Takes me back 40 years when I was in Nam! Good Vid, I gave 4 stars - would have given it 5 stars but there just isn't enough time between pictures to appreciate the images before another is flashed on the screen. Joan Baez' version is OK, but Bob Dylan's is much better! After all he wrote this song of protest. Damn, I miss the 60s!!!
The corny video transitions are not needed and there's not enough time in between them to appreciate each image. Great content though, keep on keepin' on.
Nice video! However, if the song "spoke" to you why didn't you at least give the song writer credit? I mean Bob Dylan wrote the song, not Joan Baez. Seems kind of sexist. Bob's version was much better than her's. His spoke to a whole generation!
agreed dylan wrote and sang the song and that his version is better than joan baez but Peter Paul and Mary Had his song on the charts before he sang it and they went to #2 with it ... I liked them better!
Now if that does not imply that Joan Beaz wrote it, what does it imply? It sure does not mention Bob. I feel WildFancyLady could at least give the song writer credit, I'm sure Beaz does on her album.
If you are so sure it has been changed, please enlighten me as to where this change occurs. It is certainly not listed that way in the credits.
Just because you know who wrote the song does not mean that an 18 year old has a clue.
The title to the video is STILL "Blowin' In The Wind," not what you have written. Sexism is sexism no matter how you slice it. This goes way beyond an "oversite." Unless Wildfancylady didn't know who wrote it--and how sad is that?
I didn't and my son didn't look at About This Video, so I wouldn't know whether or not it has been changed. I do know that my son and I each came to the same conclusion, separately; the music was not by Joan Baez but by Bob Dylan. And that Dylan was not given credit for having written the song.
I hope you are right about it being an oversight---that wildfancylady was not being sexist . But this video does not help for young people that have no idea the width and breadth of Dylan's work.
Have a look at her site and videos. You will see this. Dylan is more widely known than you assume. I would say that all the young people i play the guitar with, know about the great Bob Dylan. Cheers.
The selection of images is very moving. The one with the young boy and the marine is so sad. It speaks volumes. This piece needs to be seen by the whole world...soon. How can we make that happen...or...???
I would love to know how you get them seen...If you find out please tell me. I have lots of these on my site that I made some my husband made. I think Tags play a big part.
This video could have been so good but the images are way too fast

bluespader6869: You know, I thought of that after I posted.

I believe that it was just an oversite.
Anytime Blowing in the Wind is sung, i
always think of Bob Dylan first.

The last image of a very good video says:
Video By: WildFancyLady
Music By: JOAN BEAZ
Song: BLOWING IN THE WIND
Now if that does not imply that Joan Beaz wrote it, what does it imply? It sure does not mention Bob. I feel WildFancyLady could at least give the song writer credit, I'm sure Beaz does on her album.

Like i stated, i`m sure it was an oversite and
has been changed to read:
"Protest Music Montage Song Written by Bob Dylan and Sung by Joan Baez"
Cheers.

Callenge1, You stated in your last paragraph:
"The title to the video is STILL "Blowin' In The Wind," not what you have written."
I didn`t write anything about the title and
imo, The title is excellent for the video.

maurieer: Concerning the last paragraph and what was and what was not written, you are right. I stand corrected.

In the early 70's we used to sing this around the campfire in Canada. I always get teary eyed. So simple, I love this.
