  • This is a really good song and a lot of other stuff makes sense now - bob dylan -> highway 61

  • @smokerlg - thanks, man!

  • Bloody Brilliant!

  • Man, I need a shower after every time I sit down and listen to this.

  • You folks give the most real sound and feeling of the music you play of anyone I've heard in sooo long. Can't get enough of it.......

  • it's the only way we know to play... it makes me happy to hear that it satisfies.

  • So Sweeeet!! Thanks!

  • That's the most authentic string band sound i heard on the tube... Bravo from France....

  • thanks, man - we can't really play it any other way.

  • OMG - that is SUPER-FLY!! Stop making us mere mortals look so.....well mortal.

  • Nate - you know I'm sitting around while Kim and Sam do the hard stuff!!!

  • Really love your stringband sound!! Closest in athmosphere and playing to what I hear on the old 78ths of Jack Kelly and Will Batts!!

  • vele dank! that's what we're shooting for, of course... replacing dan sane with sammy's mandolin...

  • Fantastic!

  • pure alchemy ...

i think we have the same model bowlback - an "a. galiano?"

  • honestly, we're not altogether sure how this one got here... just came out on its own.

The mandolin is labeled 'Stella' - has fancy purfling and what look like celluloid inlaid flowers on the pickguard. I have a couple other Stella bowl-backs, but they're nowhere near as fancy or well built as this one.

  • "stella" mandolins have their own following - also american made - but sam will know that from the "bowlbacks of note" thread in the "classical, etc." section at the mandolin cafe.

    once again - great stuff.

  • The fancy Stella actually belongs to me, but I'm happy to have Sam play it when he's around, dog-gone him.

I dig Stellas, but the Galianos are the really nice ones...

  • Great job!

  • Thanks, man - it was more fun than anything else... in retrospect, I think it's too short - is that immodest? Don't mean to be, but I do kinda like this one... love the fiddle & mandolin... woohoo!

  • When the train gets a-rolling no one wants to get off. And why should they?
