looks more devistating but its really not, fire and stuff but if high explosive goes off its more of a shockwave than a fire ball. it is much more powerfull though

  • not much of a review

  • what did they mean by days till rotation?

  • @hanseyjemmerer a rotation is the same thing as a deployment. 30 days left in a rotation means 30 days till the deployment is up and you are headed stateside again

  • are you retarded its when you get to go home

  • its days until they get to go home, during that time another squad is on duty, then that squads rotation ends and the original squad goes back

  • A good movie although the ending was a bit much especially the scene with the main character and his child...

  • what do you mean by that to emotinal at the end with the child?

  • I mean that the main character became instantaneously articulate and emotionally in tune at the end of the film with his child (rather than, say, with his wife) . I thought that was a bit contradictory... That aside, I would place this film next to Generation Kill as the best audiovisual work that has come out of a shitty situation in that part of the world...

  • Good movie, but way too much shakey cam throughout the entire thing. I cant watch this one more than twice.

  • Can't believe I dint know about this movie until now, watched it the other day, probably one of my favorites last year.

  • My biggest surprise of the year

    Such an exhilarating movie

  • Just saw this movie and I have to say its easily my favorite movie of the year. This is a must watch.

  • This was a very good movie.

It was very realstic in my eyes, not trying to do any fame and was taking it self for real.

There was no CGI! And I felt entertain!

  • you never turn your back to an explosive in one of those suits

  • Sure they could, but they had lost there self-confidence and they had a wrong leader and ideals!

  • @danxtur

    SS and the Wehrmacht Rules!

  • Rules what?

  • seen this movie last week, very good it was, better than jar head easy peasy.

  • they werent SAS, SAS soldier wouldnt be collecting bounties. They were contractors
