This is the absolute worst part of the game for me when it comes to keeping Ashley safe. I can usually count on two things in this chapter: Getting caught in a bear trap while running from the church, and Ashley getting snatched up in the barn. Nevertheless, this is an incredible speedrun.

@iressivor Theres a place to hide ashley in both places, one is the the large bell tower, and the second ashley can hide in the dumpster at the very beginning of the second village.

Damaging Luis stops him from shooting at the windows, slowing the ganados' entrance. This is so that the player can kill them off faster with a grenade all at once when they group up inside the cabin.

just in case an enemy was to attack, they can't harm you if they grab you from behind, so it's smart to reload in a corner. I do that sometimes too. if you reload in the open you will most likely get hit. this strategy is REALLY useful in the dual garradors fight.

That is a Las Plagas. you deal with it during chapter 2. use a rifle or shotgun to kill it.

isn't the cabin fight supposed to be like kill 50 enemies or survive for around 5-10 minutes(don't mark a minus on the comments please), I just always wondered if that was true.I heard this from a friend.

The only way to get past the cabin is to kill 40 enemies. I'm 99% sure Louis' kills count toward that total. The timed sequence only applies to the village fight in 1-1, the cabin fight lasts as long as it takes you to kill 40 enemies. Hope that helps!

Shooting luis stops him shooting the bad guys for a little moment which allows more into the cabin. The quicker they get in the quicker you can throw the hand grenade :)

For my purposes, I get hit every so often to ensure that both the difficulty doesn't raise, which it will if you don't get hit for a while and save up a bunch of ammo, and that certain enemies, ie these cabin ganados, the Knights and Saddler, have lower health so I can take the out faster and more easily.

He faced the wall for safety reasons, like when that ganado grabbed him. As you see, the grab did zero damage, so he just reloaded in the corner where the ganado couldn't hurt him.

Yeah, you only take damage if you get grabbed in the front. If someone grabs you from behind, you don't get hurt.

It allows more Ganados to come into the cabin, meaning I could kill more with each grenade. Otherwise, Louis would have shot a group of ganados, and maybe 1 of 3 would have found their way into the cabin.
