  • how is this hooked up anyway

  • I do like these amps BUT I why would I buy this for 500 when I can buy a used 112 Mesa Boogie for about the same???

  • could this be a pretty good metal amp? how loud does this thing get also, and does the volume increase fuck the tone up?

  • Just wanted to update my thoughts on this after scoring a used one (mint condition) for $225. It is absolutely fantastic serving the role as a pedal platform. On it's own, great for jazz and country but literally void of any kind of gain despite a knob which says "gain." However, slam this with a great distortion pedal and whoa.....this little 1x12 will knock your teeth out. I'm glad I found a used one for such a great price because I would have missed out on it at its normal street price.

  • @Maxx61 How is the deep bass response on the Club ? ......does it have the bass response of a larger cabinet

like a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe ?

  • Gotta have one, I'll keep my tube amps but this would be a good gigging amp for an old guy with back problems.

  • Those licks sound familiar... ;)

    Love my little Lunchbox!

  • thats a dam tasty amp.,.,.

  • on the contrary, I have the Lunchbox and now the Club 12 and can say it is twice the amp, output is more efficient, room spread, added tone controls, and reverb make this a small killer and a Lunchbox dominator ! As for the price point, there is quite a bit more material, larger speaker, driver and added components to make a Club, don't know costs but... what tube amp is this size and can keep up with it on the output side, don't forget tube maintenance

  • @joeylovetx I cant see why anyone would chose this over a cube 80x or a flextone 3 and tube maintainance is next to nothing these days.

  • great playing man

  • Seems overpriced for a solid state one channel amp that seems to be marketed as a pedal platform. What makes the Lunchbox such a great success is the sound/price point. I'm not so sure you're getting twice the amp for twice the money here. Perhaps if it was priced at $350-375, it would be a no brainer but there's a ton of great tube amps available now for this kind of scratch. Just my .02 Nice playing though...for sure.

  • completely right

  • @theartofshred I cant see why anyone would chose this over a cube 80x or a flextone three

  • @Maxx61 Sometimes people (me for one) prefer SS to tube for certain situations

  • @fishqwer I certainly can understand that but my comment was essentially aimed at the price of the amp. You get wonderful solid state sounds from a host of amps equally sized as the Club for significantly less scratch. I believe they missed the boat on the pricing. Does it perform twice as good as it's little brother, the Lunchbox? From what I've been reading, not even close. I suspect you'll start to see these discounted this fall. Five bills is too much for a bare bones SS 1x12

  • @Maxx61 My go to amp is the Henricksen 112 (SS, 1 channel, 5 band EQ, reverb) which is really as simple as it gets and I payed $899 for it! It is the best amp I've ever played with and i get comments about my tone every single time I play on it.

  • @fishqwer Great amp for sure, as are the Pritchard solid state amps. However, I think both would be considered "boutique" for solid state and are priced accordingly. This amp's price point is my major contention with it. I suspect it will be adjusted eventually by the big box retailers who carry them. For $350, I think it's competitive.
