Wouldn't the world be a much better place if there were no religions? The bus advert should say "there is definately no god!" some christians are alright but the people like this ignorant man in this video are wrong, full stop. If only everyone was like this woman.
What difference does that make, it is the same as saying Theres probably no God, which is the same as saying, actually, the truth is we have no idea that there is no God but we are quite prepared to take a leap of faith on the matter when we die. I like the way she says "When we die we will be at peace; at rest", ie there is life after death. I made a vid about it, come and see. Ariane agrees with the Bible on this.
Man, I just like to take an interest in people I meet and share moments of warmth and friendship, find common ground we share and do my best to be concerned about the welfare of other humans around me. But then someone brings religion up and it drives a big fat wedge between us and suddenly we're arguing about our differences instead of laughing about the common joys, pains and experiences we've most likely both encountered. I think Jesus was a fantastic man, I just don't believe in religion.
jesus was real but he has no tie to anything supernatural at all. he was probly just crazy and saw hallucantions or somthing. man i just wanna punch cristians in the face for being so stupid
How can one say that Jesus was real? The gospels exhibit contradiction, exaggeration, and embellishment. These are signs of uncertainty and insecurity. They had little faith in him, which is WHY they created a faith for him.
:-) I'm not sure what you're referring to but there are several antiquated sources which discuss Jesus. Josephus, Tacitus, Seutonios, Pliny the Younger, The Jewish Talmud amongst others. :-)
Sherlies arguments: , "there is no scientific proof for the existence of hell"; "it s a very negative idea to believe we are born as bad people" 3:26; "I personally feel for myself there is no reason to believe" 3:41
a godless world, a world that lives without caring about God, wont succeed.
I very much doubt humanity would be destroyed if it stoppped believing in god. It is important not to view atheists as immoral criminals with no sense of right and wrong.
Besides, if we were to take the bible literally, we would kill people who divorced.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that atheists are immoral criminals, just that they have nothing on which to ground their morality.
I would probably say that if we misread the Bible we would kill people who divorced. Otherwise, why aren't Christians killing divorcees? There must be a reason other than the notion that the Bible is cherry picked. :-D
Our status as social animals, and the evolutionary traits of such a co-operative lifestyle is the gournds of our morality. It's a key indicator of evolution that benefits our speices as a whole.
Contrary to assisting us in this morality, belief in God so often reduces our development and encourages us to perform immoral actions that would otherwise be below us.
Search with an agenda and you'll inevitably find God. Search from a neutral standpoint and find that God is unnecesary.
Whether there's a God or not is irrelevant. What is certain is that all religion is bollox p Purely a bureaucracy between man and the unproven . The arrogance of that idiot to say that all non christians are going to burn in hell makes me mad.
1. did you know that Nero was putting Christians in wax and then burning them at parties? These victims could have rescued themselves, if they had denied Jesus.
2.Are you as strong as Jesus who commited himself knowingly into the arms of long and slow torturing?
3.Compare your thinking with ppl like CS Lewis, Einstein and those "unpopular" scientists.
4.Jesus (or the new Testament) did not create religion but an eternal relationship and forgiveness. Its a private matter between you and HIM.
Are those mutually exclusive? As in, if you're not thick, you're weak? Or can you be thick and weak? Because I'm not thick and I don't think I'm weak. Not what I'd think of as weak anyway. Or maybe I'm too thick to realise I'm weak or too weak to realise I'm thick. :?
@DeeperRootsProject I'll assume that you are not thick, that leaves weak, and by weak, i mean a weak, easily-influenced, suseptable mind. Yes, I stand by my statement.
Ah, thanks for the clarity. I'm glad you've got me (and presumably all other Christians) figured out. Let me know when you get the report through, I'm still working on the complexities of human character.
I love that the add says, "there's probably no God.." If you don't believe in God then why would you say "probably" and that they try to bring about a sense of peace by saying "stop worrying." I'm quite sure that worrying will not stop if you suddenly claim to not believe in God...
I think many atheists use the term probably because they would not claim to have all the knowledge in the world. However, it often doesn't come across like that :)
Wow, the British are so proper when they debate. Why can't Christians and Atheists in the US get along like civilized people?
PsoMyth 2 years ago 6
Because this is the US. We don't do civilized debate we do heavy metal screaming. That's just what our culture is.
Savior20061 1 year ago
@PsoMyth its simple because Christians are not civilized people expecially in US
