You're right. it depends. in my case i like to be able to play a track, loop some others, beat repeat them, pitch shift them, overdrive em, tempo change from 130 to 20. I need a controller and amixer too, and with Ableton i like to control a synth and a drum machine by midi. But i understand your point.

You can rewire Reason quite easily into Ableton Live. As far as using Live in conjunction with Serato, I am sure there are ways to make this happen. You can at least record stuff with Serato then put it into Ableton and continue the craziness. I use Reason too and it rules my world. boo ya
