  • Ray Mears & Lars Fält, enough said...

  • Cold sucks!

  • how cosy is that shelter and snow cabin. sound. happy days.

  • so if you get forstbite in sweden you get court marshalled?

  • @OffTheGrid1000 We used to. Nowadays you just get a bollocking and a discharge.

  • Ray just stole someones auger! :)

  • maybe put big stones in the fire and onto tthe ice, and scoop out the water and again and again. :D

  • how to break through ice WITHOUT the tool? (if you were in a survival situation....)

  • @00Avenger17

Ice chisel or axe, and a lot more effort.

If you're in that situation without an axe, you're as good as dead anyway.

  • @lordsummerisle87 hmm very true. Im just saying that hacking through up to 1 metre (or more!) of ice might be slightly impractical in a survival situation....

  • @00Avenger17 I take your point -- in a 'survival' situation (by which I mean an unexpected event occurs whereby your survival hangs in the balance) hacking through 1m of ice with an axe would expend a lot of calories, likely more than you would catch with improvised tackle. However in a long-term situation this may pay off -- this is a 'bushcraft' program, not a 'survival' program.

In any case, take along suitable kit and rations -- they'll buy you time to either get home, get rescued or fish.

  • @lordsummerisle87 Oky I say we keep it at a truce =P I just find it slightly confusing when he uses the term "survival" so many times - however if he uses tools its not really survival is it - maybe slightly tougher camping xD ? Despite this I have immense respect for Ray!

  • @00Avenger17 Completely agree. What Mears needs to realize is that he does Extreme Camping and NOT survival. The funniest of his videos was when he shows us how to make an axe handle with, you guessed it, an axe. Next thing you know, he'll teach us how to filter water by first pulling out a Brita filter.

  • @mistasho17 Yes! =P I completely agree with you :P So true! I find that Ray Mears is really great when it comes to his knowledge about survival (which I greatly admire) however I find myself sitting there a bit confused sometimes when he starts using tools which you would NEVER have in a true "survival" situation.

  • @00Avenger17 Well the only chance of getting Fish for food in this situation would be if you were staying or lucky enough to stumble across a cabin where more likely than not there would be a orga, Many many cabins world wide have Orgas.

  • @00Avenger17 Then you are not going to get fish.

  • @00Avenger17 Use the little one on your penknife

  • @00Avenger17 Piss a hole through the ice.

You'll need a lot of piss.

  • @Havockeer bahaha great ^^ :)

  • @00Avenger17 get a big log and smash the ice? rocks maybe.

  • @00Avenger17 heat up rocks and put them on the ice.

  • Ice fishing and looking at body heat. COOL. :)

  • @Astrofootballer I would assume that he had brought it with him, just as you should when traveling through similiar regions.

  • what do you do when you can't pull a bait fish out of thin air, where did that one actually come from?

  • nice shades Ray!

  • Those funny looking goggles actually do work. I made some one time when my Snow goggles fogged up.

  • LMFAO AT 2.32

  • @Risti2ss it looks just a bit retarded =)

  • @brattfreke like you would really be worried about something stupid like that in real life. psh lol. plus they actually look kinda cool.

  • @Schutzstaffel23 Dude, are you seriuos? Don't tell me he doesn't look mongoloid, its obvious that those evil shades makes you at least 2/4 of a mongoloid.

  • @brattfreke ok so he looks slightly east asian. but i mean wtf does that have to do with anything?

  • @Schutzstaffel23 It's dangerous to wear those in the artic, wild animals becomes even wilder when mongoloids are around. Plus, there are several well ducumented cases when artic squirrels have raped mongoloids in that specific area they are filming in, its like dressing like an elk durring the annual elk-hunt, except for the over hanging risk of squirrel rape. So is it really worth it? is it?

  • @Risti2ss Me too, I still want some though. lol

  • nice shades

  • Gäddsax ftw :D

  • haha... cool inuit goggles :-)

    You are the Man, Ritchie

Thank You... for all this .... ALOT !!!
