  • What were the songs??

  • I feel old after I watched and recognized some of the riders. 45 tooth chain wheels will not be missed

  • i bet if i was back in the old days ill be pro

  • I like new bike way more but i can tell they did more freestyle back then

  • new bike are soooo much different

  • I like it.....

  • Sokkal jobb ezt nézni mint a mostani csicskákat

  • I meant Hollywood Boulevard ? lol..

  • Sunset Boulevard ! I think the " Thrashin - Downhil " movie has a scene here too. This movie resumes a big part of my childhood...

  • The Greatest BMX video EVER !

  • 7:13

    i think thats so sick!

  • DYNO!!! : )

  • I got same bike from 80', this summer I found it in warehouse. Not I'm restoring it, so if you want to see the process of restoring it, just subscribe to my channel to follow latests videos!

  • Man ! These old school bmx bikes were and continue to be so cool. They were easy to identify.

  • Whats the name of the trick at 7:15 ?

  • Comment removed

  • i love how they're wearing liike fire proof suits while biking lol

  • Eddie Fiola. Thats I have to say.

  • What are the three 3musics on this vid?

  • @LOLUMADNUB New Order is the first one, not sure which song.

  • @KERRSURF Thanks! Gotta love the 80's music though.

  • Man 80's BMX ruled, I mean I respect today's riders but they got nothing on the guys from the 80's. Eddie Fiola, Brian Blyther, Ron Wilkerson, Dennis McCoy, Scotty Freeman, RL Osborne, they were the best man. Why do you think the bikes from this era are still sooo sought after today, because they were THE BADDEST Bmx Bikes ever built..

  • how do we ride :D

  • @driaslow: hotsteeze is the shiz

  • @Y4ZgDK BMX started totally awesome, but today you and little bitches like you make it gay punk !

  • i remember all the bike mags had plans and Blueprints of how to build your own Quarter pipe and do an aerial in your own back yard ! totally great .Nothing like seeing the pros do it in person . Standing next to the ramp the hang time is a lot!

  • @watersport32: go to hotsteeze. com -> it lists like a tone of wake and skate tricks

  • for all asking about the a seat being so high the reason was it needed to be even with the handlebars so that you could hold both the seat and handlebar at the same time allowing you to do tricks like AROUND THE WORLD and POGO AROUND THE WORLD but we just don't see much of the old school stuff now

  • i want a old school bmx so bad. i dont know why

  • They know how to air a quarter!

  • круто

    олд скул рулит миром

  • bikes were so gay back then lolz!!

  • @iMoNsTeRBMX HAHAHA you dumb fuck bikes are gay now, back then bikes were awesome !!

  • @fastvwg60 holy crap dude listen to urself. namecalloing in a heart beat. i just like new bikes better overall because the framework and setup. i dont like those high seats and those 35lbs bikes if thats what u prefer then right on but im not calling you a dumb fuck over it chill out...

  • what helmet r u wearing

  • What is the name of the first song?

  • @akl4130 Good call with the rotor.

  • Man I miss those days! I remember practicing decades in my front yard so when I crashed I wouldn't get as hurt, once I got that mastered we started rolling decades and it just went on and on. Best times of my life, if I could go back I would and just ride my GT Pro Performer all day!

  • this is the 80s and 90s u realise....

  • The costums is gay !

  • @ArvydasWhite you are gay boy !!

  • The best times...GT forever...!

  • This video did it for me tonight ..now I'm off to ride the missis to show her what I used to be like....YEHH BABY.

  • thumbs up if u hate thumbs up comments

  • good times i love it:D

  • Eddie Fiola, Martin Aparijo; RL Osborne; Dennis McCoy; Matt Hoffman all the original innovators for todays freestyle.

@awhite2020 Love that reference to "RAD" Still love watching that movie today. Reminds me of my early teens when I was doing some of this same stuff.

  • You think your brother's so cool, he nothin' next to Bart Taylor!

  • yellow clothing, pink bike... seriously?

  • @WTHWTFWTB

You're watching clips from over 23 years ago. Did you click on the video expecting to see Scotty Cranmer or Aaron Ross busting out modern tricks from footage in the 80's...

  • @ViperSRTnACR did i say something about tricks? i dont know if you noticed, but i was talking about the clothing '--

  • @WTHWTFWTB

I know what you said, I figured you could make the assimilation between the riders and that era of time when "Freestyle" was associated with riding outfits due to having corporate like companies backing them in those days. It wasn't until 89 when the freestyle fad wore off that things became more "street" like you see in today's videos.

  • Comment removed

  • @WTHWTFWTB old school clothing

  • 80s man!

  • im suprise that guy has a peg

  • I remember I was watching a 9 years old boy diving in a waterfall and now I'm here..

  • I think they're better than me.

  • Comment removed

  • in my opinion these guys are just as good as todays riders....

  • @TheCoDandHaloMan Nah nowadays kids arn't accepted unless they can barspin and backflip and tailwhip air and alike but I definitly reckon they kick ass, back in the day where people would just get together and bmx for the hell of it not "I can do tailwhips and you can't so I'm better then you"

  • @zzfanxD si

  • 4:56 WTF!

  • im glad i live in the 21st century look at there style ewww

  • Anyone who thinks old-school is gay.....Take a look at your 2nd grade pics (If you made it that far)

  • Bikes used to be so light, and let you do amazing things like the guy in this video. Now there all heavy and ugly and hard to do tricks with. Skyways and Pk Rippers were PHAT!

  • WOW

this guy is actually a legend, amazing balance

  • quoi de mieux que ces ptites images old school..jsuis fan

  • they are like mike miller in the 80s =[)

  • how do u ride with them seats so high

  • @bmx17171 Because the riders used to use the seat to grab the handlebar with the hand and keep the bike some way of static...

  • @bmx17171 Because Its Odschool They Used To Seatgrab And Use It For Balance :)

  • @bmx17171 they ride flatland so a high seat is good and therer tricks on a ramp kinda involved seats

  • @bmx17171 how do we ride with seats so low :D

  • @LionOfJudahClan its COMPLETLY out of the way so i dont understand what ur trying to say. NOW if u said how could we pedal with the seat so low that wud make more sence.

  • @LionOfJudahClan I saw a guy ride with no seat. He said it pushes him to not sit down and land tricks standing up. Imagine gong big and land hard as hell on a poll sticking up..

  • @LionOfJudahClan my plastic federal is nearly touching my tire lol

  • @LionOfJudahClan they dont hit the bikers balls every time he fucks up

  • @LionOfJudahClan well if u do street BMX we use the seat lower so we can have a higher jump i mean if we use the seat a bit high when we pull the bike it would end crashing with our balls and it couldn´t go higher, also flatland riders use it that way so they can perform tricks easier i mean like floating, they have to grab the seat so they need it high that way they can easily reach it ^^ nice video btw old school ftw =)

  • @bmx17171 flatlanders naturally have it quite high so they can grab it

  • @bmx17171 sitting on them and pedaling XD?

  • this is when freestyle had style, unlike today where all you see is stupid shit like spinning in circles on the front and back wheel all day.

  • it means that i bought a old bmx for 170 bucks(*&^%$**!!!)

  • my bike wasn't just for tricks it was for transportation too, we needed a fucking seat. I think this no seat shit is just plain stupid, these guys didn't have any problem with actually using their saddle.

  • Comment removed

  • your outfifs are ridiculous

  • @ZONEDPRODUCTIONZ a lot better than your faggot ass clothes trying to look like every other loser out there you studid 10-year old littler bitch.

  • @stacky852002 im kidding you fucking prick geez calm down!!!!

  • Did the old ones pedal backwards?

  • wow their front pegs were high somewhere on the fork maybe its better :D

  • wow only thing i can say is if anyone disses this go fuck ur hat

  • Comment removed

  • @emonoodle321 bad music?

  • Nice video, ROOTS, we have our own Crazy Lacy 47 and his son Chris 24 and Corey 20 who still ride out of Apple Valley ca, He started his team Super Style II in 1979, he was an Original Vans member in 1982. The bmx world call them the first family if Freestyle BMX. Keep up the good work!

  • no disrespect...but whats up with the fruity outfits?

  • @BMXLINKABISS You had to be in the 80s. You can look back at any period and criticize fashion--20 years from now, you'll laugh at skinny jeans and maybe low seats, etc. That's just how it is.

  • @belowthepovertyline I already laugh at skinny jeans lol . I raced back in the 80's and honestly most of the guy's did freestyle because they sucked at racing . Kinda like freestyle motor cross all those guy's are failed racers .

  • OMG 0:29 IS NOT OLD SCHOOL!

  • full face helmets for flatland was compulsary in the 70's

  • @Chiliwacko Do you see how high their seats are already....but that is true

  • lol

  • 1:03 no eyes, kids dont try this at home... u may touch ur eyes~!! >:3

  • 5:07 What the fuck?!

  • gay

  • GTV ?

  • Wow, i grown under this culture, and i just to practice streestyle, and this old school was my school, thank "Cannibal", thanks "guerito" Mario, "vampiro" Gracias a todos mis cuates de aventuras cuando saliamos a "rampearnosla" en el metropolitano y en toda la ciudad de Leon, yo tenia una Dyno Air, y seguro seguiria en esto de no ser porque me la robaron.

  • Why are the classic versions of sports always so much cooler?

  • without the oldschool, there would be no new school

  • Im sure that some tricks of flatland were better that days, those guys were very talented!

  • Keep clicking '1' While this is playing. :O Bumder.

  • This is pretty gay. Just calling it like I see it.

  • @DeadlyHygiene

It didnt seem that way in 1986 though.. everything in the vid was considered "Cool" at the time.

I recently went to the bike park and all the new generation is doing is bar spins,, whoppers and 360's,

    nothing new .

  • THIS IS ACTUALLY CALLED FLATLAND BMX.....alhtouhg i agree it is oldschool and is has its part in bmx history, IT STILL EXISTS

  • @PWNageSIMSON pretty sure flatland bmx doesnt use quarter pipes?

  • Anyone interested in a 1982 huffy pro lighting message me!

  • 00:45 he looks like he is pactising how to shag

  • Ahhh 44/16 gear ratio. Learn from the best kids! 25/9 is gay

  • 0:54 aw men those shoes

  • old school is so shit u wanna c better look up liam harrington and dom williams

  • I wonder if have these guys can still have babies ...

  • i could never do any of these tricks. awesome vid.

  • Can you tell that their seat is set up high.. and today they are set as low..

  • Our forefathers gentlemen.

  • Its RAD!!! ya if you dont know the movie I suggest you see it!!!

  • Guess it doesnt matter what you ride. BMX has always been the same. People out there having fun doing what they love. I like the old vids once in a while. Looks like seats have gotten lower since 1982 though lol

  • 5:00 - 5:30 i wanna learn to do tht haha

  • brings tears to my eyes :*D

  • trick at 0:24 its amazing =D!!!!

  • these guys look cool, but nowadays people who ride bmx wear tight pants from a girls store

  • They're with helmets!

  • more like oldschool trialbikeing

  • @afszero uhhh no, only thing i saw was flatland, vert and bit of street, no trials at all

  • @b1gbudda watch danny mcaskill they do the same like him

  • @afszero i know who he is, watch tim knoll, that is an amazing style!

  • I started racing in 1974 when I was 5 years old until I was about 19. I use to race at the Vallejo track mosly in the 70's and then the Napa track and Fremont a lot in the 80's and then roseville and stockton, etc. BMX was awesome.. I was so addicted as a kid... still am...

  • yeah! good times!

  • which is he name of the first song??

  • Ok, the song rules. Check out some New Order and Joy Division.

  • Old School bikes like GT,Haro,DiamondBack bikes where awesome! The only thing different from then really is, Seat hight,Chains,Chain-Wheel sizes

  • I love this, i rode hutches but GT, and Haro had killer teams back then. Good stuff

  • Is this clip from the movie RAD

  • @tomcattommy416

No, it's not from the movie Rad. Some of these guys are in Rad, but I think maybe this is from the GT tour video. For sure not rad though.

  • Old school BMX actually took balls. Take into account all the intricate shit he does with straight cable.

  • The thing I like most about this video is that they were doing something that had never been done before. I couldn't possibly give enough respect to the originators of what this has become. The music is bad of course, but everyone's going to be saying the same thing about today's music 25 years from now.

As for me, I had some decent bikes, bent a lot of rims, cracked seatposts and stripped handlebars, I didn't have much for style I just beat the life out of 'em.

  • I am 35 vused to be semi-pro. Rode a Haro team master and loved it but it got jacked. I just bought a GT Pro performer and getting back into it. Your never to old to stop riding. Love me some freestyle

  • i used to bmx back in the 80's, only thing gay about this is the song, seriously sucks.

  • You had to wear a full face helmet in the 80's so they would know you was a pro BMX'er. Now you can only pull off the 'pro look' if you have long shorts, high white socks and no top on.

Got to love the 80's !

  • good times good times, arnold was still body building

  • those bikes are just so nice I really like their colours

  • wow, 32'' bars?

  • wats up wit the get up lol

  • Comment removed

  • still miss my old 83 diamondback viper , thieving ars-holes

  • This is old school "freestyle", BMX is on dirt tracks...i rode from 1977-1997

  • @donnywal BMX describes the bike.. BMX freestyle is this, BMX racing is racing..

  • GTV

  • WOW!

  • full face FTW

  • Oldschoold isit was something new and rad during the 80's , so RESPECT is what it deserves, BMX ACTION FOREVER...38 years old Elite (many years ago) European rider...The same happened with snowboard...THIS IS RAD!!!!

  • 1 piece cranks ftw

  • Love old school BMX. That being said, I feel the need to get a sweet jumpsuit. Sweet pre-detangler tricks.

  • @mccakb01 They're using the old Rotor detangler. They came out before Gyros. It's hard to notice because it is a single cable set up. See the thing that looks like a chrome doughnut on the stem.

  • this stuff is so rad, takes me back. Youtube 'the bike heist teaser' a new indie comedy about friendship and bikes, should be good. We really need the support, please spread the word. Thanks so much, long live bicycles!

  • so this is old flatland....
