I spent a whole year in Italy and I did not notice anything like that! Hooked noses are in any country. I was surprised when I met Japanese with hooked noses! I thought it was sth that could happen occasionally in Europe and often in Middle East, but actually it is sth that can occur everywhere, no matter your race.
Obviously, Americans have mixed blood, so you can't understand if your nose comes from a race or another: one single person englobes all the races of the world

In Europe Italians are the inhabitants of Italy.
Macaroni cheese & Pepperoni Pizza are just an example of the American fake-Italian food, a kind of food that doesn't exist in Italy (the names are not even in Italian).
In USA there's even a fake-Italian language (e.g. guido, nino etc. do not exist in Italy), fake-Italian behaviour, clothes, tanning, features etc.
